She was a photographer who covered Mafia inter-family feuds in Sicily, mostly by photographing the bodies of their victims, including rival Mafiosi, corrupt politicians, businessmen, and innocent civilians caught in the crossfire.
All of her photographs were in black and white.
She was often the first person after police officers to arrive at crime scenes, using a scanner tuned to police radio frequencies.
