LONDON -- The killing of two British journalists working for CBS in Iraq brings the total of media staff killed in the conflict since 2003 to 127, the International Federation of Journalists said Tuesday. So far this year, 22 media workers have been killed in Iraq, according to IFJ secretary Aidan White, who says there is "no safe place" for those covering the conflict, adding that Iraq presents "an unprecedented atmosphere of terror and intimidation" for journalists throughout the country. "Our thoughts tonight are with the friends and families of the victims, and we must redouble our efforts to try to keep journalists out of the firing line," White said.
