Could Invincible be getting more seasons on Prime Video? According to Skybound Republic, an investment/crowdfunding site that allows fans to invest in the label, more episodes of the ultra-violent comic book action series are coming. In a since-deleted portion of the webpage, the site said Invincible Season 3 is in production, while the show had been renewed for Seasons 4 and 5. The webpage promotes a video game set in the Invincible universe, which fans can help fund. The crowdfunded project sits at $442,700 as of this posting, with 14 days to go in the campaign.
A portion of the mission statement for the campaign describes why making a video based on a licensed property causes some problems:
“Most crowdfunded video games are centered around indie games, and retail investors rarely have the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of Aaa game publishers. Skybound is developing a highly produced, high-octane blood bath that is anything but indie.

The stoner action-comedy film “Pineapple Express” set needed more aspirin on its set than weed.
Each of the principal actors got seriously hurt on the shoot, Danny McBride says — otherwise, it was a total “blast.” In a recent interview with GQ (video below), the “Foot Fist Way” alum rattled off his injuries from the shoot — as well as the ones suffered by leads Seth Rogen and James Franco.
A central fight scene between the trio of actors in the 2008 film led to broken bones, at least one concussion, and two split skulls.
“That fight scene was crazy. We were going for it, so everybody got injured,” McBride said. “I think Seth broke his hand or his finger or something and Franco had split his forehead open. Like that’s why he has a bandana for most of the movie with sweatbands because he had actually split his forehead open. He had a big scar there,...

It appears Ezra Miller was quietly recast as mad scientist D.A. Sinclair in Season 2 of Prime Video’s Invincible.
Miller voiced the character in one episode in the first season of the adult animated series, but when Sinclair appeared in the March 28th episode, the character was voiced by Eric Bauza.
Deadline has reached out to Prime Video for comment.
Miller, embattled star of The Flash and Fantastic Beasts, has been embroiled in multiple scandals. Last year, they pleaded guilty to unlawful trespassing in a burglary case in Vermont after cutting a plea deal ahead of the hearing. In 2022, Miller agreed to mental health treatment after a string of run-ins with the law.
Based on the Skybound/Image comic, from The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman, Invincible revolves around 18-year-old Mark Grayson, voiced by Steven Yeun, who’s just like every other guy his...

Invincible, the hit animated superhero Prime Video series, has garnered a passionate fanbase. It follows a story of a teenager named Mark Grayson who discovers he has superpowers just like his father (the seemingly heroic alien superhero Omni-Man).
Mark starts out as a regular guy trying to juggle school and a part-time job. But as he develops his powers, he gets trained by his dad and enters the world of superheroes. However, things take a dark turn when Mark finds out a shocking truth about his father’s past.
A still from Invincible
The show deals with family, growing up, and the cost of being a hero. Fans like the animated series because it’s not afraid to show the brutal side of superhero fights. The characters are well-developed, and the story keeps viewers hooked for what comes next.

Here’s some cowabunga-worthy news: the heroes in a half-shell will officially be back. One of the greatest cinematic delights of 2023 was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem – the all-action animated adventure from director Jeff Rowe and writer-producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, which dared to make the teenage turtles actual teenagers, and doused the entire affair in a distinctive fuzzy-pencil art style and ‘90s hip-hop hits to boot. As unveiled in a Paramount release slate, the follow-up to Mutant Mayhem is underway, and expected to release on 9 October 2026. What a time to be alive for superhero fans. We have '90s "X-Men" throwbacks to cater to the Millennial demographic, "Deadpool & Wolverine" is already shattering records and is about to become the obsession of every Ryan Reynolds-loving normie you know, and even "Madame Web" came through to deliver the early aughts superhero disaster you never knew you needed.
In the midst of it all is "Invincible," the Prime Video animated series that has quickly become a darker, edgier, and more violent alternative for fans who can't quite get their fix from Marvel or DC on the big screen. Now in its critically acclaimed second season, the show doubled down on the blood and gore in the continued adventures of Mark Grayson. The final half of “Invincible” is nearly here, and Prime Video has released the first trailer for the bloody finale to Season 2.
Season 2 Part 2, which consists of four episodes, begins streaming on Prime Video on March 14 and will release each episode weekly.
Part 1 released back in November and ended on several cliffhangers, with Invincible, aka Mark Grayson, bumping into his father Omni-Man, who tried to kill him in the Season 1 finale, on an alien planet. The tense reunion got even more awkward when Omni-Man revealed he had fathered a child with one of the insectoid alien members. Together, Invincible and Omni-Man barely defeated three Viltrumite attackers, who took Omni-Man back to their base and ordered Invincible to prepare Earth for takeover.
The Season 2 Part 2 trailer teases even more bloody, limb-snapping, intergalactic action. Invincible returns to space and must handle an invasion from the mind-controlling, parasitic aliens seen in the first season.

Please consider this edition of Fiscal Spotlight a public service announcement warning you that there are a mere eight days remaining before Valentine’s Day. Cutting it close for any truly bigass plans, but still plenty of time to pick up chalky Russell Stovers and mass-manufactured fluffy teddy bear squishies from Cvs. And yes, you’ll need to buy a card and figure out yet another way to poeticize and artfully obfuscate the same basic premise: “Thank you for not valuing your autonomous personhood enough to leave me, which would thus double the cost of many of my critical domestic financial obligations.”
Just kidding! We love love. We’re nice people who love our partners and pets, of course, but as connoisseurs of the arts we also love love as the animating dramatic element in our favorite stories, songs and celebrity TikTok meltdowns. Which is why for this most amorous...

Superbad is more than you think. Beyond being one of the most beloved and cherished teen-comedy films ever made- it also stands as heartfelt tale about friendship and moving on. However, today we’re not going to talk about any of those things… Today, we’re going to sit back and take a look at one of the funniest scenes in the entire film which features the story’s debut of two local cops who are very, Very bad at catching criminals.
Originally written for Kyle Gass, the role of Officer Michaels ended up going to the very creator of the story- Seth Rogen. Rogen and his long-time writing partner, Evan Goldberg, wrote the original treatment for Superbad when they were just teenagers themselves. However, even with brilliant writing, some things had to be developed past the imagination of the film’s writers. That’s where Bill Hader comes in.

Universal has entered into a first-look film partnership with Point Grey Pictures, the production company of Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver. The deal comes following the companies’ past work together on breakout comedy hits including the Neighbors franchise, Good Boys and Blockers.

Point Grey Pictures, the powerhouse production company run by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver, has signed a first-look deal with Universal Pictures.
Details of the deal are being kept in a purple haze but it is being described as a traditional film pact in which Point Grey will produce movies across various genres.
The company previously had a content deal with Lionsgate, a pact signed in 2019, and prior to that, with production company Good Universe. Sources say Point Grey’s television deal will remain with Lionsgate.
Point Grey and Universal have worked together before. The banner produced comedy hits Neighbors, and its sequel, both in which Rogen starred, as well as the very well-regarded comedy Good Boys and the profitable Blockers.

Ayo Edebiri has won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy for “The Bear.” The award marks her first Golden Globe win and her first nomination. Edebiri is also nominated for a Primetime Emmy in the same category.
Edebiri has emerged as one of the biggest breakout stars of 2023 thanks to her return to “The Bear” and her high-profile starring role alongside Rachel Sennott in “Bottoms.” She also voiced April O’Neil in Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s well-received “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” and appeared in “Theater Camp.”

Following The Film Stage’s collective top 50 films of 2023, as part of our year-end coverage, our contributors are sharing their personal top 10 lists.
In 2023, I wanted to laugh. Perhaps more than I realized, because when I finally calculated my top-rated films that came out this year, a great portion of my selections turned out to be either straight-up comedies or gripping comedy-dramas. 2023 was the year I embraced funny and moving movie coming-of-age stories probably more than any other, but to me, that genre isn’t only limited to what happens when 11-year-old girls experience their period for the first time or when Elvis Presley decides to take a child bride. For example, Paul Giamatti’s acidic classics teacher experiences something like a middle-aged puberty when he’s forced to care for an abandoned prep school kid during Christmas break in The Holdovers. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been around since the ‘80s. They’ve starred in several animated TV series, live-action movies from Jim Henson costumes to CGI turtles, and two animated films. The latest, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, reinvents the comic book heroes in several ways.
Perhaps taking a cue from the Spider-Verse movies, Mutant Mayhem uses an animation style that is not a straightforward depiction of its world. You can tell it’s New York and there are turtles and other mutants, but the animation combines styles like teenage sketchbooks to create a livelier viewing experience.
The film sticks to the turtles’ origins, mutated by green ooze along with their father figure, the rat named Splinter. The experiments by scientist Baxter Stockman (voice of Giancarlo Esposito) led to the creation of some familiar mutants like Bebop (Seth Rogen) and Rocksteady (John Cena), along with some new...

Plenty have been introduced to "Invincible" by the Prime Video animated series, but the title had a long history before that; it ran as a comic from 2003 to 2018, racking up 144 issues as one of Image Comics' premier series. That Kirkman wrote it and "The Walking Dead" almost simultaneously (they started and ended around the same time) is quite the feat.
The "Invincible" series wasn't even the first adaptation of the comic announced. In 2017 (when the comic was in its final stretch), The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg would be co-writing and co-directing an "Invincible" movie. Kirkman would be directly involved, producing the movie via his company Skybound Entertainment; Skybound has a first-look deal with Universal Pictures, so that would be the studio distributing "Invincible."
In the THR piece, Kirkman praised the duo as the long-awaited "right team" for adapting his "surprising, edgy, shocking, and oftentimes blood-soaked story.

The fact that Jenna Ortega won’t be in Scream 7 was a shocking announcement last month (apparently her absence from the sequel is due to a pay dispute), but there are still going to be plenty of chances to see her on our screens regularly. She’s set to start filming Wednesday season 2 in a few months, she’s in the crime thriller Finestkind (which just started streaming on Paramount+ last Friday), and on January 26th she’ll be back on the big screen when Lionsgate gives the psychological thriller Miller’s Girl a theatrical release. With that release date just one month away, a trailer for Miller’s Girl has arrived online and can be seen in the embed above.

Can men and women ever truly be "just friends?" Well, considering I'm a disco-dancing, Oscar Wilde-reading, Streisand ticket-holding friend of Dorothy ... that's never been a problem for me. However, I've heard some downright horror stories from my straight gal pals regarding their relationships with other straight men, and likewise, I've listened to many a tale of my straight guy friends worried that their feelings for straight girl friends were becoming romantic. But this is by no means the dominant narrative. Platonic relationships between men and women are not only possible but extremely common, despite what a majority of TV shows and movies would have us believe.
This is why the half-hour Apple TV+ comedy series "Platonic" has been such a refreshing new watch. Starring and executive produced by Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen, and co-created, directed, and co-written by Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco, "Platonic" centers on a pair...

Jenna Ortega is trying on playing a seductress for size. The “Beetlejuice 2” and “Wednesday” star leads psychological thriller “Miller’s Girl” in what appears to be a ’90s-esque tale of twisted teen power dynamics set against the backdrop of an elite university.
Martin Freeman stars as the titular Mr. Miller, a teacher who becomes entangled with talented student Cairo (Ortega), who has an agenda all her own. As 18-year-old Cairo taunts Mr. Miller into a game of truth or dare, a more sinister scheme of blackmailing ensues.
The official synopsis reads: “A talented young writer (Ortega) embarks on a creative odyssey when her teacher (Freeman) assigns a project that entangles them both in an increasingly complex web. As lines blur and their lives intertwine, professor and protégé must confront their darkest selves while straining to preserve their individual sense of purpose and the things they hold most dear.”
