Ivan Oms Blanco most recent work as Cinematographer is for the documentary "Throughout the years" ...(2017) about the life and work of the musician, Paquito D'Rivera. (Award Winner at the United Latino Film Festival and New York Jazz Film Festival) He was born January 22, 1963, in Havana, Cuba. His expertise as Cinematographer is also based on his 23 years of work in Europe as well as in several countries of Africa and Latin America and covers from 35mm film cameras to the 4K, 5K, 6,5K workflow of RedOne, ARRI Alexa and similar. He holds the Director of Photography credit, for the TV Show "Master Chef Maroc" for MedPro and EndemolShine France. In 2015 he moved to Miami, FL. USA, where he worked as a (Camara/Editor) for the news show "MegaNoticiero" with Maria Elvira Salazar... airing in Mega TV from January until September 2016 and Studio Camera Operator to this day. He recently finished the movie "Miami Love Affair", filmed in Miami in 2016 in RedOne Dragon (Cinematography)
At age 17 (in 1980) Ivan started working at the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC) as a Camera Assistant, Focus Puller and Operator adding 36 years in total as a cameraman to his curriculum. When he turned 24 he was deployed in Angola as a War Correspondent at his return he pursued higher studies at the Faculty of Audiovisual Media of the Institute of Art of the University of Havana graduating in 1992. In 1993, he emigrated to Spain where he settled in Seville. He has been Director of Photography (Cinematographer) since then known for his films "Adiós Madres" (Goodbye Mothers) (2007) selected for an Academy Award in the Foreign Language category, "Malak" (2011), Opera Prima Award in the Tangier Festival, "Adiós Carmen" (Goodbye Carmen) (2012), Special Jury Prize at the Dubai Festival 2013 among others.
