Alan Dershowitz said good riddance to friends who no longer talk to him on Martha’s Vineyard or elsewhere as a result of his frequent advocacy of President Trump on Fox News, telling a radio show Tuesday that it was all evidence of his personal courage.
“The idea that some of these people aren’t talking to me is not a punishment, it’s a great reward. I am so pleased,” he told Wabc radio hosts Rita Cosby and Curtis Sliwa on Tuesday. “It’s a red badge of courage for me that there are some people who prefer to shut down debate and not talk to me.”
“These are people who have asked me for help over the years, who have asked me for support when their kid gets busted on a marijuana charge, or on possession of alcohol, I’m the first one they call,” he added dismissively.

Anna Nicole Smith's lawyer-turned-lover Howard K. Stern has settled a defamation suit over a steamy tell-all book about the late star.
Earlier this year, Stern filed a $60 million (£37.5 million) case against the Hachette Book Group and TV reporter-turned-writer Rita Cosby, accusing them of libel over a string of accusations made against him in Blonde Ambition: The Untold Story Behind Anna Nicole Smith's Death.
The tome about the late model makes a series of claims about Stern's sexuality, alleging Smith possessed a sex tape featuring Stern and her former boyfriend Larry Birkhead. Both men claimed Cosby had made it up, insisting the footage doesn't exist.
Stern sought compensatory and punitive damages, while Birkhead did not take legal action against Cosby.
And according to gossip website TMZ.com, Stern's battle with the author has been dismissed after they agreed to a settlement.
Terms of the legal deal will be kept confidential.

The trouble began almost two years ago, when Rita Cosby and publisher Hachette Book Group (which ironically sounds a lot like "Hatchet Book Group") published a celebrity biography of the late Anna Nicole Smith.
In Blonde Ambition, Cosby made allegations that Smith's attorney Howard K. Stern was gay and in fact had messed around with Anna Nicole's babydaddy, Larry Birkhead.
Stern, with Birkhead's support, brought suit against Cosby and her publisher in a federal district court in New York claiming the book contained 19 libelous statements, including for example the claim that Stern had engaged in oral sex at a Los Angeles party with Birkhead, and that Anna Nicole entertained herself by watching a sex video of Birkhead and Stern together.
U.S. District Judge Denny Chin ruled yesterday that the defamation case could proceed on 11 of the statements, but he he threw out eight others. Why? Because according to Judge Chin,...

Anna Nicole Smith is still making headlines from beyond the grave. Author and TV correspondent Rita Cosby has big trouble ahead: a judge has approved a jury trial for a libel case relating to a book Cosby authored in 2007 about Anna Nicole Smith. Cosby's book Blonde Ambition made a number of sensational allegations relating to the late actress and her lovers Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead (who is the father of Smith's daughter). Stern's suit claims that Cosby used information she knew or suspected was false in order to rush out a book about the actress, whose bizarre life and death became a media sensation. According to Cosby, Stern pimped out the drug addicted Smith to as many as 50 men a year. She also claims that Smith had a videotape of her rival lovers, Stern and Birkhead, having sex with each other. No tape has materialized and both men strongly deny the allegation.

Anna Nicole Smith's lawyer-turned-lover Howard K. Stern is heading back to court over a steamy tell-all book about the star - a judge has granted him permission to take his defamation lawsuit to trial.
Stern has filed suit against the Hachette Book Group and TV reporter-turned-writer Rita Cosby, accusing them of libel over a string of accusations made against him in Blonde Ambition: The Untold Story Behind Anna Nicole Smith's Death.
The book about the late star makes a series of claims about Stern's sexuality, alleging Smith possessed a sex tape featuring Stern and her boyfriend Larry Birkhead. Stern insists the footage doesn't exist.
At a hearing in a New York court on Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Denny Chin ruled that Stern's suit included enough evidence to warrant a trial - meaning a jury will now decide the outcome of the case.
Judge Chin dropped the publisher as a defendant and dismissed eight of 19 libellous statements allegedly made in the book.
Cosby's lawyer, Elizabeth McNamara, insists her client is confident of victory in the ongoing legal dispute, telling E! Online, "As to the remaining statements, we are fully confident that a jury will dismiss them as well once it hears all the evidence surrounding Howard K. Stern's life with Anna Nicole Smith."
Stern's attorney, L. Lin Wood, said his client was "very pleased" with the judge's decision
The $60 million (£41 million) suit asks for compensatory and punitive damages.

Anna Nicole Smith's longtime companion Howard K. Stern is suing an American journalist for "exploiting" the memory of the late glamour model. Stern filed a $60 million lawsuit against Rita Cosby on Tuesday over "false allegations" in her new tome Blonde Ambition: The Untold Story Behind Anna Nicole Smith's Death. The book claims Stern and Larry Birkhead - the father of Smith's daughter Dannielynn - were lovers who plotted to get control of the late star's estate. Cosby, a former MSNBC correspondent, claims there is a sex tape to prove the pair were lovers. But Stern's attorney, L. Lin Wood, has furiously denied the accusations. Wood says, "Blonde Ambition purports to be a 'tell-all' book, but it can only be accurately described as a 'tell-all-lies' book. And I am sure Howard and the estate and everyone else involved is going to sue her, too. This is just nonsense...None of it is true." Birkhead has denied a sex tape exists and has also threatened to sue. Smith passed away earlier this year.

Anna Nicole Smith's ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead has struck the first blow in the ongoing war of words between himself and journalist Rita Cosby - he's instructed his lawyer to sue her over allegations in her new book. Both Birkhead and Stern have threatened to take legal action against Cosby and her publisher, and now the photographer, who is the father of Anna Nicole's baby girl Dannielynn, has done just that. He says, "I've instructed my attorney to sue Rita Cosby and the publisher and any source that spits out that information anywhere. I would lawyer up if I were them because it's coming their way." Appearing on CNN show Larry King Live on Tuesday, Birkhead also revealed he's considering suing MSNBC because that's where Cosby was working when she reported on the aftermath of Smith's death in the Bahamas.
