Alexander Cockburn is a London native and freelance Film & Video editor. After studying experimental film at the Northern Media School under the tutelage of Keith Griffiths (Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, Berberian Sound Studio), Alex won an award for his first short film 'Communications' at the British Short Film Festival. He went on to direct various music videos for MTV and developed a short film script called 'Filament' which won a development grant from the BFI. Shortly afterward, Alex took a break from filmmaking to become a practicing Nichiren Buddhist.
AWARDS include British Short Film Festival Best Experimental Short, BFI Script Development Grant for "Filament," and grants from Arts Council England. He recently finished a Masters in Film Production with Raindance (awarded Distinction) and has been accepted on the first year of the BAFTA Connect program.
