George Clooney was handcuffed and arrested today outside the Sudanese embassy in Washington, D.C., for protesting the country’s blockage of food and aid from entering the Nuba Mountains region, MSNBC is reporting. George Clooney was released from police custody Friday afternoon after paying a $100 fine. Earlier in the day, Clooney, his father and current and former members of congress were arrested outside the Sudanese embassy in Washington D.C.
Authorities cautioned the group three times not to cross a police line, but Clooney and the group did not heed the warnings. Also arrested were Rep. James McGovern (D-Mass.), Rep. John Olver (D-Mass.), Rep. Al Green (D-Tx.) and Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.), former Rep. Tom Andrews (D-Maine), NAACP president Ben Jealous, Martin Luther King III and actor Dick Gregory.
Though they caused hysteria on Twitter and other social networks, the arrests were not widely anticipated. Before his arrest, Clooney told The Huffington Post that he hoped shedding light on the abuses of the Sudanese government would pressure the country's president into allowing humanitarian aid into beleaguered regions of the nation.

George Clooney and at least one congressman were arrested Friday outside of the Sudanese embassy in Washington D.C. The arrests were anticipated and part of the actor's effort to draw attention to the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
The actor, his father and politicians were protesting the country's blockade of supplies and humanitarian aide. Clooney was reportedly handcuffed and placed in the back of a police cab.
"They were protesting the violence committed by the government of Sudan on its own innocent men, women and children," Clooney's publicist said in a statement published by TMZ. "They were demanding they allow humanitarian aid into the country before it becomes the largest humanitarian crisis in the world."
Update: NBC has confirmed more arrests. Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.), Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.), former Rep. Tom Andrews (D-Maine), Nick Clooney (the actor's father), NAACP President Ben Jealous and Martin Luther King III were also...

After an unreasonable two-year absence, only alleviated by last year’s Halloween special, Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton’s Psychoville finally returns for a second series of black comedy japes and spooky mystery. As a spiritual follow-up to The League Of Gentlemen‘s small-town horror, Psychoville may lack that show’s insidious edge and pervasive atmosphere, but a more ambitious format (fully serialized plotting, wider scope) has helped carve it a complimentary identity. However, it’s still less menacing and moody than The League ever was — being more of a warped carnival of oddities — perhaps signifying that Shearsmith and Pemberton are mellowing in middle-age, or that colleagues Mark Gatiss and Jeremy Dyson were the more macabre half of their comedy troupe.
I found series 1′s finale of Psychoville unsatisfying, primarily because the story deserved a conclusion, but instead creaked as it tardily introduced a supernatural curveball (a magical locket owned...

Ellen DeGeneres clearly loves dance, so she's interested in who is about to win television's top showcase for smooth moves.
The award-winning comedian and syndicated weekday talk-show host admits she hasn't been able to follow ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" as closely as she'd like, given her own schedule, but she's up on it enough to call a winner in the finals that air Monday and Tuesday (Nov. 22 and 23).
"From what I've seen, Jennifer [Grey] is really good," DeGeneres tells Zap2it. "Kyle [Massey] has impressed me, too, but I think Jennifer is really a good dancer. If I was putting money on it, I would say Jennifer [to win]." Bristol Palin is the third "Dancing" finalist, following Brandy's elimination this week.
Last week, reports surfaced that the U.S. "Dwts" would follow in the dancesteps of the Israeli version and have a same-sex couple. DeGeneres' wife, Portia de Rossi, quickly rose to...
