Visionary Sridhar Ranganath is an American Filmmaker who was born in Bangalore city,
India. Since his childhood, he was fascinated with moving images, which
he credits to his family. At the age of 13, he started his own Theater
Company called 'Expressions'. He moved to New York City in the year
2001 to study Film & TV. He studied 'Directing Actors' at the Tisch
School of Art, NYU. His first short film "Glimpse of Dawn" earned him
various awards including 'The Best Visual Short'. He also won 'The Best
New York Debut Director Award' for his first feature film: 'The Gleam'
(2006). He was one of the few selected directors for a unique
documentary feature: 'A Broadway' which was shot in just one day on
location in New York City that was know as 'The Film of the decade'.
His passion for filmmaking has driven him to Produce, Executive Produce
and Co-Produce many independent movies that have been successfully sold
in the market. His growing experience in the Industry include
critically acclaimed films such as 'Yelling to the sky' (A Sundance
Film Institute project starring Oscar winner Gabourey Sidibe & Zoe
Kravitz) - Entre Nos (Starring CAA members Paola Mendoza & Sarita
Choudary) - He's way more famous than you(Starring Ben Stiller, Michael
Uri & Halley Feiffer) His recent Co-Production is a psychological
thriller 'The Secret Village' starring Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls)
and Ali Faulkner (The Twilight) which is set for Fall 2013 release
worldwide. He has produced and directed many PSA's, TV Commercials &
Music Videos such as 'My City' featuring BAM and 'Fame' from MOP
(Columbia Records). His experience in the world of Television include
leading a set of 'Producers' in the East Coast and International region
for Current TV (Peabody and Emmy Award-winning television/online
Network founded in 2005 by Al Gore and Joel Hyatt). His interest in
Humanitarian and Philanthropic Projects have led him to start his own
Global Projects such as 'Unique Perceptions' and "Art Institute for
Children' where the former is a TV/Web series about Disabled Artists
and the latter is an Institute providing free education for children in
the Arts such as 'Painting', 'Filmmaking' & 'Art of Stone Carving'.
