Glee’s Rachel-centric episode on Tuesday night showed her Broadway debut in the revival premiere of Funny Girl – but before that – she had to make it there.
Glee Recap
In the middle of the night, Rachel (Lea Michele) has a recurring nightmare of getting called to hit the stage for the premiere and not being prepared in the slightest. The nightmare also returns Karofsky (Max Adler) and Jacob Ben Israel (Josh Sussman), who publicly chastise her, while she’s naked, and then gets stuck in a mass of balloons. There’s also Santana (Naya Rivera) back in her Cheerio prime and Blaine (Darren Criss) in his Warblers ensemble. The dream ends on a good note, as she sings The Cardigan’s "Lovefool" in the McKinley High auditorium rocking one of her old sweaters.
As it turns out, the nightmares are the result of Rachel reading less than stellar reviews of...

In Glee episode “New Directions,” it’s finally time to say goodbye to the glee club that brought them all together in the first place – and for some to join the others in New York City.
Glee Recap
Scheming in the staff lunchroom to keep the New Directions alive are April Rhodes (Kristen Chenoweth) and Holly Holiday (Gwyneth Paltrow). Holly, playing on Sue Sylvester’s (Jane Lynch) admiration for her, asks if there’s a way to weave music into some of the school’s other clubs. Sue doesn’t seem too into the idea, but allows for a trial run.
Walking through the halls of McKingley High, Tina Cohen Chang (Jenna Ushkowitz) is monologue-ing about her future. She, unlike the rest of the bunch, doesn’t really have any idea what’s next for her. She applied late to colleges, and hasn’t heard from safety school Ohio State.

While we’re all completely upset with the news of ‘Glee’ ending after season six, the stars have faith that the writers will end it in the right way. Jenna Ushkowitz, who portrays Tina Cohen-Chang on the show, spoke exclusively to HollywoodLife.com and revealed what she hopes for at the end — and what she’s hoping doesn’t happen.
Glee will sadly come to an end after season six, creator Ryan Murphy confirmed on Oct.16. While we know that the Glee cast doesn’t want to “over stay their welcome” on the show, Jenna Ushkowitz is just hoping to stay in high school a little bit longer.

I could kick off my recap of Glee‘s second straight Beatles-themed episode by telling you I got choked up during Tina Cohen-Chang’s big prom moment. It, um, did not work out that way. But we did learn a few things and have a few laughs, after which we settled in to chart the evolution of the show we hate to love and love to hate. (And sometimes also love to love.)

So shocking! Finn Hudson is finally getting over Rachel, but he picked the wrong woman to do it with — seriously!
The Feb. 7 episode of Glee, titled “Diva,” was all about, well, divas. But while Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Rachel (Lea Michele) battled it out in a sing off and Tina Cohen-Chang (Jenna Ushkowitz) proved that she’s not just a back-up singer, Finn (Cory Monteith) got busy smooching another man’s woman!
Brace yourselves because Finn kissed Emma (Jayma Mays) — the woman about to marry Mr. Schue (Matthew Morrison). How could he?!
Emma was lending a hand to the glee club this week, acting as a guest judge for the New Directions’ diva off. Will is still off in Washington, D.C. So while her fiance is away, Emma is busy giving Finn advice on moving on after Rachel. Heck, she’s already “shacking up,” according to her Facebook status.

Be it with a show tune from Les Miserables or a new-age disco number like "Hung Up," no series knows how to pull a diva-off quite like Glee. Those girls - and Kurt - were definitely on fire tonight!
While we're still dealing with the clunker that is the Tina-Blaine crush, "Diva" was the Glee's best outing so far in 2013.
While the diva theme was a convenient way to kill several birds with one stone, tonight just worked. The blend of McKinley and NYC was nearly seamless, bringing them completely together at the end with Santana's arrival on Kurt and Rachel's doorstep.
Finn needs a way to spark confidence in the glee club. Emma suggests giving them a competitive assignment, a la Will Schue. So he beams Santana in to have her shake it like a Polaroid picture for the class with four of her college cheerleader buddies.

Don’t say “diva” like it’s a dirty word. I mean, if living legend Aretha Franklin was more than happy to be front and center for VH1′s “Divas Live” extravaganza, then who are the rest of us to treat it like a common four-letter word, right?
Okay, so diva-dom might also be about milquetoast Emma Pillsbury reducing Cheesecake Factory managers to tears, and Rachel Berry’s runaway ego stomping around New York City like King Kong after an expensive blowout at the salon. It could even prompt Tina Cohen-Chang to withhold her “soup” from an ailing Blaine Anderson.

Let's do McKinley first today:
Tina Cohen-Chang leads a meeting of the Too Young to Be Bitter Club. In the case of most of the club's members — Becky, Lauren Zizes (er, hey, girl?), Marley — it's true; they are too young to be bitter. But Tina, whose entire existence is like getting live-action trolled Stranger than Fiction-style, deserves her bitterness. Honestly, if she could find an archenemy and develop a maniacal laugh, she'd be in possession of all the qualities and life experiences she needs to become a supervillain. Anyway, the club doesn't know it is trapped inside an episode of Glee, so the ladies decide it's time for some female-empowerment. Rather than waiting around for boys to validate their existence, the girls decide to throw a Sadie Hawkins dance, so they can actively seek out boys to validate their existence.

Fox’s hit dramedy Glee returns tomorrow after its long winter hiatus.
After combing through the archives, I’ve chosen the 10 best covers throughout the show’s four-season run.
One of Glee’s best attributes is its ability to put a story with a song, giving it more power than a radio can. If a song gets the appropriate arrangement, a compelling back story and powerful pipes, the combination can be overwhelming and memorable.
Take a look — and a listen — to the top 10 best Glee songs ever. Consider this your essential Glee playlist:
10. Flo Rida’s “Whistle” (as performed in season four, episode eight: “Thanksgiving”)
The most recent song on the list, “Whistle” shows us that The Dalton Academy Warblers can exist without the beloved Blaine Anderson (Darren Criss) at the helm. This rendition of Flo Rida’s overtly sexual ditty at Sectionals appropriately displays...

Glee is halfway through its fourth season and original New Directions member Tina Cohen-Chang is still there, though you may not have noticed. While the character has had the occasional storyline or moment to shine, she remains the Jan Brady (or, for a more current reference, the Edith Crawley) of Glee, always getting the fuzzy end of the lollipop.

Whyyyyyyyyyyyy?!That's the only question we had when we heard that "Glee" was going to cover Psy's "Gangnam Style" -- and now that we've seen it, the question still remains.Sure, the song is catchy and has been dominating both YouTube and iTunes recently, but is it really a tune that showcases New Directions' stellar voices? No.Though she rarely has solos, Tina Cohen-Chang (Jenna Ushkowitz) performed the Korean pop song at Sectionals on last night's episode. Ushkowitz herself was born in Korea, but was raised in New York. The number was all over the place, and paled in comparison to come of the other group numbers this season -- like "Some Nights" and "Chasing Pavements."And we're not alone in thinking it wasn't the show's best. As the episode aired, fans took to Twitter to show their dissatisfaction."Just heard Glee's cover of Gangnam Style and now I believe in hell,...

It's Brittany covering Britney on Glee this Thursday, bitch.
Following last Thursday's positively received Season 4 premiere, the show will do it again on "Britney 2.0," setting up Heather Morris as the lead Britney Spears imitator and once more paying tribute to this pop music legend.
Among the tracks we'll hear? "Hold It Against Me," as performed by Morris and the Cheerios. Give it a full look and listen now:
Glee Cast - "Hold It Against Me"
Other songs that will be added to our Glee music section following the episode:
"Boys"/"Boyfriend" - Artie Abrams and Blaine Anderson "Womanizer" - Wade Adams, Tina Cohen-Chang and Marley Rose "(You Drive Me) Crazy"/"Crazy" - Jake Puckerman and Marley Rose "3" - Sam Evans, Joe Hart and Tina Cohen-Chang "Oops!... Final Thoughts: Coming from someone who hasn’t really enjoyed the last two seasons of Glee, I thought the season 4 premiere was extremely strong.
Everything from the music (wasn’t the biggest fan of “Americano/Dance Again”) and the storylines are right on spot so far.
The introduction of Marley and her cafeteria mom is a breath of fresh air for the show and is a rather timely storyline. And Marley stuns in her performances as well (as does Jake). I couldn’t be more excited for a character on this show than I am for her.
Rachel and Kurt have reunited (making my Kurt and Rachel Show dreams come true) and I’m looking forward to them taking NYC by storm together.
I was surprised to see many of the graduates missing from the premiere, but with the addition of new characters, it makes sense.

Jenna Ushkowitz will release her memoir Choosing Glee next year. The new book will trace Ushkowitz's journey from being adopted as a baby to landing the role of Tina Cohen-Chang in Glee, reveals The Hollywood Reporter. Ushkowitz offered a preview of the book in a statement, saying: "My goal is for you to walk away from this book looking at the world differently than when you started. Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch aren't the only writerly cast members on "Glee": Jenna Ushkowitz, who plays Tina Cohen-Chang on the Fox hit, is writing her own book. "Choosing Glee" will come out in spring of 2013.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ushkowitz's book will be an autobiography of sorts, documenting her childhood on Long Island, where she was raised after being adopted as a baby, her Broadway debut in "The King and I" in 1996, her stint in "Spring Awakening" with "Glee" costar Lea Michele, and her time on "Glee." It'll also focus on her "motivational approach toward life."
"My goal is for you to walk away from this book looking at the world differently than when you started. It's about how to have, do and be anything you want," she tells THR.
Wonder what juicy stories she'll share about "Glee" -- with a cast that big, you know some crazy stuff happens backstage.

"People ask me, 'How did you get here?' Well, I learned how to fight for what I want," says Ushkowitz, who, as a baby, was adopted by a Long Island family. "I learned to focus and work hard and not give up. I learned that every obstacle is really an opportunity."

As much as Glee is about singing and tolerance and bullying and domestic violence and young love, it also is about fashion. I mean, in last week’s episode, even Principal Figgins noted the evolution of Tina Cohen-Chang’s wardrobe. And nothing pointed out the characters’ individual fashion sense as much as the character swapping they did in “Props.” That’s why, as we brace ourselves for tonight’s graduation episode, and the summer hiatus to follow, we thought we’d look back at some of our favorite outfits from the season.
In looking through the Fox-provided stills from season three, we noticed a few interesting things: 1) There’s not much of Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays) — her character took a backseat for most of the season, so we’ve been deprived of her adorable, early-’60s-inspired dresses. 2) Rachel Berry’s wardrobe has hardly changed through the seasons, though there...

Jenna Ushkowitz Has Boyfriend To Thank For Lady Gaga Video Spot
Glee star Jenna Ushkowitz has her actor boyfriend Michael Trevino to thank for helping her land a guest spot in Lady Gaga's recent music video.
The 26 year old, who plays Tina Cohen-Chang on the hit U.S. TV series Glee, was hanging out with her partner Trevino on the set of his TV show Vampire Diaries when she bumped into the Bad Romance hitmaker, who was visiting her then-boyfriend actor Taylor Kinney.
The two couples went out on a double date in Atlanta, Georgia - and Trevino suggested Gaga should use his girl in a music video.
Opening up about her friendship with the pop star during an appearance on U.S. TV chat show host Wendy Williams' daytime programme on Thursday, Ushkowitz said, "She comes over to Michael's apartment, she had her hair down. She had like a nice weave in. And she used my comb too! And I'm like, 'I'm never using this again!' She is awesome. She is super cool. We ended up hanging out. We went to a (Atlanta) Braves (baseball) game together."
And Gaga certainly took a liking to Ushkowitz - she later invited the actress to appear in her Marry the Night video, as her best pal Bo.
The actress continues, "Two weeks later, she got in touch with my agent. She was like, 'Can you do me this favour and can you come (and) be in my music video?' I was like, 'I think so.'
Unfortunately Ushkowitz and Gaga won't be double dating again any time soon - although the actress is still romancing Trevino, her boyfriend of a year, the pop star ended her 10-month romance with Kinney last month.

Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 3, Episodes 20 and 21 of Fox's "Glee," entitled "Props" and "Nationals," respectively.
"Glee" has never been perfect. In fact, this season, it's been far from it. But just when you count them out, the New Directions have a way of winning you over again. Ladies and gentlemen, I think I'm a gleek again.
Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from the first hour of "Glee's" two-hour event, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that the much-talked about role reversals were barely a fraction of the episode. I'm not saying that it wasn't fun to see Finn rock Kurt's stylish cape collection, and to see Tina put on a pait of knee-high socks and belt out one of my favorite Celine Dion songs, but I was glad that segment only lasted a mere 10 minutes. I don't think I could have taken anymore of Kurt's creepy Finn.

The Screen Actors Guild has announced their list of nominations for the best performances of 2011. I have to point out that I'm surprised Tom Hardy and Joel Edgarton weren't nominated for their roles in Warrior, because they were pretty damn awesome in that film. I think they deserved a nom more than Leonardo DiCaprio. I'm a huge fan of DiCaprio but his performance in J. Edgar wasn't his best. Brad Pitt will end up taking home the award for Moneyball though. It was great to see Bridesmaids and The Help get a nomination for best ensemble cast. It will be interesting to see who takes home the award on this list, and how many of them will make their way to the Oscars.
Who would you like to see take home the award?

Pst! Have you heard? "Glee" is going to attempt to do the impossible: Keep all of their couples together in Season 3. At Comic-Con, co-creator and executive producer Brad Falchuk said, "We're not really interested in breaking anybody up this year."

So what do they want to see happen in Season 3 with Chang Squared? "Just being able to explore a little more outside of just staying together and making out," Shum says. Yeah, making out with your attractive co-star must be really tough. "It's rough," Ushkowitz jokes. "It's real rough."
