Earlier this week, U.S. Marine/actor/celebrity fitness trainer Aaron Williamson posted a few Instagram pics of one his clients working out, Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons (61), who will soon be shooting scenes in Zack Snyder's Justice League. Since his 300 days, Snyder has been infamous for teaming with trainer Gym Jones to produce a cast that arrives on set, looking like a collection of sculpted Greek statues. However, it seems Simmons' work with Williamson will be leaving Jones with very little to do. An earlier post from Williamson demonstrates the progress Simmons made in just a month. The Whiplash actor definitely doesn't have the striations he's showing off, 6 months later in the most recent post. Saturday morning, 61 years old & making the young generation jealous. This is what dedication looks like. #JKSimmons A photo posted by Aaron Williamson (@aaronvwilliamson) on Apr 23, 2016 at 3:06pm Pdt If Hollywood ever wants to take...

The casting of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman was met with a good amount of jeers from geeks. I'm personally optimistic and trusting that the same people who cast Henry Cavill as Superman know what they are doing. Lots of early detractors of Ben Affleck as Batman have started to change their tune as more things from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice emerge.
Outside of the Fast and Furious franchise, Gadot is not very well known. With Dawn of Justice, the upcoming Justice League films, and a solo Wonder Woman movie, she's going to be a very well known name. Gadot is going to be Wonder Woman for the next six years or more, so the haters are going to have to hate for a long time.
Artist Garnabiel Kraken has created a really great pencil sketch of Gadot as Wonder Woman. There is meticulously detailed shading in the...

Many may be hearing about actor Jack O'Connell for the first time this year, but he's been plugging away for a decade nevertheless. And it's all been building to this moment. A star is being born. O'Connell received awards recognition for his ferocious turn in "Starred Up" (now in theaters), the most immersive deep dive into a prison psyche this side of Tom Hardy in "Bronson." He dabbled in the Hollywood world with "300: Rise of an Empire" earlier this year, while Belfast thriller "'71" debuted at the Berlinale in February before hitting the circuit once more at Telluride and Toronto. And of course, a little movie from Angelina Jolie called "Unbroken" will be the big introduction for anyone still unaware by the time Christmas rolls around. It's rare that you get to sit down and dig in on these heady particulars with an actor at the beginning of his...

Zack Snyder used Gym Jones founder Mark Twight to train Henry Cavill into his Superman body. I’m sure there will be some special features on how Affleck’s training differs from Cavill’s.
Batman Vs. Superman will open in theaters May 6, 2016.

Even the people grumbling about Man Of Steel and its script and Henry Cavill's performance admitted that if there was one thing the movie nailed, it was the god-like presence of an all-powerful being, brought to vivid life through the efforts of Henry Cavill and Mark Twight in the gym. Why fix something that ain't broken, so Batman Vs Superman will further this great partnership to sculpt Cavill into Superman for the second time and he has been hard at work with Twight since August. Twight had accompanied Cavill to UK and Italy for the shoot of Guy Ritchie's The Man From U.N.C.L.E. They are now relocating back to the Salt Lake City facility of Gym Jones in the final stretch to devote their undivided attention to the movie. Cavill stopped by yesterday in Slc at a sports store with his girlfriend actress Gian Carano, to buy some shorts and workout gear.

Actors these days all seem to have impeccable pecs and abs of steel, and an increasing number of them may not be coming by their ripped physiques the all-natural way. According to a new story in The Hollywood Reporter, performance-enhancing drug (Ped) use is all the rage in Tinseltown -- including when it comes to prepping for a bulked-up role in a studio tentpole.
Estimating that about 20 percent of actors turn to PEDs, trainer-to-the-stars Happy Hill tells THR that human growth hormone (Hgh) is particularly popular. "Hgh is on the scene now more than ever before," says Hill, who has worked with the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Phillippe and doesn't believe in resorting to Ped use. "It's hard not to use. Some people ... are looking for that perfect gym body, and they want a shortcut."
Hill adds that older actors are more prone to taking such a shortcut,...

During our visit to the set of Man of Steel last year, Henry Cavill told us a little about how hard he's worked to become Superman. If you've seen those shirtless shots in the trailer, you already know the dude is jacked for the role. So how, exactly, did he prepare for it? "Physical training for the role has been extraordinary intense," Cavill told us. "Mark Twight, the chap from Gym Jones, has been putting me through the ringer big time." Here's what Cavill had to do to get in the proper shape. -- Two hours a day on a mix of calories depending on what sort of work we’re doing. -- We started off at about 3,000 a day plus shake. That’s about 3,500. -- Two hours of work and then we moved up to 4,000 and then up to 5,000...

Cavill has told Showbiz Spy that he is just getting started: “At this early stage I’m just doing some foundation training,” “I’ve done about a month so far and it’s really hard stuff, to get my body used to the real stuff, which is coming up soon. So at the moment it’s just getting my body in the right aesthetic shape.” Henry Cavill also explains to Movieline on how his training is progressing, how his Superman physique will be different from his shape in Immortals and expresses his excitement about trying on the costume: “After a month of training with Mark Twight’s program for Gym Jones - he did 300 and Sucker Punch as well - this foundation phase has sort of got me back towards my fitness,” Cavill explained. “Not quite in Immortals shape like I was, but I’ve got the base there again.
