Willow actor and silver screen legend Warwick Davis is not holding back about Disney’s removal of the Willow series. Davis recently took to social media to break his silence about the House of Mouse pulling its Willow series from the streaming platform as part of a broader cost-cutting initiative under Disney CEO Bob Iger.
“I meet lovely people on a daily basis who are fans of #Willow, who are the reason the @DisneyPlus series was made,” Davis wrote on X (formally known as Twitter). “Please tell me @WaltDisneyCo, what do I say to these subscribers when they ask why they can’t watch the series any more? #embarrassing”

A new adventure began last year on Disney+ with the premiere of “Willow” in November, a TV series adaptation/expansion of Ron Howard‘s 1988 fantasy adventure film. Unfortunately, we’ve learned this afternoon that Disney+ has already cancelled “Willow.” In all likelihood, not enough people tuned into Season 1 to justify the spend for another season.
Deadline reports, “Willow, which picked up years after the events of the film, did not have the zeitgeist cultural impact of the original but was well received by critics, getting a 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. While the series won’t continue, Willow remains an important IP in the Lucasfilm library so it may be revisited in the future.”
Jonathan Kasdan and Wendy Mericle were the showrunners for “Willow.”
“The series introduced all-new characters to the enchanted realm of fairy queens and two-headed Eborsisk monsters, and welcomed back its hero, Willow Ufgood, played once again by Warwick Davis.

"What do you two really think of each other?" Trinity Creative has revealed the official US trailer for the dark comedy film Decrypted, a wacky crypto film made by filmmaker Tom Sands. After debuting last year in the UK, the film is now available to watch on VOD in the US if anyone is curious - "the feature film that is taking the crypto community by storm." An outrageous and provocative film about a mismatched Nsa team who kidnap Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, to get the info they need to destroy cryptocurrencies. The botched interrogation forces together a group of people who then get into all kinds of trouble. The cast includes Talisa Garcia, Sophia Myles, David Hoflin, Amanda Abbington, Kevin McNally, Clive Francis, Aki Kotabe, Don Gilet, and Sophie Barker. This looks too dumb and kooky to be any good. But I'm glad someone is willing to...

The Disney+ series is a sequel, taking place 20 years after a young sorcerer named Willow helped a swordsman named Madmartigan (Val Kilmer) defeat Queen Bavmorda (Jean Marsh) to save the baby Elora -- prophesied to be an empress. The world needs him back now, and so does the new cast, including Erin Kellyman ("The Green Knight"), Ellie Bamber ("Les Misérables"), Ruby Cruz ("Mare of Easttown"), Tony Revolori ("Spider-Man: Far From Home"), Dempsey Bryk ("Black Mirror"), Amar Chadha-Patel ("Alladin"), and Talisa Garcia ("The Girlfriend Experience...

Disney’s Star Wars Celebration kicked off in Anaheim today, and the studio hit the ground running. Lucasfilm gave fans their best look so far at “Willow,” an upcoming Disney+ series based on the 1988 film of the same name. The first teaser reveals a return to the lush fantasy world that George Lucas and Ron Howard created in the original film, albeit with slightly more modern special effects.
The film “Willow” was originally conceived by George Lucas, who brought in Bob Dolman to write the screenplay and hired Ron Howard to direct. Expectations were sky-high when the film was released in 1988, with many expecting it to do for fantasy what “Star Wars” did for science fiction. While it never quite reached those heights, the film has gradually built up a cult following over the years.
When Disney acquired Lucasfilm in 2012, rumors about some kind of “Willow” sequel in the pipeline instantly began swirling.

UK crime drama The Missing ran for two seasons in 2014 and 2016 on BBC One, where it was a hit by anybody’s standards. The logical next step would have been a third and possibly fourth, fifth and sixth season, but none arrived. Instead, the show’s creators Harry and Jack Williams changed direction and created two seasons of a spin-off starring The Missing’s lead detective Julien Baptiste. With the British thriller now finding new fans internationally on Netflix, many are asking why season three of The Missing was never made.
The reason for the Williams Bros.’ switch to a spin-off was built into the original show’s premise. Seasons one and two of The Missing focused on failures in the long career of Det. Baptiste (Tchéky Karyo). The first was the disappearance of five-year-old Oliver Hughes, an English boy holidaying with his parents in a French town. The second...

Exclusive: Game Of Thrones alum Rosabell Laurenti Sellers is a new name in the cast of anticipated Disney+ and Lucasfilm series Willow.
In the TV spinoff of the 1980s fantasy classic, which is now in post-production, a princess assembles a party to join her on a quest to rescue her twin brother.
Among previously revealed cast are Tony Revolori, Amer Chadha-Patel , Ellie Bamber, Ruby Cruz, Erin Kellyman and Warwick Davis. And as we revealed last week, the casting of Talisa Garcia marks the first time Lucasfilm has cast a trans actor in one of its productions.
Much like she did to memorable effect in Game Of Thrones we hear Sellers will play a resourceful character with sharp, acerbic wit.
The actress is best known for playing Tyene Sand in HBO’s smash series. Sand was a daughter of Prince Oberyn Martell and his paramour Ellaria Sand, and one of the...

Talisa Garcia has been cast in Disney+’s Willow series, making history as the first openly trans woman to be cast in a Lucasfilm production. Garcia (Baptiste) will play a queen who is the mother of Tony Revolori’s character. The role is small, Deadline reports, but her casting is monumental for trans representation in television. And it is reportedly the first known time a trans actor has played a cisgender character in a Disney+ production. Garcia’s casting is especially noteworthy given that Disney and its CEO, Bob Chapek, have been under fire for the company’s actions surrounding Florida’s controversial “Don’t Say Gay” bill. Willow is a sequel series of the 1988 film of the same name which starred Warwick Davis, Val Kilmer, and Joanne Whalley.
