The fruits of Disney’s industry-reported 100M+ promotional partner campaign on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever have been yielded, not just in a November U.S./Canada box office opening record of 181.3M and 12.7M admissions but in stoking a diverse range of demographics including Black, Latino/Hispanic and older women to cinemas in droves this past weekend.
The media value for the sequel’s promo-partner lineup, I hear, is double that of the first Black Panther and the same value as last year’s Eternals.

Raven Banner Entertainment announced it has completed production on Rue Morgue Magazine founder Rodrigo Gudiño’s “The Breach,” marking a reunion with former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, who serves as the film’s executive producer and co-producer of the score.
Based on a book by horror novelist Nick Cutter (born Craig Davidson), with a screenplay co-penned by Cutter and Ian Weird, “The Breach” centers on John Hawkins, who is set to retire from his post as police chief of the small town of Lone Crow that is tucked away in the deep woods of northern Ontario. But following the discovery of a gruesome body with uncanny injuries, he’s pulled into an investigation to solve the horrifying mystery, which evades explanation.

He hasn't quite gone the writer/director route of fellow rocker Rob Zombie, but guitar hero Slash launched his own horror movie production company, SlashFiction, back in 2010. The first fruit of that labour was last year's Nothing Left To Fear, directed by Anthony Leonardi III. Now here's a teaser for the next one, The Hell Within."When I read the script for The Hell Within I knew it was the right project for my taste," says the top-hatted rock'n'roll producer. "I love monsters and practical effects, so it spoke to my horror sensibilities. And it's a story I know horror fans will dig as well."That story involves a New York woman, Marie, heading into the Brazilian jungle to save a missing child following some mysterious phonecalls, but finding that's only the beginning of an ordeal. Marie and her husband David get stranded in Seringal, a village overrun with drug runners and lost souls,...

Following up our interview with Slash for his first foray into the horror genre, HeyUGuys had the opportunity to get further under the skin of Nothing Left to Fear when we spoke with its director Anthony Leonardi III…
Why a career in filmmaking? Was there that one inspirational moment?
Oh man I have a couple of them. My background is a bit different because I grew up in the film industry. My grandparents worked at MGM together and they met when they were kids, and I grew up going to Spielberg’s movie sets whilst he was shooting the likes of Jurassic Park. So from an early age it was in the blood and I just knew what it was I wanted to do. Also I grew up in a small town just north of Los Angeles. I remember how we had one theatre and several features and I saw Baron Munchausen and Beetlejuice there,...

From the psychopathic, Christopher Lambert-bothering Kurgan in Highlander to tyrannical prison warden Byran Hadley in The Shawshank Redemption through to new recruit-maiming drill sergeant Zim in Starship Troopers, it's safe to say that I am one of the many movie fans who have more than just a handful of favourite Clancy Brown roles.
Brown joins an impressive cast that includes Anne Heche and James Tupper for Nothing Left To Fear, the first horror film to come from former Guns 'N' Roses guitarist Slash's production company 'Slasher Films'. Akin to Seventies horror classics The Wicker Man and Rosemary's Baby, Anthony Leonardi III's debut feature channels fears of the occult, secret societies and the supernatural with a modern twist.

Interview Luke Savage 18 Feb 2014 - 06:30
Luke chats to the amazing Clancy Brown about working for Slash, Buckaroo Banzai, defining the 80s, and the franchise potential of Warcraft.
He chopped Sean Connery's head off in Highlander. Saved the human race in Starship Troopers. And was really mean to pretty much everyone in The Shawshank Redemption. His name is Clancy Brown – Clarence J. Brown III if you want to get specific - and he is awesome.
Menacing tough guy, loveable nice guy, he's voiced a merman, Sasquatch, Lex Luthor, plus a character called Mr. Krabs. He even squared up to The Statham in last year's Homefront and lived to tell the tale.
In short, he's the best kind of supporting actor. Any film he's in gets better whenever he's on screen. That's certainly the case with Nothing Left to Fear, the film he's on the other end of a phone to promote.

Stars: Clancy Brown, Anne Heche, Rebekah Brandes, Ethan Peck, James Tupper, Jennifer Stone | Written byJonathan W.C. Mills | Directed by Anthony Leonardi III
Nothing Left to Fear is the first terrific terror tale from Slasher Films (founded by Guns N’ Roses rock legend/horror nut Slash), directed by Gore Verbinski’s visionary protégé Anthony Leonardi III. The film stars James Tupper and Anne Heche as the new pastor and his wife who arrive in Stull, Kansas, with their three kids hoping for an idyllic country life. At first the town and its people look like being the answer to their prayers, but then the supposedly retiring pastor Clancy Brown puts into motion an ancient ritual that unleashes a demonic fury. For Stull is one of the seven gateways to Hell and its inhabitants must quell the Beast who rises to walk the Earth at all bloody costs.

Nothing Left to Fear runs into the occasional hiccup and it isnt going to do much for anyone anticipating breakneck terror simply because Slash was involved. This isnt Slashs movie its Anthony Leonardi IIIs movie and Anthony deserves a lot of credit for putting together a piece of film worthy of watching. Easing off of the CGId infectious blackness that swarms the final reel could have strengthened the production and maybe a little gratuitous nudity would have felt fitting (okay I admit thats just wishful thinking that Brandes might sign a contract that involves a little Ta) but all in all there isnt much about the flick that really cries out for alteration. This is low budget filmmaking with a lot of talent behind it.

“Nothing Left To Fear is a harrowing tale in the spirit of the terrifying horror films of the 1970s. The movie is inspired by the legend of Stull, Kansas, which is surrounded by Internet folklore proclaiming the town to be one of the Seven Gateways to Hell. But in this sleepy community of friendly neighbors, a horrific series of occurrences awaits them: Their teenage daughter (Rebekah Brandes of “Bellflower”) is being tormented by grisly visions. Beware the horror movie that lists its "special effects" team too high in the credits. It's a dead giveaway: "This is what we spent our money on" and "This is what we're proudest of."
But hats off to Spectral Motion and effects maestro Mike Elizalde. The ghosts in "Nothing Left to Fear" are the only things to fear in this pedestrian spook fest.
They could have pitched this as a reunion of the on-and-off-screen paramours of the late TV show "Men in Trees" -- Anne Heche and James Tupper. But who remembers that?
They play a preacher and his wife who move their family -- two sassy, profane daughters, Becky and Mary (Rebekah Brandes and Jennifer Stone) and a younger son (Carter Cabassa) -- to Small Town, U.S.A., for a fresh start. Preacher Dan (Tupper) was recruited by Preacher Kingsman (Clancy Brown) to take over his flock upon retirement.

The Toronto-based company has acquired Canadian rights to Slasher Films’ Nothing Left To Fear and plans an autumn theatrical release.
The film is the first to be produced from Slasher Films, the horror label from Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash and producing partners Rob Eric and Michael Williams.
Directed by Anthony Leonardi III from a script by Jonathan W C Mills, the film centres on a family that moves to a small town where a horrific series of occurrences await them. Their daughters are tormented by grisly visions and marked for a depraved ritual to keep the demon from escaping from a gateway to Hell.

He hasn't quite gone the writer/director route of fellow rocker Rob Zombie, but Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver guitar hero Slash launched his own horror movie production company, Slasher Films, back in 2010, and now the first fruits of that labour have arrived. Here's a trailer for Nothing Left To Fear,* directed by Anthony Leonardi III, and with a brief introduction (for Comic-Con) by Slash himself. As you'll see, the film involves a pastor moving with his family to a new rural town which immediately seems creepily over-friendly. Turns out they're in thrall to a "lord" of an alternative lifestyle persuasion. Cue demon-looking things, some oozing, and that CGI thing where people's jaws open wider than they're meant to. It's "inspired by the legend of Stull, Kansas", we're told, which involves the town being a gateway to Hell. Urge Overkill made a record about it, so Slash isn't the film's only rock heritage.

Following news that hit about two weeks back, Variety reports that Runner, Runner has made Gemma Arterton the latest member of its sprightly cast. Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) and his team have already grabbed Ben Affleck, Justin Timberlake, Oliver Cooper (Project X), and Anthony Mackie for the film, which revolves around a Princeton student (Timberlake) who ends up working for the online gambling site that already drained him of funds. Arterton has a thrilling, transgressive role, having been pegged to play the main character’s love interest.
Brian Koppelman and David Levien wrote the screenplay, a job that’s more than likely to bring them back to their Rounders days — only, this time, the gambling is much more modern and “high-tech.” (This aspect might actually be transgressive, now that I think about it.)
