- Michael McDonald appeared in more than 100 film and TV productions. He took the name "Michael" from his grandfather in 1965 when he discovered there was another Tom McDonald already registered with SAG. Michael--or Tom as friends and family knew him--was a founding member of the Angels Company, for many years the oldest professional repertory company in Los Angeles. He also was active in John Houseman's original Theatre Group at UCLA and studied directing with Harold Clurman in New York.
