Hakan Turhan(II)
Hakan Turhan completed his primary and middle school education in Adapazari. Despite initially pursuing a degree in Banking and Finance, Turhan left his studies unfinished to follow his passion for journalism, a field he had been involved in since his high school years.
Turhan's foray into the press began at the age of 15, making programs for local radios.
His professional journey officially started in 1996, working part-time at the Adapazari Newspaper while still in school.
By 1999, his love for journalism had overtaken his interest in formal education, leading him to resume his role at the Adapazari Newspaper as a reporter.
Until 2000, Turhan contributed to the Adapazari Newspaper, after which he joined Yenigun Newspaper, one of the then-newly established papers, in July 2000.
There, he covered the police and judiciary beat. In 2001, Turhan moved to Yeni Sakarya Newspaper as the News Director.
While holding his position, Turhan also managed the Sakarya representation of the national Aksam Newspaper.
His career took a brief hiatus in 2003 due to 1.5 years of mandatory military service.
Returning in April 2004, he rejoined the profession as the Sakarya Representative for Dogan News Agency. In January 2007, Turhan played a founding role as the Chief Editor at Sakarya Halk Newspaper.
Turhan lived in Switzerland from 2007 until 2018, continuing his life in Europe. Upon returning to Turkey in February 2018, he has since been serving as the News Director of Sakarya's sole satellite television, TV264, as well as the News Coordinator for Medyabar and a columnist.
Hakan Turhan is a married journalist/writer and a father of two children.
