Jamie Lee Curtis, Janelle Monáe, Margot Robbie, Gracie Abrams and Addison Rae on Wednesday presented 1 million in university scholarships to high school seniors from underserved communities across Los Angeles with full-ride college scholarships.
The announcement was made at The Hollywood Reporter’s 2022 Women in Entertainment breakfast gala, presented by Lifetime, which was held at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, in conjunction with the publication of the Women in Entertainment Power 100 list.
Curtis and Monáe teamed to kick off the scholarships presentation, with Curtis announcing that Lifetime would be presenting a 10,000 scholarship to each graduating mentee to the school of their choice.

The things pets do to keep their owners entertained.
Thanks to our new obsession with fidget spinners, animals across the country are getting to try the little gadgets for themselves.
Some love them. Some hate them. And then there are those pets who really don’t care and just want to go back to playing a classic game of fetch.
This dog belongs in the last category. Since he is a good boy, he tolerates his owner’s fidget spinner fascination, keeping as still as a statue so his dad can document his natural balancing skills.

Chicago’s Brookfield Zoo has found three enticing suitors for its single female blue-grey tanager.
Each bird beau-to-be is set up next to the female’s cage so she can get a good look at her dates — but no touching is allowed. And all of the interaction between the winged lady and her three Lotharios is being filmed. According to the Chicago Tribune, the zoo has set up this avian version of The Bachelorette to see who is the best mate for the female tanager by letting the bird choose herself.

Veterans Day is traditionally observed Nov. 11, but technology consulting firm Sharp Decisions has made the act of giving back to vets a top priorities year-round. Vets of all ages across the country struggle to find work.
