The childhood home of Beyoncé caught fire early Christmas morning, leaving the pop star’s old house wrapped in flames well into the second story.
Officials told ABC 13 that the fire was reported around 2 am, but was quickly put out once fire teams arrived. “They did a great job,” District Chief Justin Barnes told ABC 13. “I’m going to say in less than 10 minutes, we had a really good grip on this fire.”
While the Knowles family moved out years ago, the home is still considered a landmark in Houston’s Third Ward.

The movie will be based on Racism from the Eyes of a Child – the pop mogul’s book about his early life in pre-civil rights Alabama
A memoir by Beyoncé Knowles’ father Mathew Knowles is to become a feature film, detailing his early years as a student activist.
According to a report in Variety, Knowles’ 2017 book Racism from the Eyes of a Child is in active development as a film, with plans for a TV series as well. The book covers Knowles’ childhood in pre-civil rights Alabama, during which he has said he attended “all-white” high schools and universities: “I had been beaten, I’ve been electrically prodded, I’ve been spit on, I’ve been humiliated, all sorts of trauma.” Knowles graduated from Fisk University in Nashville, an Hbcu (historically black college or university).

Mathew Knowles, the prolific music manager and father to artists Beyoncé and Solange, is ready to take his life story to the screen.
Knowles has partnered with production company Say Unkel Entertainment to adapt his 2017 memoir “Racism From the Eyes of a Child” into both a feature film and a limited series, Variety can report exclusively.
The film will cover the first half of his book and recount Knowles’ early years growing up at the epicenter of the race riots in early ‘60’s Alabama. He was one of six black students to attend an all-white school and participated in peaceful protests where he was burned with a cattle-prod and, on one occasion, arrested four times in one day.
His early struggles have been referenced and documented in numerous works by daughter Beyoncé, including the watershed music video “Formation” and in her various documentary films – most recently in the theatrical release “Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce.

Queen Bey has arrived on the box office stage.
Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé — which Beyoncé wrote, directed and produced — started off its run on the big screen Thursday night with a better-than-expected $5 million in North American previews.
The concert movie is tracking for a debut in the $20 million range, which would mark the biggest opening for the first weekend of December. It should also top this weekend’s chart. And with a perfect 100 percent critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes and a near-perfect 99 percent audience score, Renaissance come in ahead of expectations.
The weekend after Thanksgiving is notoriously sluggish, and Renaissance is a welcome gift for exhibitors. It should also top this weekend’s chart.
Taylor Swift with her blockbuster Eras Tour movie, Beyoncé and her team decided to bypass Hollywood studios and pact and pact with AMC Theatres distribute Renaissance, which chronicles her recent world tour while also providing behind-the-scenes footage of the superstar.

It’s been 470 calendar days since Beyoncé gave her stans an inkling that a Renaissance visual album was coming. In the year following the release of her seventh studio album, the BeyHive relied on their improvisational skills to keep them engaged throughout its nontraditional rollout. They made viral dance challenges to “Cuff It” on TikTok; tried to replicate Bey’s melismatic bridge from “Virgo’s Groove”; and when the came time for everybody to be “on mute” during the “Energy” segment of Renaissance World Tour shows, cities across the world...

Destiny’s Child kept things “Jumpin’, Jumpin’” from the time that they released their self-titled debut album through the unveiling of Destiny Fulfilled in 2004, but that will never be enough for fans who are still holding out hope for a reunion in 2023.
The group – comprised of Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams at the time of their final album – has of course gone on to slay the scene with various solo careers.
However, the question on fans’ minds in 2023 is if they will ever reunite.
The trio hopped onstage for a segment during Beyonce‘s headlining set at the 2013 Super Bowl a decade ago. They did the same in 2018 when she headlined Coachella.
More recently, all but one member of Destiny’s Child attended Beyonce‘s Renaissance World Tour performance in Houston, Texas.

It’s been four years since singer Beyonce’s last headlining show, and her performance in Dubai was a fittingly grand return. The star-studded show began on Saturday night like a theatrical production. Violinists crowned with metallic gold headpieces and voluminous red skirts hit the stage first, and Beyonce’s dancers and more musicians followed in matching garb, standing still with their hands folded in front of the Egyptian-themed backdrop, reports Variety.
As guests at the invite-only, hour-long performance started screaming with excitement, Beyonce raised up on a platform wearing a yellow corseted dress, topped with a feathered skirt and a feathered backpiece.
Fireworks exploded above the venue as the iconic artist opened the show singing Etta James ‘At Last’ into a gold microphone. Then, she announced to the crowd that her mom, Tina Knowles, father, Mathew Knowles, her “beautiful husband” Jay-Z and their children, Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir Carter...

Peacock's musical-comedy series "Girls5eva" is back for season two! Starring Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Paula Pell, and Busy Philipps as members of a once-iconic '90s girl band reuniting as 40-year-olds, the show is nothing short of nostalgic. But even though the soundtrack reminds us of our favorite millennium bops and the Spice Girls, this comedy isn't necessarily based on just a single real-life band.
"Girls5eva" has a number of easter eggs and clues that point toward it being based on a famous all-girl group from the '90s. For one, the timing makes sense. As depicted in the show, Girls5eva had hits in the late '90s and are around 40 years old in the present day. Secondly, the show touches on realistic topics and issues that '90s/2000s-era woman artists like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera faced in the industry such as ageism and misogyny.

Iconoclastic auteur Peter Greenaway’s first film since 2015 is scheduled to be unveiled later this year, and when it hits screens, the opening credits will feature a company that may not yet be familiar to festival-goers. But if all goes according to their plan, it will be very soon.
Apx Capital Group’s film fund was launched in October of 2021, with headquarters in New York. Though the company was minted less than a year ago, Apx has already been plenty busy setting up deals and partnerships, with the release of Greenaway’s “Walking to Paris” set to be the first of many. Although Beyoncé mentors Chloe x Halle, it turns out that Mathew Knowles is not exactly the biggest fan of the young R&b duo. Mathew, Beyoncé's father, gave a truly shocking interview to radio personality Leah A. Henry for Leah's Lemonade this week, claiming it's "insulting" to think the singers possess similar talent to his superstar daughter. It all went down toward the end of their chat, when Leah told him that a lot of fans online constantly compare Chloe Bailey to a younger Bey. "Do you see the comparison? We have a new fun fact for your next celebrity trivia game night, brought to us by Tina Lawson. In the Sept. 15 inaugural episode of the podcast In My Head With Heather Thomson, the 66-year-old fashion designer opened up about the origin of Beyoncé's name, sharing that the 39-year-old's moniker is actually Tina's maiden name. "A lot of people don't know that Beyoncé is my last name," she said. "It's my maiden name. My name was Celestine Beyoncé, which at that time was not a cool thing to have that weird name. I wanted my name to be Linda Smith because those were the cool names."
She went on to say that while some of her family members have the last name "Beyoncé," other relatives have the surname "Beyincé" due to a clerical error. "It's interesting - and it shows you the times - because we asked my mother when I was grown.

This is a case for the FBI. On Thursday, Queen Bey's father, Mathew Knowles, shared a throwback video of Beyoncé in 1992 doing an interview on a news show in Houston, Texas. (This was the era of her life when she and Kelly Rowland were in a girl group called Girls Tyme.) Almost instantly, the trusty internet noticed that the woman interviewing the young star looked a lot like the Kardashian family matriarch, Kris Jenner. The woman's name is not revealed in the video. As Knowles wrote in the caption, "This week's #throwbackthursday also comes from back in '92. Beyonce was about 11 years old and already working hard. Here she is talking about getting over stage fright....

Without overstating the case, it’s hard to imagine that R. Kelly would not be in jail today if not for “Surviving R. Kelly.” While many of the details and accusers featured in the Lifetime docuseries were new, the primary facts have been known for many years — and yet the series, more than any of the news reports over the decade since he was acquitted on child-pornography charges in 2008, put all of the facts into a single powerful context. And the fact that there was a gun threat at the docuseries’ first screening in New York only amplified the air of criminality around it.
Almost exactly one year later, “Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning” takes a look at the events of the past year that led to multiple new charges and accusations against the singer, the demise of his empire and his current indefinite incarceration as he awaits trial in three states.
