After being blown away by the Prime Video adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel Daisy Jones & The Six, I decided to circle back and read the author’s debut novel, the “tragic love story” drama Forever, Interrupted… and as the story went on, I became more and more surprised that it hadn’t yet received an adaptation of some sort. It seemed ready to be brought to the screen as a heartbreaking and heartwarming movie or TV show, with solid roles for two lead actresses. Well, now it’s getting its adaptation. Glamour reports (via Deadline) that Margaret Qualley (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) and Laura Dern (Jurassic Park) are set to star in a limited series adaptation of Forever, Interrupted that’s coming our way from A24 and the Netflix streaming service.

Exclusive: In a competitive situation, Netflix has landed for development Forever, Interrupted, a limited series based on the 2013 bestselling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, sources tell Deadline. Laura Dern and Margaret Qualley are set to star in and executive produce the project, from A24 and company-based producer Jessica Rhoades. Julia Bicknell is writing the adaptation and will serve as showrunner. Netflix declined comment.
In Forever, Interrupted, Elsie (Qualley) and Ben’s whirlwind romance is electric – within months they’re married and living happily ever after – when Ben’s unexpected death forces Elsie to come face to face with Susan (Dern), the mother-in-law who doesn’t know that she exists. Told through a dual timeline, the series recounts Elsie and Ben’s once-in-a-lifetime love, intercut with Elsie and Susan’s unexpected journey as their at first turbulent connection ultimately brings both women cathartic new beginnings.

Jessica Chastain has responded to a viral TikTok video in which she declined to sign a fan’s copy of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.”
A fan-backed campaign has pushed to get Chastain to star as Celia St. James in an adaptation of the novel — penned by the same author whose “Daisy Jones & the Six” was adapted into the Prime Video series starring Riley Keough. Outside of her Broadway run of “A Doll’s House,” a fan approached her with the book asking for her signature, but she refused, saying, “I can’t sign that — just because I’m not doing it.”

Daisy Jones & The Six tells the story of a rock ‘n’ roll band that makes it big in the 1970s, and inevitably things get messy.

Based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel, the Prime Video series stars Riley Keough as the eponymous star who joins a new band, featuring the likes of Sam Claflin’s Billy Dunne, who are on top of the world in 1977 but after a sold-out show at Chicago’s Soldier Field, they called it quits.
Now, decades later, the band members finally agree to reveal the truth.
At Deadline’s Contenders Television panel featuring Keough, Claflin and Camila Morrone, showrunner Scott Neustadter teased that he’s made a whole pitch full of ideas for more stories, despite the series being based on a book.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers for all episodes of “Daisy Jones & the Six,” now streaming on Prime Video.
Taylor Jenkins Reid knows how to let go. The best-selling “Daisy Jones & the Six” author didn’t worry too much about Prime Video’s adaptation of her 2019 novel following the book precisely. “I don’t think I’ve ever wanted someone to go film my book exactly as it is,” she tells Variety during a conversation with executive producer Brad Mendelsohn.
“Here’s a new version of this story. Here are new versions of this song. Here’s a new way to enjoy this. Hopefully, my readers will feel like they’re finding the things that they loved about it, but also that it is something different. Warning: This post contains details from Prime Video’s “Daisy Jones & The Six” Episode 8.
While the latest episode of “Daisy Jones & The Six” marked a turning point onscreen for Daisy (Riley Keough) and Billy (Sam Claflin), behind-the-scenes it was “emotionally challenging” to shoot, Keough reveals as the cast and crew dive into its significance.
At the end of episode 8, Billy Dunne finds Daisy passed out on the floor of a hotel shower from a drug overdose, then, moments later, she wakes up in his arms, the screen cuts to black and the credits begin to roll.
The scene “puts the two of them on a different trajectory going forward,” executive producer Brad Mendelsohn told Deadline, given that, up until the emotional scene, Daisy and Billy tried to avoid the bound-to-happen clash they set out for one another.

Though she doesn’t play an instrument in the band, Camilla Alvarez now Dunne (Camila Morrone) crucially shapes the evolution of The Dunne Brothers to The Six in Prime Video’s new show “Daisy Jones & the Six,” adapted from the best-selling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
Morrone portrays the band’s eventual photographer, who starts dating Billy Dunne just as his band — then The Dunne Brothers — finds its feet. When the band decides to move to California, she doesn’t originally plan to go with them, but she ends up tagging along.
“She is central to this band,” said creator Scott Neustadter, who adapted the show. “She feels like they are her family, and she is the mom in a way. That’s her superpower. We leaned into that.”

Reese Witherspoon played it cool when asked by THR at the Daisy Jones & The Six premiere to reveal what kind of creative notes she offered to the team behind her company Hello Sunshine’s high-profile adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s best-selling novel.
“I had some notes,” she said with a smile at the show’s premiere on Feb. 23, before reluctantly revealing a few tidbits, specifically about the show’s faux documentary scenes that feature the performers sitting down for their first interviews 20 years after the band’s final performance. “But they were the same notes as the rest of the creative team — about wanting to make sure that the documentary scenes felt as potent as the live footage.”
That’s all Witherspoon was willing to divulge. Instead, she turned her attention to compliments. “These people know exactly what they’re doing, they really didn’t need anything from me.

Sony Pictures has won global distribution rights to the hot comedy package “My Ex-Friend’s Wedding,” a script co-written by buzzy author Taylor Jenkins Reid starring a murderers’ row of funny women.
Oscar winner Ariana DeBose, “Saturday Night Live” breakout Chloe Fineman, Amanda Seyfried and Megan Stalter are set as the core ensemble. The film follows four childhood best friends who receive a drunken voicemail from a former Bff on the eve of her wedding day — confessing that she thinks she’s making a mistake. The group sets out to stop her wedding and rekindle the friendship they once shared.
Comedy vet Kay Cannon, whose 2019 feature directorial debut “Blockers” over-performed at the box office, is directing. The script is from Ashley Rodger and Jenkins Reid. The latter could not be hotter at the moment, as the series adaptation of her novel “Daisy Jones & The Six” is about to hit Amazon Prime Video.

Riley Keough turned up in Hollywood on Thursday night to attend the world premiere of her new Prime Video TV series, Daisy Jones & the Six, marking her first red carpet appearance since the sudden death of her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, on Jan. 12. It was quite the scene, too, as the Tcl Chinese Theatre was packed with guests dressed to match the ’70s glam dress code while Keough and her co-stars were supported by a producing team that included Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon.
Keough, wearing Schiaparelli Couture and accompanied by husband Ben Smith-Petersen, toplines the series as Daisy Jones, the co-lead singer of a ’70s rock band. Based on the best-selling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, Daisy Jones & the Six details the rise and precipitous fall of that band, from early days toiling away at small gigs through a meteoric rise that culminates in a sold-out show at Chicago’s Soldier Field.

The official trailer of the upcoming musical-drama series titled ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ was unveiled recently. It serves a delectable treat of the 1970s aesthetics in terms of costumes, colour palette, styling, themes and of course the music which is the fulcrum of the series.
Although the story is presented in a documentary style, including background interviews with the band, ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ is a fictional story that captures the essence of creativity in the erratic, wild world of the 1970s and the band’s journey from its rise to the fall.
The series, which is based on the eponymous novel, features Riley Keough as Daisy Jones, Sam Claflin as Billy Dunne, Camila Morrone as Camila Dunne, Will Harrison as Graham Dunne, Suki Waterhouse as Karen Sirko, Josh Whitehouse as Eddie Roundtree, Sebastian Chacon as Warren Rojas, Nabiyah Be as Simone Jackson, and Tom Wright as Teddy Price,...

Cameron Crowe’s “Roadies” failed to strike a chord and create a TV series about 1970s rockers on the road and tales of sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll that audiences loved. But show creators Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (“The Spectacular Now”) are hoping their similar-sounding version, starring Riley Keough, will convince you otherwise with the new Prime Video series “Daisy Jones & The Six.”

Anna Faris, Alicia Silverstone and Patrick Wilson are set to join leads Susan Sarandon and Jaeden Martell in John Krokidas’ upcoming feature “Tunnels.”

In “Tunnels,” Martell (“Knives Out”) and Oscar-winner Sarandon (“Dead Man Walking”) play a duo who strike up the unlikeliest friendship in the wake of unthinkable tragedy.
Sarandon stars as Ruby, a woman whose grandson becomes a school shooter. She meets one of his victim’s siblings – Grayson (Martell) – when they are paired together at the local grocery store where they both work.
“As their friendship grows, and inspired by Grayson’s wisdom, Ruby realises that she may still have the power to make positive change and help bring the town back together again,” reads the logline.
