Tyler Perry's Boo 2! A Madea Halloween was the most-watched new movie in theaters this weekend, but it still fell far short of the opening-weekend take of its predecessor. The week's biggest bomb, however, was the pricey Geostorm, which took in only about 10 percent of its production budget.

Lionsgate and Tyler Perry's Boo 2! A Madea Halloween had no trouble scaring up a No. 1 finish in its big-screen debut with $21.7 million from 2,388 theaters.
Overall, however, inclement weather was the big story at the box office, where the four other new nationwide offerings were swept away. The biggest casualty is Geostorm, the long-delayed environmental disaster epic from Warner Bros. and Skydance Media that opened to $13.3 million domestically after costing a reported $120 million to make before marketing.

"People got dead up there for real!" Oh boy, here we go again... Lionsgate has revealed the trailer for the newest Tyler Perry joint, another Madea comedy (sequel) titled Boo 2! A Madea Halloween. This is, obviously enough, a sequel to the goofy Halloween comedy Boo! A Madea Halloween release just last year. Tyler Perry not only returns to write and direct, but also star again as Madea (and Joe and Brian). The cast includes Cassi Davis, Patrice Lovely, Chandra Currelley, Yousef Erakat, Diamond White, Lexy Panterra, and Andre Hall. The plot involves Madea, Bam & Hattie going to a haunted campground where they find monsters, goblins, and the boogeyman. As much as I have absolutely no interest in these movies, I have to give them props on the amusing poster design. Other than that, if you want to watch then go ahead. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Tyler Perry's Boo 2! A Madea Halloween,...

So when I heard about this new DVD coming out, my first thought was, when did this Tyler Perry movie come out? He cranks them out like a sausage machine, so I thought this was one that slipped by. Turns out this is not a film, of course, but a stage play which toured around the U.S. earlier this year. And if you missed it, here's your chance. A Blu-ray DVD of the play is coming out from Lionsgate Films on Feb. 5. Starring, who else, as Madea (which begs the question - does he have an understudy if he can't perform that night, and if so who is he?), Patrice Lovely, Chandra Currelley-Young and Cheryl "Pepsii" Riley (God, that's a name I haven't...
