Luna Films today announced that James Marshall (Twin Peaks) and Louis Mandylor (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) have signed to star in the new series Three Knee Deep, which goes into production in Bucharest in January 2018… Marshall is hot off Showtime’s Twin Peaks, in which he reprised his role of James Hurley, while Mandylor recently completed work on Jesse V. Johnson’s The Pay Up. Holt Boggs, Adam Horner, Manuela Harabor and Marius Stanescu co-star in the series.
A harrowing psychological drama set against the backdrop of the world of “black op” special rendition and detention, the show will follow the lives of a handful of criminals incarcerated in a secret prison and the lengths that certain government officials will go to get what they want.
The first season of Three Knee Deep will consist of 5 episodes, and will be shopped upon completion. Bobby Barbacioru directs and produces under his Luna Films umbrella.

Twin Peaks Recap is a weekly column by Keith Uhlich covering David Lynch and Mark Frost's limited, 18-episode continuation of the Twin Peaks television series. The best things come to those who wait, and Big Ed Hurley (Everett McGill) has long been dreaming of the moment that opens Part 15 of Mark Frost and David Lynch's Twin Peaks revival. "I've been a selfish bitch to you all these years," says his one-eyed wife Nadine (Wendy Robie), who's walked a long way—a Dr. Jacoby/Dr. Amp gold, shit-digging shovel slung over her shoulder—to the cash-only Gas Farm that Ed has run for most of his life. She states the obvious: Ed is in love with Rr Diner propietor Norma Jennings (Peggy Lipton), and she, Nadine, has always stood in his way. Those days are finally over. Ed is reluctant to think of this as anything beyond another of his spouse's manic episodes.

Twin Peaks is a show about respect. This, perhaps, is a strange thing to say about a series that routinely violates time, space, sanity and basic human decency. And that's to say nothing of the relatively run-of-the mill mockery it makes of its many lovable goofballs, from Dr. Jacoby to Dougie Jones. But this week's episode demonstrates the tremendous reverence and compassion with which co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost depict people at their most defenseless.
Let's start with the unexpectedly happy ending the show serves up to Big Ed Hurley and Norma Jennings,...

“Twin Peaks” hasn’t exactly abounded in moments of tenderness these last few months, but the end of “Part 2” remains a highlight: “James is cool,” Shelly says of her old classmate James Hurley. “James was always cool.” Whether or not that’s actually true might not rank among the revival’s most hotly debated questions, but it’s one that actor James Marshall was kind enough to address in a recent Vulture interview: “I don’t think of myself that way or the character that way,” he admits.

Twin Peaks Recap is a weekly column by Keith Uhlich covering David Lynch and Mark Frost's limited, 18-episode continuation of the Twin Peaks television series. It's James Hurley's (James Marshall) birthday and he wants a present. Not that he's demanding it—no, no. James is cool. He's always been cool. So in that affable way of his that can be equal parts endearing and insufferable, he asks his going-on-23-year-old coworker, Freddie Sykes (Jake Wardle)—a U.K. to U.S. transplant who, like James, is a security guard at the Great Northern Hotel—to explain why he's always wearing a green gardener's glove on his right hand. "Tell me the story," he says to Freddie. The young man obliges the birthday boy with a captivating tale ("you ain't gonna believe me anyway," he prefaces) of a man in the sky called The Fireman, who told him to buy the glove,...

You never know how and when Twin Peaks will push you to the brink of tears – all you know is that it will. Perhaps it happened in this week's episode when FBI Director Gordon Cole recalled the last sighting of his old partner, Agent Philip Jeffries – played by David Bowie, shown alive and well 25 years ago in a clip from Fire Walk With Me. Maybe it was when Sarah Palmer staggered into a local bar for a drink, all but begging a loudmouth goon down the bar to leave her alone.

Nope, no Audrey Horne on Twin Peaks this week. I think the solution to her ever-deepening mystery won’t be wrapped up for at least a few more episodes. And for the record, I do not believe she is an actress or somehow trapped inside the soap opera “Invitation To Love” from the original series. I mean, c’mon, think about it, that makes no sense. She’s an actress in a soap opera playing a character with her own name? A soap opera that references events taking place in her hometown? That’s completely absurd (right??). That theory is...

Twin Peaks seems like a very confusing show unless you happen to be a fan and watch it religiously. But this song is simply haunting in its message and its simplicity. It sounds very much like testament to how much a man cares for a woman and what kind of dedication he will give to her. Obviously it is enough of a tear jerker to really affect the mood of a woman for whom it’s meant. These type of tender moments seem to be thrown in now and again to show that a program does indeed deal with matters of

While last week’s Twin Peaks may have concentrated on trials and tribulations of the smaller people, this week we got back to the what the Doppelganger (Kyle MacLachlan) is getting up to. Giving us an arm wrestling competition we’ll never forget, we were also treated to a bit of nostalgia.
With Dougie reaping the rewards of his encounter with Bradley and Rodney Mitchum (John Belushi and Robert Knepper) it seems he brings luck to all of those around him. With the Doppelganger finding out a few surprising things about his escape from prison, he manages to catch the attention of a watching Richard Horne (Eamon Farren).
It may be funny to watch the Dougie scenes, but this week it is the other side of Cooper that gets the best scenes. The arm wrestling that he takes part in with Ranzo (Derek Mears) is a sign of just how much power he has.

You may not realize it, but Lara Flynn Boyle’s Donna — the heart of the original series, the activated burgeoning girl detective, my one true love — returned to Twin Peaks Sunday.
Where exactly was she in the show? Well, it’s complicated. First, her face appeared in an old framed photo (of Laura and Donna, from the original series) sitting on a side table in Sarah Palmer’s living room. Then her voice (it was indeed Boyle’s voice) wafted out over the Road House as James Hurley sang his sweet, crazy, retro 50’s ballad “Just You And I” from Season 2. (Yes,...

What's worse: Crushing a person's skull or crushing their spirit? The back-from-the-dead Twin Peaks has seen its fair share of the former violation, courtesy of the supernaturally strong denizens of the Black Lodge. When those demonic entities are around – whether they're Woodsmen assaulting radio-station employees or Dale Cooper's evil doppelganger shattering a rival criminal's face with a single punch after an arm-wrestling bout – no cranium is safe. Major spoilers below for “Twin Peaks: The Return” up to Part 13. Part 13 of “Twin Peaks: The Return” was filled with memorable moments — like when Evil Cooper toyed with a man at arm wrestling before killing him — but one of the most memorable was one of the most understated. David Lynch has made a habit out of ending each part with a musical performance. Most so far have been guest spots for artists such as Trent Reznor, so when James Hurley (James Marshall) took the stage, viewers knew they were in for something different. Kyle MacLachlan, cast, wax lyrical about show co-creator.
David Lynch did not attend the Twin Peaks panel on Friday afternoon, although the Hall H session focused on little else as panellists including show veteran Kyle MacLachlan extolled his virtues.
MacLachlan, who reprises his role as FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper in the returning series on Showtime 27 years after the original series and 25 years after spin-off film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, said he owed his film and TV career to Lynch.
“He brought me up into film and spoiled me,” MacLachlan said. “He’s very accessible to all of us and he’s very open and available and then there’s a point at which he goes into a place that’s purely David.
“It’s like this is him as the artist. At that point I become like a fan. Now he’s my pal but when he goes there he’s a real artist...

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from “Twin Peaks: The Return” episodes as they’re released weekly.]
Even if you recently re-watched the first two seasons of “Twin Peaks” through the magic of streaming, that doesn’t mean you’ll necessarily recognize everyone who’s come back for the Showtime revival.
Part of the problem is that there are a lot of people to keep track of. Though it’s a small town, it’s still a freakin’ town with a heathy population that thrives on that sweet mountain air. Even considering that some people end up dead, like Laura Palmer, that doesn’t necessarily preclude their return.

Twin Peaks Recap is a weekly column by Keith Uhlich covering David Lynch and Mark Frost's limited, 18-episode continuation of the Twin Peaks television series. The world's gone mad. Fortunately for FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan), he's been able to sit out most of the real-life insanity of the last 25 years. Unfortunately—as surely known by those viewers familiar with Mark Frost and David Lynch's singular television series Twin Peaks, which returned Sunday, May 21st for a limited, 18-episode run on Showtime—that's because he's been trapped in the unearthly purgatory known as the Black Lodge, all while his devilish doppelgänger, a mortal manifestation of the murderous spirit known as Killer Bob, runs amok among mankind.Already it feels like I'm speaking in tongues. But if Twin Peaks and Lynch (who directed, co-wrote, co-edited, and designed the sound for all of these new episodes) have taught us anything,...

In the last episode of Twin Peaks, Laura Palmer made a promise to “see you in 25 years.” Well, it’s been a torturously long wait, but that deadline has expired and the show’s much-anticipated return is now just two months away.
Typically for a Lynch project, we have absolutely no idea what to expect from this new series, with only a smattering of teaser posters to whet our appetites. But now we finally have a glimpse of what we’ll see, courtesy of EW publishing a few images of some familiar faces (and a couple of newcomers).
The photos show us the return of Peggy Lipton as Norma Jennings, Madchen Amick as Shelly Johnson, James Marshall as James Hurley, David Duchovny as Denise Bryson, and Miguel Ferrer (who sadly died in January) as Albert Rosenfield. It’s got to be a good omen that we...

When announced last year, the whole web went berserk upon hearing the news that Lynch and co-creator Mark Frost would return for a limited series of Twin Peaks. However, due to a series of complications in the financial department, network brass refused to offer Lynch the additional time he required to properly hammer out the scripts. After a long period in which Lynch struggled to iron out negotiations with Showtime, he ultimately decided to drop out of the forthcoming season.
Immediately afterwards, Showtime posted an official statement suggesting it was fully intending to do everything in its power to lock down Lynch. Since then we’ve heard no new developments from Lynch or Showtime’s camps, but there is now a newly-launched video campaign designed to Save Twin Peaks!
In light of the iconoclastic filmmaker’s exit, the original cast of Twin Peaks have taken the matter into their own hands.

With the series over and having made a decision to not leave Twin Peaks just yet, David Lynch set about making a prequel to the TV series as part of a newly signed four picture deal with production company Ciby 2000. Much of the cast would be reprising their roles from the series to tell the tale of the last seven days of Laura Palmer.
Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me (1992)
Filming began in September 1991 back in Snoqualmie, Washington. Sheryl Lee went from being mainly dead in the series to being the main role in the movie. The film begins with a television set being destroyed signifying that the safe standards of television censorship are over. We then find ourselves in the company of one FBI Agent Chet Desmond (Chris Isaak) who is assigned to the murder of Teresa Banks with his bookish partner Sam Stanley (Kiefer Sutherland). The two of them investigate the murder,...

Here’s an amazing mash-up of Parks And Recreation and Twin Peaks, appropriately titled Peaks And Recreation. It’s a no-brainery idea, it’s executed perfectly, and it’s over after a mere 20 seconds, leaving even us attention-span-ruined internetters wanting to see more (like, the entire series. What does the Andy Dwyer / James Hurley band sound like??) Internet, I know we have a contentious relationship, in that I genuinely hate you and constantly exclaim how much I hate you, but as always, here I am crawling back. Sometimes, you just nail it: (via Flavorpill)...

On the heels of coverage stemming from our set visit (read it here) to the short flick "Night of the Little Dead" and just prior to giving you an exclusive peek at the titular monster (stay tuned!), we thought we’d share with you this behind-the-scenes clip produced by Peter Podgursky.
Co-directed by filmmaker, FX artist and "Face Off" reality series celebrity Frank Ippolito and Ezekiel Zabrowski, "Night of the Little Dead" stars Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects), Adam Savage (of the series "Mythbusters"), comedian Penn Jillette, James Hurley, Erica Taylor, Gary Morgan, Aye Jaye and actor Martin Klebba (Feast II/III and "The Cape") in the titular role - a handful of whom you’ll see chatting about the flick in the video below.
Ippolito describes the plot as follows: “It takes place in a little bar/diner/bait shop kind of thing in a small Wisconsin fishing town.

Cinema has spent much time exploring ways in which to protect the ol’ noggin from unwanted noshing by the undead, but what of the more vertically challenged zombie? Dare we ask what body parts they may prefer? Co-directed by Frank Ippolito and Ezekiel Zabrowski, the currently in post-production ‘short’ film (pun intended) Night of the Little Dead intends to answer that question, and Dread hit the Sun Valley, CA set this past January 18th to find out.
“A couple of years ago, Charlie Chiodo and I were talking about ridiculous concepts for things, like Snakes On A Plane, and we started talking about midget zombies, and I said, ‘Night of the Little Dead!’” Ippolito told us from the makeup trailer of the film’s inception. “Charlie thought it was an awesome idea, so we started coming up with rough story ideas.”
