When the Veronicas went over to John Feldmann’s house in Los Angeles last year, the plan was just to share some coffee and meditate. The Australian twin sister duo, made up of Jessie and Lisa Origliasso, are longtime buddies of Feldmann, who was the lead singer of band Goldfinger before becoming pop-punk’s foremost producer.
During a recent Zoom call from her beachfront home on Australia’s Gold Coast, Jessie describes one moment of “spontaneous creation” with Feldmann: The three of them ended up writing the songs “Perfect” and “Invisible” that very day.

In 2002, Avril Lavigne’s skate-punk aesthetic and emo-but-energized angst quickly made her the queen of the aughts pop-punk revival scene. Since her third album, 2007’s The Best Damn Thing, she’s ebbed and flowed, dipping her toes in bubblegum pop and more self-serious pop rock. Her seventh album, Love Sux, brings her back to her roots, bridging the gap between her early emo vibe with the bubblegum confidence that brought her away from it.
Lavigne packs the album, which is just under 40 minutes, with ferocious energy. She partnered with ska-heavyweight-turned-pop-punk-whisperer John Feldmann (5Sos,...

The news that the first two “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater” video games were getting HD remasters has been one of the year’s best surprises. Now, fans of the franchise have more to look forward to. Upcoming documentary “Pretending I’m a Superman” chronicles the lasting influence of the classic skating game and how it affected Hawk’s career.
Here’s the documentary’s synopsis, per distributor Wood Entertainment: In 1999, the video game “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater” shook the world when it sold 9 million copies upon release and forever changed the skateboarding scene. “Pretending I’m a Superman” tells the story behind the game that changed lives and shaped a generation.
“In the ‘90s everything about skateboarding was an ‘us versus them’ mentality,” Hawk says in the documentary’s trailer. “I was a fading vert skater, my income was getting cut in half every month, and so...

“It’s a very fun, neon video. I think everyone will like it,” Alabama told Et during a Facebook Live interview on Monday.
“We shot three scenes six months ago and then we shot three more scenes [recently],” she added. "I actually co-wrote [the song] with Rachel West, my dad and John Feldmann,"
The video was shot at her dad’s, Travis Barker, home in Calabasas, California. In fact, the golf cart she drives in the video was a gift from the rocker.

Despite releasing the best album of their career only a few months ago, Blink-182 has no problem gearing up to come out with new music already. In fact, drummer Travis Barker shared that the band has intentions on dropping some new songs in the near future.
In an interview with Radio X, Barker says that Blink will be hitting the studio in just a couple of weeks to record material for an upcoming deluxe version of their recent number one record, California. It’s interesting that what will be added to the deluxe will be brand new music, because they could have totally gotten away with just tacking on some songs that were leftover from the California sessions. Of course, the songs that get recorded may have been written a while ago, but the fact that they’re taking the time to record now might result in some spark that wasn’t there before.

Australian pop-punk upstarts and Rolling Stone cover stars 5 Seconds of Summer graced the Conan stage Monday and performed an acoustic version of their Sounds Good Feels Good single, "Hey Everybody."
Despite the stripped-down instrumentals, 5 Seconds of Summer delivered the infectious cut with the requisite attitude and angst, cruising through the chorus with an impressive wave of four-part harmonies. Not even the confines of their stools could keep guitarists Luke Hemmings and Michael Clifford from trying a few rock kicks as they brought the song to a close.

They've sold more than a half-million albums, have mastered the art of leaving a stadium full of girls in mascara-streaked tears and hit the road with One Direction before headlining their own tour. But before 5 Seconds of Summer reached household-name status, they were just a garage band from Down Under trying to make it big. So how did the Aussie punk-rockers - Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Michael Clifford and Ashton Irwin - get their start? Cowriters and producers John Feldmann, Jake Sinclair and Alex Gaskarth tell People how their debut LP all came together. Write a Hit in One DayIt reached No.

For nearly a month now, ever since Panic! at the Disco announced that guitarist Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker were leaving to start a new band called the Young Veins, there has been speculation that any number of "Behind the Music"-type maladies (drugs, money, jealousy ... you name it) had led to the split.
Despite both sides denying that there was any drama involved — both said "creative differences" were to blame — that speculation didn't show any sides of letting up.
And Spencer Smith was getting tired of it. So last week, when both Panic! and the Veins released singles on the same day (Panic! had announced the date in advance; the Veins,...
