The actor and director Fred Stranz began his film career in 1917.
Already at the beginning he was both a movie director and actor - often in his own movies.
With several of his early movies he created the so-called "Isar-Western" with the figure Texas Fred which he impersonated himself.
For some of his movies he also wrote the script and was responsible as a producer.
