Selby Barrett
- Additional Crew
Selby Barrett joined forces with Natasha Walker to create The Klinic
Entertainment Group, Inc., and serves as Producer of Film and TV. With
more than 18 years in the entertainment business, Selby holds a
Bachelors' degree in TV and Radio Broadcasting from Colorado State
University. She also excelled at UCLA Extension, taking courses in Film
Script Analysis and Theatrical Marketing & Publicity. As a result of
her skills in production and in theatrical marketing and publicity, she
has worked on many key projects in the entertainment arena.
Currently in development to produce the theatrical release of the Doug Williams' biopic, Selby served as Consulting Producer for "Chef Creole's Seasoned Kitchen," which is currently being shopped to The Food Network and other cable and syndicated companies. She has worked in production on several films, including an independent feature film entitled "Tournament of Dreams," as well as "New Jack City" and "House Party 2," in addition to numerous short films and independents. Earlier in her career, she worked as an associate producer for such projects as The Discovery Channel's "Start-To-Finish," KUSA's "Good Afternoon Colorado" (an affiliate of NBC) and the WAM! Channel (part of the Encore/Starz! Network).
Selby took a break from production to gain knowledge in Theatrical Marketing and Publicity, thus working on independent films as a Unit Publicist and as a Media Relations Executive/Publicist for several PR boutiques. She then took on the position of a Publicity Executive at DreamWorks SKG/United International Pictures, working to produce press junkets, premieres and red carpet events on feature films such as "Amistad," "Mousehunt," "Paulie," "Deep Impact," "Saving Private Ryan," "Small Soldiers," "ANTZ," "Prince of Egypt," "In Dreams," "Forces of Nature," "The Haunting," "Galaxy Quest," "Love Letter," "American Beauty" (garnering the coveted Publicity Guild Award), "The Road To El Dorado," "Road Trip," "Gladiator," "Small Time Crooks," "Chicken Run," "What Lies Beneath" and "Almost Famous." While at DreamWorks, Selby also handled media arrangements and set-up for the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards.
Selby continued working independently on such projects as "Deliver Us From Eva," the 2nd Annual BET Awards and the Lady of Soul Awards, where she oversaw and/or worked to assemble the production of press junkets, premieres and red carpet events.
She recently rejoined forces with her DreamWorks colleagues after their merger with Paramount Pictures, lending her assistance on such film projects as "Dreamgirls" and "Transformers the Movie."
Other companies Selby worked with include Quincy Jones Entertainment, Jackson/McHenry Productions, Tobin & Associates, Miramax Films, Saban Entertainment, The Walt Disney Company, Disney Interactive, Sony Pictures, and Orion Pictures.
