While the characters were busy dating, the series’ cast was not. None of the main Sex and the City cast members dated any of the show’s guest stars. One cast member dated someone who was almost on the show.

Actress Cynthia Nixon credits her role in Sex And The City with giving her the confidence to come out as a lesbian.
Nixon, 42, who plays workaholic, red-headed lawyer Miranda Hobbes on the hit series-turned-feature film, opened up about her relationship with longtime partner Christine Marioni in 2004, after the pair had been dating for over a year.
And, although the actress laughed off reports she is to wed Marioni just last week, she admits her outspoken role on the hit show is responsible for much of her relationship success.
She says, "(My character has) given me more permission to speak up for myself than I used to."
Nixon has previously hailed her relationship with Marioni for helping her successfully beat breast cancer, after she revealed her struggle with the disease during a U.S. TV interview earlier this year.
Nixon ended her 15-year relationship to husband Danny Mozes in 2002, with whom she has two children.

The Sex and the City star, 42, underwent surgery and six-and-a-half weeks of daily radiation treatment after she was diagnosed with the disease in 2006 - and the experience has prompted lesbian Nixon's desire to cement her union to Marinoni with an official declaration of the couple's commitment to one another.
A source tells the National Enquirer, "Cynthia and Chris want a quiet autumn ceremony in Vermont under the red leaves.
"It's supposed to be a very low-key gathering, just for close friends and family."

The stars of Sex and the City: The Movie squealed happily as they reunited on the red carpet Monday night at a Point Foundation benefit in New York City. Getting all four actresses in one place is "very rare," Sarah Jessica Parker, wearing a silvery dress and shoes by Yves St. Laurent, told People. "On the set, we eventually got used to seeing each other, so we didn't scream as much." Meanwhile the reunion was going straight to Kim Cattrall's head. "It's like champagne," she said of seeing all her fellow costars. "It's intoxicating. My heart flutters a little bit.

Former Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon insists she never suppressed her lesbianism, despite having left her male partner Danny Mozes for a woman in 2003. The red-haired actress fell in love with Christine Marinoni, a relationship which turned her life upside down. But she maintains there was no internal struggle with her sexuality, claiming she simply fell in love with someone else - and gender is immaterial. She says, "I never felt like there was an unconscious part of me around that woke up or that came out of the closet. There wasn't a struggle, there wasn't an attempt to suppress. I met this woman, I fell in love with her, and I'm a public figure."...

Actress Kristin Davis faced a tough line of questioning during a visit to David Letterman's chat show on Wednesday night, when she was quizzed about pal Cynthia Nixon's lesbian relationship. Davis appeared on the show to promote her new movie The Adventures Of Shark Boy & Lava Girl In 3-D, but within minutes of taking a seat, Letterman grilled her about Nixon's romance with Christine Marinoni. When Letterman enquired if Nixon is a lesbian or if she's "just visiting", Davis answered, "I don't personally know but I think she says that she doesn't need a label. Doesn't need one, isn't concerned about it..." The funnyman also raised a laugh when he asked if Danny Mozes, the father of Nixon's two children, "turned" also, before admitting of Nixon's romance, "In a way, it's kind of hot." While Davis is heterosexual, she informed Letterman she would "never say never" to the idea of one day having a relationship with a woman herself.
