While he doesn’t go as far as saying he’s an alcoholic, Chris Cuomo did open up to viewers talking about when he chooses to drink, and that “it’s not always for the right reason.”
He was speaking from his couch recording an episode of his podcast The Chris Cuomo Project and was encouraging people to speak frankly about their mental health struggles. He opened up about being a “hard drinker” and also cracked that “my diet can suck.”
Cuomo said he was motivated to discuss these concerns openly because “my mental health has become an increasing aspect of my self-concern about how I can be my best.”
The former CNN anchor is currently legally feuding with his ex-network for letting him go after it was revealed he advised his brother Andrew Cuomo on his sexual assault accusations while still working at the network. He is seeking 125 million from CNN in his lawsuit.

“I like being uncomfortable,” Chris Cuomo told Variety in 2018. “I like making other people uncomfortable.” Looks like he succeeded.
CNN fired Cuomo, its most-watched anchor, over the weekend for exactly that reason. Though Cuomo had become emblematic of a new era at CNN, one filled with journalists who practiced holding newsmakers to account rather than just delivering the news, Jeff Zucker, WarnerMedia’s chairman of news and sports, and other executives no longer felt assured about their relationship with the anchor, according to people familiar with the matter.
The rupture was a long time coming. CNN stood by Cuomo through altercations captured on video; an accusation of unwelcome physical behavior; and sharp elbows thrown behind the scenes in the newsroom. But there was a harrowing stretch last week: New York State Attorney General Letitia James released documents showing Cuomo took an active hand in helping his brother, former New York Gov.

Updated, Sunday, 6:37 Am Pt: Chris Cuomo is calling his termination from CNN “unwarranted” following a report that a junior colleague at another network came forward with an allegation of sexual misconduct.
“These apparently anonymous allegations are not true,” a spokesperson said. “To the extent that they were sent to CNN to negate what Chris Cuomo told his audience, he fully stands by his on-air statements about his connection to these issues, both professionally and in a profoundly personal way. If the goal in making these false and unvetted accusations was to see Mr. Cuomo punished by CNN, that may explain his unwarranted termination.”

CNN fired Chris Cuomo, its most-watched anchor, on Saturday in the wake of revelations he had helped his brother, Andrew Cuomo, while the former New York governor faced multiple accusations of sexual harassment, doing so in ways of which CNN management had not previously been aware and breaching the traditional ethics of journalism.
The WarnerMedia-backed news outlet, which suspended Chris Cuomo earlier this week, said it would continue its investigation into the work he did for his sibling. The company also said it had retained an outside law firm to conduct its review, citing “additional information that has come to light.” CNN intends to continue to investigate its former employee’s behavior despite its decision.
And other allegations against Chris Cuomo have surfaced. Debra S. Katz, an employment attorney representing a former colleague of Chris Cuomo’s from another network, informed CNN on Wednesday of an allegation of “serious sexual misconduct against” him,...

Update, 7:24 Pm Pt: Chris Cuomo hosted his CNN show Cuomo Primetime without addressing the New York Times essay by former producer Shelley Ross, who described a 2005 incident in which she said he touched her inappropriately. At the time, Cuomo and Ross had been working at ABC News.
Cuomo instead devoted the hour to reports on the Arizona election audit, the Gabrielle Petito case and The View. The show also did a segment on the missing person case of Daniel Robinson, an African American man who went missing in Arizona. The focus on the Petito case has generated some media criticism for the lack of attention paid to missing person cases involving people of color.

Chris Cuomo's former boss at ABC News, Shelley Ross, has accused him of sexually harassing her in 2005. The former executive producer at the network brought forth the allegations against the CNN anchor in a piece published in The New York Times on Friday, Sept. 24. In the article, Ross said the alleged incident took place at a going-away party for a colleague in New York. She was serving as an executive producer for an ABC entertainment special at the time after working as Cuomo's executive producer at Primetime Live. "I was at the party with my husband, who sat behind me on an ottoman sipping his Diet Coke as I spoke with work friends," she wrote. "When Mr....

CNN news anchor Chris Cuomo has been accused of sexual harassment in a New York Times article published on Friday. Former TV news producer and journalist Shelley Ross alleges that Cuomo inappropriately touched her at a colleague’s going-away party in June 2005 when the pair worked for ABC News. “He walked toward me and greeted me with a strong bear hug while lowering one hand to firmly grab and squeeze the cheek of my buttock,” Ross wrote in the article. Ross goes on to write that Cuomo allegedly said to her, “I can do this now that you’re no longer my boss.” She then pushed him away and left the party with her husband, who she claims witnessed the incident. Ross added that Cuomo later apologized for his behavior in an email, a picture of which is included in The Times article. In the email, Cuomo describes the way...

NEW YORK -- Shelley Ross was dropped Thursday as senior executive producer at CBS' The Early Show after only six months on the job.
The controversial ABC News veteran, who turned around ABC's Good Morning America, didn't have the time to do the same at the perennially third-place Early Show. Rumors of staff strife and the resignations of up to 21 Early Show employees plagued Ross during her tenure. Tales of Ross' time at The Early Show had at least twice made the New York Post's Page Six, most recently on Thursday. Her last day in the office was Monday although she didn't work on The Early Show.
Taking over temporarily will be Rick Kaplan, who is the executive producer of "CBS Evening News With Katie Couric." He'll remain in that job, too, though he'll devote the majority of his time immediately to The Early Show, beginning with the 3:15 a.m. wake-up call this morning.
"Rick has built an exceptionally strong senior team there, and the broadcast will be in very capable hands until he returns full-time to the 'Evening News, ' " CBS News/Sports president Sean McManus said in a statement Thursday.
NEW YORK -- CBS News made it official Monday and named Good Morning America veteran Shelley Ross senior executive producer of third-place breakfastcast The Early Show. She takes over Sept. 17.
Ross will take the place of vp morning broadcasts Steve Friedman and senior executive producer Michael Bass, who delivered to CBS gains in viewership and the key adult and women demographics over the past year. CBS is talking to Friedman and Bass about new roles, the network said.
Ross, who guided "GMA" to a competitive position against Today, is inheriting a broadcast that even with the year-to-year ratings gains is still far behind Today or her old show. The Early Show, and the myriad of predecessors dating back to the early 1960s, have never been able to compete against Today or GMA.
CBS hopes to change that with Ross, who took over "GMA" in one of its low periods in the late 1990s and brought it out of its decline to come close to Today in the ratings.

NEW YORK -- TV news veteran Shelley Ross is likely to take the reins of CBS' perennially lagging The Early Show.
Ross, who saved Good Morning America and left ABC last year, has been mentioned for weeks as CBS' pick to take over Early. While it has shown some improvement over the past year, the morning newscast is far behind NBC's Today and GMA.
It wasn't clear Thursday what would happen to Steve Friedman, vp morning broadcasts, or senior executive producer Michael Bass, both Today veterans who now work on Early.
No official announcement is likely before the Labor Day weekend.
Ross returns to morning television after helping to put "GMA" back into contention in the late 1990s. While sometimes a lightning rod for controversy, she also has a proven track record. She was replaced at "GMA" in 2004 and given responsibility for the ABC newsmagazine Primetime but eventually left the news division. Her last work for ABC was the entertainment special David Blaine: Drowned Alive.
Ross had been in talks with several companies, with CBS becoming the most serious, though sources differed on whether a deal had been completed.

NEW YORK -- Shelley Ross is out as exec producer of ABC News' Primetime Live. ABC News president David Westin said Monday that Ross will leave the show and take a job "producing new programs for ABC News and across all divisions of the network." Her departure from Primetime Live is effective immediately, the network said. Ross helped revive Good Morning America and then moved to Primetime last year to boost ratings. She immediately made changes, including returning the show to a live format, changing the story mix and even introducing a musical revue of the week's news in an effort to bring in new viewers.
