- Lance LeVar was born in Arkadelphia, AR to Karma Hunstman LeVar and C. Jeddy LeVar. He is the fifth of six children.
Lance studied music education at Brigham Young University. He worked for two years at Saffire Corporation as an audio engineer and eventually the audio director. When he left the video game industry, he taught for five years as the instrumental music director at Timpanogos High School in Orem, UT.
Lance arranged and performed many percussion accompaniments for BYU choral groups. One of his accompaniment arrangements to "Turn the World Around" was featured on the DVD Songs of Praise and Remembrance, available from BYU's Tantara Records.
Lance returned to BYU to get a masters degree in educational leadership. He then worked for four years at Grand County High School. While there, he performed two years in the Moab Music Festival, and was a featured artist the second year.
