Bill and Ted’s Most Triumphant Return #2
Written by Brian Lynch and Ryan North
Art by Jerry Gaylord and Ian McGinty
Publisher Boom! Studios
Are you ready to have the most righteous adventure? In Bill’s and Ted’s Most Triumphant Return # 2, Bill and Ted work with Chuck, their would-be murderer, to improve Chuck’s life by getting him friends and a girlfriend. The comic delivers a fair time with spot on characters depiction, tender and deep character moments, and humorous artwork. However, the comic does not come without its flaws in iplot and characters. If you are willing to endure these imperfections, then Bill and Ted will provide you with a fair and funny time.
Lynch show the main characters of Bill, Ted, and Chuck with care and attention to detail. Bill and Ted continue to rock their rad attitudes from the film and keep a genuine desire to be friendly and cool.

Santa Monica — It's been really easy for the media to talk about "Birdman" and Michael Keaton's award-winning performance in terms of being a "comeback," and of course, the meta angle of playing an actor who formerly starred as a superhero is just begging for attention. On one hand it's a fortunate hook to help sell the movie, but on the other, it's been a pretty simplistic reduction, not necessarily one that Keaton has had a big problem with, but one that could certainly be discussed with a little more nuance. You might have to go back to the late '90s for examples of the actor's work that really landed culturally, but in the time since, while he's certainly taken a few breathers, he's worked very consistently. He's done TV spots on popular shows. He's starred in acclaimed TV movies like "Live from Baghdad" and the TNT miniseries "The Company.

"How can someone hate the Wyld Stallyns as much as the evil Chuck De Nomolos? With the power of time travel, Bill and Ted set their sights on turning a young 27th century Nomolos's non-non-heinous attitude into something most outstanding and metal."
Lynch and Gaylord will be working on the main story with backups by North and McGinty.

Early this morning, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake rocked Los Angeles, California and approximately two seconds later the joke began on social media. Deadline reports that Warner Bros. is making a live-action movie based on the iconic "Archie" comics. Jason Moore ("Pitch Perfect") will direct, with Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa ("Glee") penning the screenplay. Sources tell the site that the movie will be a "high school comedy based on the original line of Archie Comics set in present day Riverdale."
There's also been some speculation that the "Archie" movie would incorporate zombies -- yes, zombies -- mostly because they appear in Aguirre-Sacasa's "Afterlife With Archie" comic.
The new title "combines two of my great passions, Archie comics and horror comics," he said.
But before we start counting our zombies, comic writer Brian Lynch pointed out on Twitter that neither the studio nor "Archie" publisher John L. Goldwater indicated that the movie would be based on "Afterlife."
Deadline.com thinks the Archie movie will have zombies because the screenwriter also wrote an Archie comic with zombies.

Deadline reports that the 1985 sci-fi comedy Weird Science will get a remake.
The first film followed two nerds (Anthony Michael Hall and Ilan Mitchell-Smith) who create a beautiful lady (Kelly LeBrock), only to realize that she is more than a object.
The script will be written by Michael Bacall (Project X, 21 Jump Street).
The new film is aiming for an edgier vibe, though it is uncertain if the movie will be R-rated.
Twitter user Bryan Lynch had an interesting idea for the remake that the studio should steal.
The Weird Science remake should be two nerdy girls making Channing Tatum.

What would you little maniacs like to do first? Well, here's hoping the answer is remake "Weird Science." Deadline.com reports that Universal is planning a new take on John Hughes' 1985 teen-boy fantasy, with "21 Jump Street" and "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" screenwriter Michael Bacall handling the script. Per Deadline.com, the new film will be rated-r; Hughes' take was PG-13.
Details on the proposed remake are non-existent at this point, but writer Brian Lynch floated one brilliant idea:
The original film, of course, focused on two horny teens (Anthony Michael Hall and Ilan Mitchell-Smith) who used their nerdy science brains to create a perfect woman, complete with "womdigous mammary glands." Kelly LeBrock played the result of the boys' science project.

Those sweet, chattering Minions certainly are turning into small, yellow cash cows for Universal and creators Illumination Entertainment. Despicable Me has spawned not just a sequel (due to hit on June 28 this year), but also a Minions spin-off, which has just locked in Sandra Bullock for the lead voice. We also have some proper plot information about the film, which will reveal more of the backstory for the yellow perils. We now learn that they’ve been around for eons, faithfully serving history’s most ambitious villains, but somehow managing to also thwart and, ultimately kill them through no real fault of their own.The plot picks up in 1960 (long before they meet Despicable's Gru) where the little guys are in a collective funk after wiping out all their previous masters. So they head to a villain convention, looking to find someone to lead them. Audrey Hepburn-styled baddie Scarlet...

When there was no follow-up to a June report, I went and figured Gus Van Sant wouldn’t, in fact, be able to premiere his newest film, Promised Land, until 2013. If you ever needed an additional example with which to discredit yours truly…
Jeff Sneider has tweeted that Promised Land will hit New York and Los Angeles on December 28th for an Oscar-qualifying run, with other markets getting it around 2013′s start. (A similar strategy employed for The New World and Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. Let’s hope this is much more Malick and a lot less Daldry.) The fact that we’ve heard so little on the picture notwithstanding, take this as a big sign of confidence from Focus.
Breaking it down, one can easily see – depending on how the thing actually turns out — that Matt Damon and John Krasinski might be up for acting and / or screenwriting recognitions...

Can’t get enough of those wacky cute little critters of the “Despicable Me” franchise? You’re in luck, because Illumination Entertainment and Universal are hatching a feature film focused entirely on Gru’s legion of goofball helpers. The untitled spin-off movie will be an “original story that will introduce new characters and reprise others but the focus is on the antics of the yellow fellows as they interact with human characters”. Yes, I have absolutely no idea how this will work, either. The minions worked within the “Despicable Me” movies (the sequel is on its way) because they weren’t onscreen the entire time. They showed up, got a laugh, then left. But a whole movie dedicated to them? Huh. Mind you, I think the film will still make plenty of money. Kids love them, and since when have kids cared if a joke went on for way too long?...

Illumination Entertainment are set to do a presently untitled feature film spinoff of their hit "Despicable Me" franchise says Deadline.
Said film will be an original story that focuses on The Minions, the pill-shaped yellow-colored henchmen for Groo. The story will deal with their interactions with human characters and will both introduce new characters along with incorporating old ones from 'Despicable' and its upcoming sequel due next year.
Brian Lynch penned the script while Pierre Coffin (who helmed 'Despicable') and Kyle Balda ("Dr. Seuss The Lorax") will co-direct. Chris Meledandri, Chris Renaud, Coffin and Balda have reportedly come up with a story that gets around one problem - the strange language the characters talk in.
Production is being co-ordinated so that the Minions film will hit in 2014, one year after "Despicable Me 2" hits cinemas next July.

Those adorable little mischief makers introduced as Minions in Despicable Me just can’t be stopped these days. The horde of silly looking yellow minions from Illumination Entertainment's Despicable Me are getting their own spin-off movie. I could really care less about seeing a movie that focuses on these character, but I can see it being very successful. One thing that's very interesting about this is we have no idea what the minions are saying!

If there were any breakout stars in the Illumination Entertainment animated feature Despicable Me, it had to be the Minions. Gru's babbling bunch of yellow helpers not only proved vital to the day-to-day life of his evil underground lair, but they also proved to offer some of the more amusing moments in the film, which had Steve Carell, Jason Segel and Miranda Cosgrove among the voice-stars. How would the Minions do with their own movie? It looks like we're going to find out. Deadline reports that Universal has plans to release a Minion-focused film in 2014. I grew up on The Muppets, be it reruns of The Muppet Show, their first three feature films – The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, and The Muppets Take Manhattan – or any number of television projects, like A Muppet Family Christmas, or even Muppet Babies, which still seemed to keep much of the magic that made the group so darned lovable. After the death of creator Jim Henson, there were ups (A Muppet Christmas Carol) and downs (Muppets from Space, The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz ). So it’s not hard to understand why many of us fans were more than a little skeptical about a new feature film. That being said, I was glad to find that The Muppets not only met, but also exceeded any expectations I had.

Coronation Street legend Betty Driver left behind almost £1 million in her will, a report has claimed. Probate records show that the Weatherfield veteran's total estate was worth £987,900 and stood at £938,198 after liabilities were paid, according to The Sun. Driver, who had no children, is believed to have left her Cheshire home, car and most of her personal possessions to close friends Charles Orr and Brian Lynch. Her cousin Rosemary Hirst and a handful of other friends also reportedly benefited from the will. Driver passed away at the age of 91 in October last year following a period of ill health. Beyoncé and the new "Hunger Games" sneak peek attracted more responses than any other moments among comics tweeters last night at the MTV Video Music Awards. Writers and artists alike immediately put their imaginations to use predicting what motherhood will be like for the pop star.
In the meantime, Ben Templesmith seems to have discovered that the announcer from "The Hunger Games," Claudius Templesmith, shares a name with him. His response and reactions to Lady Gaga's performance and the return of "Doctor Who" ranked atop our favorite tweets of the last 24 hours.

The crowd-drawing power of "The Smurfs" proved powerful enough to tie "Cowboys and Aliens" over the weekend. The little blue guys also beat out "Captain America: The First Avenger" in terms of box office receipts, which seemed to impress writer Javier Grillo-Marxuach.
Marvel's patriotic hero continued to get a lot of attention in weekend tweeting, though, as did Harry Potter. Both of those guys, "True Blood" and a pitch for an all-new Showtime series made this morning's highlight reel.

The wildest week on the comic book industry calendar is officially underway in San Diego right now. Opening night tweets percolated out of Comic-Con International last night, featuring fear, costumes and even some humility (for charity) from Brian Michael Bendis.
Apple's new operating system upgrade was also a popular source of stress and delight yesterday. Creators collectively assessed which scanners and apps on their desktops managed to be compatible with Os X Lion, and Mitch Breitweiser predicted the future of Apple computing. His thoughts, Dan Slott on "Captain America: The First Avenger" and Matt Fraction's space shuttle contemplation ranked atop our list of favorite tweets list after the jump.

Michael Bay and his Transformers movies can be contentious subjects among longtime Tf fans. "Dark of the Moon" reviews are starting to come in, though, and it sounds like the Bay is strong in this film. Robert Kirkman, however, seems to be more interested in the trailers accompanying the movie to theaters.
Other films in the tweet mix include Pixar's "Brave," which Brian Lynch made a shocking prediction about, as well as a hypothetical Jonah Hex film, which Jimmy Palmiotti has been contemplating. Find out why and where Stan Lee met a couple of droids down below.

It's been a dangerous week for singer Joss Stone and "Game of Thrones" star Sean Bean. Stone was the target of an alleged murder conspiracy, while Bean reportedly survived a street attack in London. National Donut Day got some tweeters excited about hunting down free fried dough today. Edgar Wright snapped a pick of one of the country's most famous shops in Portland, while Vito Del Sante sounded mighty pessimistic about his prospects for finding any freebees in his neighborhood.

The Twitterspere has been wrestling with some big changes this week. If DC Comics' big reboot wasn't enough to tweet about, Shaq hopped onto trending lists last night by announcing his retirement from the NBA.
Michael Cho is going to miss Shaq's quotes, and just about everyone who's ever touched a comic continues to have an opinion on where DC should take it's revamped universe in August. Pre-Saturday Rapture tweets continue to be the hot thing in online discussions this week. Ben Templesmith has been weighing the pros and cons of what could happen if the world ends over the weekend. It's been a landmark week for artwork in the Twitter Report feed this week. Posts continued today with Pete Woods serving up a "Doctor Who" doodle and Jill Thompson sharing her take on Starfire.
TV tweets were in full effect, too, with the "V" finale drawing mixed criticism from Rob Liefeld and Mark Sable. Elsewhere, the Trump Roast earned a cheers and jeers for its roasters. Brian Lynch even thinks the Red Cross may want to get involved. Find out more about that and what they call Cloak and Dagger in France down below.

@thatpetewoods A quick warm up doodle. In all my years of watching the show I don't think I've ever drawn this guy-- http://yfrog.com/gyxthpyj
-Pete Woods, Artist ("Action Comics," "Amazons Attack!")
@thejillthompson I think I should get a purple bathing suit. It suits a redhead!

It's pretty much impossible to lead with any type of humor or sarcasm on a day like today, but everyone impacted by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, as well as the subsequent warnings in Hawaii and on the Pacific Coast in the U.S., are in our thoughts. Brian Michael Bendis has been assuring people he's safe in Hawaii, while Oregon and California residents have been keeping an eye out for what's to come.
In other posting, the week's big stories regarding "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" and Charlie Sheen continued last night. Marc Bernardin tweeted his thoughts about catching the show before Julie Taymor's departure, while law enforcement officials paid a visit to Sheen's home. Find out what that has to do with "Blade" down below.

Artwork seemed to be the topic of the day this morning. Chris Weston and Jimmy Palmiotti both called for Italian artist Milo Manara to get a shot at doing a Wonder Woman book, while Kate Beaton showed off some "Jersey Shore" doodling.
Meanwhile, Charlie Sheen hasn't left the public consciousness just yet. That's not to say that there aren't voices calling for him to go radio silent, though. Check out who's still enjoying him, who's not, and who wants Canada to be held accountable for Justin Bieber down below.

@mrmarkmillar Just when you think @charliesheen couldn't be more awesome, he actually gets Ten Times as awesome #machetevictoryhowl
-Mark Millar, Writer ("Wanted," "Kick-Ass")
@Southworth Breaking News: Local man goes to work every day, enjoys everything in moderation, and shuts the hell up. #winning
-Paul Southworth, Writer/Artist ("Ugly Hill")
Wonder Woman pt.

Few tweeters mourned the loss of the current season of "Two and a Half Men" in the feed this morning. Charlie Sheen, however, did receive some sympathy regarding his public feud with the show's creator.
Check out where Rob Liefeld and Jeff Katz stand after the jump. They're there along with some reactions to "Daily Show" commercials and "Jersey Shore, as well as a link to a fine comic strip that's worth your time. Apologies in advance to any "Peanuts" fans reading this if it offends your delicate sensibilities.

Charlie Sheen pt. 1: @GerryDuggan Well, all good things come to an end. And Two & A Half Men.
-Gerry Duggan, Writer ("The Infinite Horizon")
Charlie Sheen pt. 2: @robertliefeld I am completely guilty of loving every minute of Charlie Sheen's rage against the machine. He is tearing it up!
