Def Leppard have announced a 40th anniversary expanded reissue of their seminal 1983 album Pyromania, arriving April 26th.
The legendary UK band is pulling all the stops for the reissue campaign, digging into the archives for previously unreleased demos, outtakes, rough mixes, and live recordings.
The 4-cd/Blu-Ray and 2-lp editions will include the original remastered album as well as these archival recordings, including a rare rough mix of “Photograph” with an unfinished vocal track and a previously “long lost” demo of “No You Can’t Do That” — an outtake and the “11th track” from the Pyromania sessions.
“Rediscovering dusty old cassettes which were brilliantly restored by [executive producer] Ronan [McHugh] and finding the long lost unfinished ’11th track’ was a journey only few of us are lucky enough to take,” remarked singer Joe Elliot in a press release. “What a trip!”
The 4-cd box set also features two era-specific concert recordings: December 18th,...

Metallica’s 2023-2024 “M72 World Tour” is officially underway. As reported, the metal legends kicked off the two-year run with two shows in Amsterdam, playing entirely different sets on each night. Now, you can check out photos from the two concerts at Johan Cruijff ArenA, courtesy of renowned photographer Ross Halfin and Live Nation (see below).
On night one (April 27th), Metallica performed a 16-song set, showcasing three songs each from 72 Seasons, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, and “The Black Album,” among other tunes. The evening ended with a ferocious rendition of “Master of Puppets.”
As advertised, the band didn’t repeat any songs from the first night during the second show (April 29th), which saw them playing 16 songs, as well. That gig closed out with a thunderous version of “Enter Sandman.”
Metallica will continue to play two shows with unique setlists over two nights in each city throughout the “M72 World Tour.

Chicago – Sacha Gervasi, the director of the great “Anvil! The Story of Anvil” likes to use the word awesome. When we talked about his brilliant love letter to his favorite band, Gervasi couldn’t hide the super-fan inside that is just loving the rock show that has built up around Steve “Lips” Ludlow and Robb Reiner.
The story around “Anvil! The Story of Anvil” is nearly as interesting as the movie itself. Made by a talented director who still remembers the first time he saw the band in September of 1982, the film has evolved into a bonafide phenomenon. Open to the contents page of the newest Rolling Stone and you’ll see a picture of Anvil. The film about them is expanding to over 200 cities and the band is even going to be included in a new Rock Band download and playing the Monsters of Rock festival in England. If...
