Slow Horses is finally back with a whole new season filled with espionage, institutional failure, corruption, dark jokes, and deadly farts. The Apple TV+ series recently came out with its much anticipated third season and once again it revolves around the MI5 failures who are occupying Slough House. In the new season, we see a member of the Slow Horses getting kidnapped and how the rest of the team fights with everything they have to get them back.
As always Slow Horses isn’t your typical spy thriller because its characters and stories are as far from James Bond as they could be, and in my opinion, that’s what made Slow Horses one of the best espionage thriller ever made.

Are we underestimating them: Winslet, Bening, Chastain, Haddish, Vega, Dench, Williams, Stone, Chau, Blige, Scott Thomas, Gadot
If you look around the web you'd suspect we are closer to Oscar nominations than we actually are. Two months remain before we have our Oscar nominations (57 days to be exact) so there's a month of campaigning left before the Academy even starts filling out their nomination ballots! Despite the plentiful time remaining and few precursors yet announcing (Nbr is first tomorrow), the internet seems convinced that we're narrowed down to about 6 or 7 players for 5 slots in virtually all the acting categories. But is it this cut and dry?
It's likely not.
We know the general field at this point but there's still a lot of wiggle room, some films/people are always underestimated and the reverse at this point. But even if none of the 12 women we've including in...

After years bouncing between the UK and France – with the occasional Hollywood blockbuster for good measure – the actor’s role in Sally Potter’s film The Party was filmed in 12 days, during which the EU referendum took place. The result made her feel rootless, she says
It’s late afternoon inside a quiet London pub, and Kristin Scott Thomas has lost all track of time. She is recalling her big break in the business, playing Prince’s love interest in Under the Cherry Moon. She says this was back in 1983. I tell her it was 1986, and she insists that can’t be right – she ought to know because she was 24 at the time, and she was born in 1960. This, of course, only adds to our confusion. “Date discrepancies,” she concludes blithely. “Welcome to my world. I’m afraid I do that a lot.”

A thrilling and inspiring true story begins on the eve of World War II as, within days of becoming Prime Minister of Great Britain, Winston Churchill (Academy Award nominee Gary Oldman) must face one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of a nation. As the unstoppable Nazi forces roll across Western Europe and the threat of invasion is imminent, and with an unprepared public, a skeptical King, and his own party plotting against him, Churchill must withstand his darkest hour, rally a nation, and attempt to change the course of world history.
It opens 22 November for the Us, January 12, 2018 for Ireland and the UK.

Kristin Scott Thomas came face-to-face with her next subject when she was made a Dame by Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday. The actress, 54, is set to play the queen, 88, in the play The Audience which opens next month in London's West End. She is replacing another Dame, Helen Mirren, who originated the role when the play first premiered in London in 2013. "[The queen] asked me what I was doing next, so I had to tell her and she said it would be quite a challenge," the star told reporters as she beamed with delight while showing off her medal at Buckingham Palace.

La belle saison
Director: Catherine Corsini // Writers: Catherine Corsini, Laurette Polmanss
French director Catherine Corsini isn’t very well known in the Us, though many should be familiar with her 2009 title Leaving, which headlined Kristin Scott Thomas. She’s premiered at Cannes on four occasions, last in 2012 in Un Certain Regard with Three Worlds (which happens to be one of her weaker efforts—Corsini played in the Main Comp in 2001 with La Repetition). Her latest, La belle saison (The Beautiful Summer), is set in 1971, and concerns the budding relationship between two women from very different walks of life, something which throws both their lives into turmoil (which sounds an awful lot like post-war Diane Kurys material). Corsini (who often features striking actresses in her work, including Catherine Frot, Scott Thomas, and Clotilde Hesme) snags Cecile de France as one part of this duo, not to mention the always engaging Noemie Lvovsky.

★★★★☆French director Philippe Claudel's noirish new thriller Before the Winter Chill (2013), starring Kristin Scott Thomas and Daniel Auteuil, follows the fortunes of middle-aged couple who find their marriage threatened by a troubled young woman. Paul (Auteuil) is a successful surgeon, popular with the staff at his clinic and his patients. His wife Lucie (Scott Thomas) spends her days tending their impressively large garden, baby-sitting their grand-daughter and visiting her depressed sister who is often sectioned. When red roses start arriving for Paul at the clinic and at home, the cracks in their marriage begin to appear. Lucie is obviously bored and isolated by her husband's career and long hours.

MTV is making slasher movies now. Why couldn't this have happened in my youth? Just imagine how much better this stuff would've been had it come from the "Golden Age" of the subgenre. Well, at least I would've found a likable character or two back then.
Anyway, the ongoing MTV slasher series My Super Psycho Sweet 16 is currently shooting a third installment. According to the official Facebook page: "Lauren McKnight aka Skye Rotter sent this photo from the set of Part 3 just for you guys!"
And according to a previous Facebook update: Scott Thomas and Jed Elinoff are writing the third installment to the My Super Psycho Sweet 16 trilogy and it's going to be the bloodiest, craziest, most intense party Skye has ever attended! If you want to know Wtf is going on, keep checking back for further updates!

The flick is still currently filming but already those gracious MTV folks have provided us with a new teaser trailer! Jacob Gentry returns to helm the TV-movie follow-up from a script penned by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas. When making anything slasher related the odds are always pretty good that it's going to have some kind of a sequel. Such is the case for MTV's entertaining little stabfest, "My Super Psycho Sweet 16". That's right, kids! We may not have any clue what time to tune into the network to see actual music related content any more, but who cares as long as there's a body count on the way?

Any '80s throwback worth its salt needs to leave the door open to a sequel. And Jacob Gentry's My Super Psycho Sweet 16 did just that. Whether you caught the film on MTV or not is moot, because Gentry and writers Jed Elinoff and Scott Alan Thomas have begun production on My Super Psycho Sweet 16: Part 2 . Lauren McKnight reprises her role as Skye and is also joined by Chris Zylka, Matt Angel, Myndy Crist, Alex Van and Gina Rodriguez. Shooting is taking place in Atlanta and continues the story of psychopath Charlie Rotter who, in the first film, turned a sweet 16 bash at a Rollerdome into a bloodbath. Jacob Gentry, who was one of the three brains behind the Sundance smash-hit The Signal, has just completed production on a new horror feature for MTV Films entitled My Super Psycho Sweet 16, which will get a limited theatrical run and air on MTV this October. Written by Jed Elinoff and Scott Alan Thomas, a privileged teen's birthday bash at a roller rink is interrupted by a serial killer. The title and concept plays off the network's reality hit "My Super Sweet 16," which chronicles the lavish birthday parties of pampered kids. Chris Zylka, Ric Reitz, Lauren McKnight, Matt Angel, Justin Price, Melanie Booth, Alex Van and Max Calder all star.

MTV has entered post-production on a slasher film entitled My Super Psycho Sweet 16 . The film is barreling along, sources tells us, for a fall release. I've got nil on plot details at this time, but I have learned that Jacob Gentry is sitting in the director's chair. He's part of triumvirate that brought us The Signal . Jed Elinoff and Scott Alan Thomas penned the script. Not entirely sure what kind of platform release the project is getting (small screen debut or theatrical); I've got my ear to the ground for more details. Stay tuned!
