Jane Kachmer is a 20-year veteran of the talent management and film
industry. Jane is responsible for igniting the careers of world
renowned big wave surfer, Laird Hamilton, and former pro beach
volleyball star and model, Gabrielle Reece. Her talent management
company, Kachmer Management, provides comprehensive marketing,
personalized management and corporate sponsorships for professional
athletes and their growing businesses. Jane is currently working with
Gabrielle Reece on Gabby's new magazine-style broadcast titled The
HoneyLine, which airs on The Rachael Ray Show. The HoneyLine interviews
guests such as Sheryl Crow and Courteney Cox to help get answers to
women's modern day questions about health &fitness and balancing
relationships in the home to concerns about the global climate. Jane is
a partner in the creation and production of www.theHoneyLine.com
website and co-produced fitness DVDs with Gabrielle Reece under their
Viola Entertainment LLC banner. She is simultaneously helping launch
Laird Hamilton's fitness book, "Force of Nature: Mind, Body, Soul, and
Of Course, Surfing" which hit retailers in October 2008. Jane also
manages big wave surfer, Dave Kalama, Laird Hamilton's tow-partner. She
recently joined the Natural Resource Defense Council's (NRDC)
Leadership Council, which works to protect wildlife and wild places to
ensure a healthy environment for all life on earth. Jane shares her
time as the executive producer and partner in BamMan Films, a
production company she created with Laird Hamilton and Dave Kalama.
BamMan specializes in action sports programming and entertainment,
specifically surf inspired films and commercials. BamMan produced the
newly released film 'Water Man', which won Best Cinematography at the
2008 Surfer Poll Awards. BamMan produced 'Path of Purpose' a short
documentary close to Jane's heart about Laird Hamilton and Dave
Kalama's efforts to help fund and raise awareness for Autism. 'Path of
Purpose' premiered on the Sundance Channel in July 2008. 'All Aboard
the Crazy Train' (2005) is another critically acclaimed film produced
by BamMan as well as the films The Ride/The Day and Riding Giants. The
Ride/The Day won Best Picture at the X-Dance Film Festival in 2004, and
the critically-acclaimed big-wave surfing documentary, Riding Giants
was featured opening night at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival and
acquired by Sony Pictures Classics just days after its premiere. BamMan
also produced Strapped (2002) and Laird - White Knuckle Extreme (2001).
Jane has an extensive career in the entertainment industry reaching back to the mid 1980s, where she began her career at Progressive Artists Agency. Jane quickly started managing actor, Mickey Rourke, and ran his production company RedRuby Productions until 1992. Jane became involved early on in film production with films such as Angel Heart, Barfly, Prayer for the Dying, Francesco and White Sands and was an associate producer on 'Homeboy'.
Two of Jane's most well known productions are Coty's Davidoff and American Express commercials featuring Laird, which ran during the 2005 Academy Awards show. Other production credits include: executive producer on Fit TV's Insider Training, producer on 'The Ride' a one hour television show for National Geographic (2004), producer on A Film about T.J. Lavin (2003), the opening sequence 'big wave stunt' for the James Bond Film, Die Another Day (2000), and Gabrielle Reece's book, "Big Girl In The Middle" (1997).
