As Hannah Montana once wisely sang, “Nobody’s perfect.”
While most of us live and learn it, a select group of people love to ignore that each of us is born with imperfections and mercilessly mocks others. That’s right—internet trolls.

After the steamrolling success of her show, Workin’ Moms, actress Catherine Reitman has been the target of many hurtful and downright mean posts and tweets.
Even though the 42-year-old actress is the creator, executive producer, writer, and star of a multi-award-winning television series, haters on the internet can only seem to focus on one thing: her lips.
The Speculation Around Catherine Reitman’s Unique Smile
Catherine Reitman certainly does have a unique smile, with a curved upper lip that dips inward on each side and accentuates her ultra-white teeth.

Exclusive: The Kumars are plotting a return — this time on American television. Fox has ordered a presentation for multi-camera comedy Meet The Kumars, a followup to the award-winning 2001 BBC series The Kumars At No. 42. Most of the original cast is back for the U.S.-flavored revival of the family sitcom/talk show.
Fox also has come in as a partner on The Donut (working title), a single-camera family business comedy in development at Canada’s CBC from Catherine Reitman and Philip Sternberg, stars of CBC/Netflix’s popular comedy Workin’ Moms, which Reitman created.
The two commissions are part of Fox’s international content expansion, which involves developing and producing scripted series with local creators and studios in English-language territories, currently Canada and the UK and ultimately Australia as well.

The seventh and final season of “Workin’ Moms,” created by and starring Catherine Reitman, first aired on April 26th, 2023. With much glorification from viewers, many consider it the best season yet, even compared to the sixth season. (I’m right there with them).
The series follows four moms, Kate (Reitman) and Anne (Dani Kind), married to Ryan Belleville, Frankie (Juno Rinaldi), and Valerie (Sarah McVie). In this series, they realize that their lives will move forward despite their challenges with their children.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from the final season of “Workin’ Moms,” now streaming on Netflix.
After seven seasons and more than 80 episodes, “Workin’ Moms” has retired: The seventh and final season hit Netflix on April 26. Creator, writer, sometimes director and star Catherine Reitman knew she wanted to end the series while crafting Season 6 — bringing home the comedy of working mothers who are just trying to do their best — with a final scene she’d had in her head.
“The only justice I could think of for working mothers is, you just dust yourself off, you get back up and you go to work,” she tells Variety. “That’s it — you get your kids set up, and you go back to work. And there was no fantasy that could better eclipse the reality of being a working mother.”

Catherine Reitman wanted to share stories of women trying — and often failing — to have it all. Fast forward seven seasons, 83 episodes and dozens of awards nominations (including two International Emmy nods), and she’s ready to put that baby to bed.
“Workin’ Moms” was born following the creator, showrunner, star and sometimes director’s own first Mother’s Day, which she missed while shooting an indie movie. Along with her husband Philip Sternberg (who plays her on-screen husband Nathan on the series), they created the production banner Wolf + Rabbit and sold what was initially going to be a premium cable project to FX.
Reitman had spent a lot of time growing up in Canada with her family (her father was late Canadian filmmaker Ivan Reitman), so when FX passed, she looked north and sold the series to CBC.
“Honest to God, I was so hopeful that I would get to Season 2,” Reitman recalls to Variety.

As a make-up artist touches up Catherine Reitman’s hair between takes, it’s not immediately clear how many hats she wears on the Toronto soundstage for Workin’ Moms, her popular CBC and Netflix comedy.
Reitman is the creator, executive producer, writer and star, playing Kate Foster, on the half-hour series that began as four women in a Mommy and Me group wanting to have it all, yet juggling the real challenges of being a modern working mother, relationships, insatiable babies, horrific co-workers and postpartum depression.
“I laugh at the writers all the time. Here’s this indulgent thing I’m doing, sharing my personal experiences, praying that one out of five mothers will connect, and it turned out that a huge chunk of our audience don’t even have kids,” she tells The Hollywood Reporter about the improbability of her first TV...

"To those of you who’ve stopped me on the street, to share your love of the show — I see you. I hear you. And I thank you. Go get ’em mamas."

In terms of accolades, “Workin’ Moms” is at the top of the Canadian food chain. In two-and-a-half seasons the half-hour scripted comedy has garnered an International Emmy nomination, a dozen Canadian Screen Award nominations, and a 20% higher audience retention rate than the average series on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). Meanwhile in its 2017 debut, the show also pulled in wins as the New York Festival’s World’s Best Comedy Television Program, and as the Most Innovative Canadian Production at the Banff World Media Festival.
With Canadian audiences locked up and a third season currently airing, the series is now looking to capitalize on the international market when the first season drops globally on Netflix Feb. 22, following in the footsteps of other CBC series like “Schitt’s Creek” and “Kim’s Convenience.”
“Being a strong supporter of Canadian creators and producers we are thrilled when our series are seen around the world.
