When we watch a TV show, we become attached to the characters we see on screen. We start caring about them like if they were real, we give them advice sitting on our couches and we root for them, too. It’s only natural if you have even a little note of compassion in you.
However, sometimes our beloved characters die on screen, and of course that makes us feel sad. And while some TV shows have no way of bringing back fallen characters, some, like soap operas or fantasy dramas, have a reputation for being able to do so.
With the news that Stranger Things season 5 already started production, fans are even more passionate about sharing their views on what the upcoming season would bring to them. There were a lot of talks about the desire to bring back, for example, Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn.

A Broadway transfer may be in store for the stage production of Stranger Things: The First Shadow.
A casting notice calling for video submissions from Equity actors has been posted for the production, with a listed Broadway start in 2025. A theater has not yet been named. Stephen Daldry, who helmed the West End production of the show, is listed as director for the possible Broadway transfer, with Justin Martin as a co-director.
Neither Netflix nor Sonia Friedman Productions, the two producers on the show, immediately responded to a request for comment on plans for Broadway. A spokesperson for the production in London said more information about the “future life of the production” will be shared at a later time. The audition notice alone does not automatically mean it’s coming to Broadway, but the play is already proving popular in the West End.

When it was announced that Linda Hamilton would be joining Stranger Things for its fifth and final season, it felt like a perfect addition to the cast, as she was a favorite presence in the 1980s, when the series is set. She, too, is a fan of the Netflix show…and that’s precisely why she won’t watch the season she’ll be featured in.
Speaking with Us Weekly, Linda Hamilton said that being cast in Stranger Things will interfere with her appreciation of the show, adding that she won’t be able to finish it like the rest of its fans. “When you really buy into something, you don’t see yourself in it. So I think in a way, it kind of ruined the show for me. I never watch [a project], once I’m in something…It would just completely take me out of the reality of it to see myself in there.

It might be awhile before we get to see Stranger Things season 5. Production on the fifth and final season of the Netflix juggernaut has been delayed, first by the Writers Guild of America’s (WGA) strike for an equitable contract from Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) and then again by the Screen Actors Guild’s strike action against AMPTP (seems as though there is one common denominator in these two work stoppages…).
Though the WGA strike has been resolved and Sga seems well on its way to be, there will still be a lot of filming to get through before Stranger Things season 5 can get a Netflix release date. For all we know, the youth of Hawkins, Indiana might be well into their 20s by the time we get to see the ’80s horror/sci-fi saga come to an end.

While much time still stands before the conclusion to the Duffer Brothers’ “Stranger Things” Netflix series, with Season 5 awaiting a deal for its actors, the prequel play — “Stranger Things: The First Shadow” — will give audiences a glimpse further into the past and the origins of the Upside Down.
Set in 1959 Hawkins, the play will focus on the arrival of Henry Creel to “a regular town with regular worries.” Teenage Jim Hopper, Bob Newby and Joyce Maldonado also star, as does a younger Dr. Martin Brenner (Patrick Vaill), who began the cruel experiments on Young Henry.
As with any new iteration of “Stranger Things,” there’s a new crucial character — this time, it’s Patty Newby (Ella Karuna Williams). There is also a Principal Newby (Matthew Pigeon), but that figure is of less importance to the plot.

This post contains spoilers for "Stranger Things" season 4.
"Stranger Things" fans know the drill by now. Whenever a quirky newcomer ingratiates them among the show's main group of characters, odds are it's only a matter of time before they're snuffed out in heartbreaking fashion. Bob Newby (Sean Astin)? The adorkable RadioShack man gets mauled to death by Demodogs while helping his girlfriend Joyce (Winona Ryder) rescue her son Will (Noah Schnapp). Dr. Alexei (Alec Utgoff)? We'd only just met the wide-eyed Cherry Slurpee-sipping Russian scientist when he was assassinated by his own people for helping the show's heroes.
As such, when season 4 ended with newbie Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) getting slaughtered by a pack of Demobats while simultaneously shredding Metallica's "Master of Puppets," well, it was sad for sure but far from a surprise. The offbeat, guitar-strumming, Dungeons & Dragons-playing high schooler spent most of the season on the...

Sean McNamara’s horror thriller “Vindicta” has been picked up by Paramount’s Republic Pictures. The film rounds up Elena Kampouris, Sean Astin and Jeremy Piven for a story about a twisted serial killer.
Astin previously starred in Season 2 of “Stranger Things” as fan-favorite Bob Newby, boyfriend of Joyce Byers. Piven is known for his role as Ari Gold in “Entourage” and starred in period drama series “Mr. Selfridge.” Kampouris is set to star in the upcoming film “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3” and previously led the 2020 remake of “Children of the Corn.”
Per “Vindicta’s” official logline, “When a city is terrorized by a sadistic serial killer, a seasoned detective and a newly recruited paramedic are forced into a deadly game of vengeance, only to discover the key to stopping the bloodshed lies in unlocking the truth of their own haunted pasts.” The film also stars Travis Nelson...

A trailer for the Stranger Things stage play promises fans will not only get to return to The Upside Down soon, but might also get some clues into what’s ahead in season five.
The minute-long trailer for Stranger Things: The First Shadow was posted to the show’s social media Wednesday, and featured a series of clips presented on a static-y analog TV. “The beginning of the Stranger Things story might hold the key to what is next…” the trailer teases. Beyond images of the popular Netflix series’ cast and scenes from seasons past, eight buttons, a clock with spiders spilling out and a red-lit stage are also featured.
The trailer marks the second look at the show — expected to open later this year on the West End at the Phoenix Theatre — following a shorter, but just as cryptic, teaser in March. The show was initially announced in July 2022, with Trefry,...

A very cool teaser trailer for the upcoming Stranger Things stage adaptation The First Shadow doesn’t give away much by way of plot details, but we do see some clips of the TV series’ early episodes only to watch the screen shatter and a mysterious red, glowing orb appear on the stage of an otherwise empty theater.
Then, slowly appearing, are the words: “The beginning of the Stranger Things Story Might Hold The Key To What Comes Next”.
That empty West End theater won’t stay that way for long: The First Shadow, revealed by Deadline last summer, will begin performances Nov. 17 at London’s Phoenix Theatre, and judging by the Phoenix’s ticket site, performances are already sold out through mid-December.

Netflix is moving forward with several projects set in the Stranger Things universe, and we have a teaser for one of them.
Stranger Things: The First Shadow was announced by Netflix back in March.
The project now has an exciting teaser that vows to take viewers back to the start, well before the events of Stranger Things Season 1.
Through four seasons, fans have watched the intricate storylines at the center of the mystery drama.
Now, it's time to fill in many of the blanks, and somehow, it's hard to imagine the play giving much in the way of answers for Stranger Things Season 5.
Filling in these blanks might help us understand some of the events that have played out on the hit sci-fi drama to date.

“Stranger Things 5″ might mark the official conclusion for the popular Netflix series, but the lore will continue to expand beyond the series. That includes the upcoming stage play “Stranger Things: The First Shadow,” which may hold clues to the final season, the official series’ Twitter account teased today.
The video unveiled on social media reiterates what we already know: the play will take place prior to the series’ events, set in 1959. What’s new is that the play promises to hold essential clues for the final season. How vital are these clues? That remains to be seen, of course.

Just when we thought the cast of Stranger Things couldn't get any better.
The hit series made an appearance Saturday at Netflix's Tudum Global Fan Event, and we got an exciting announcement:
Linda Hamilton has joined the cast of Stranger Things Season 5 -- the hit sci-fi drama's final season.
Sadly, no details about who the Terminator alum would be playing have been revealed, so we'll have to wait until some intel drops.
The hit drama series from the Duffer brothers typically keeps details under wraps until transmission.
Still, the cast of Stranger Things has always been top-notch, so hopefully, the creatives have a badass role in mind for Linda.
She has had many impressive roles throughout her career, but many remember her work in the Terminator franchise.
Aside from this impressive casting news, Stranger Things Season 5 details are scarce.
Production was supposed to get underway this summer, but the...

Stranger Things has spawned a stage play. Kate Trefry, a writer and co-executive producer on the critically acclaimed, award-winning Netflix series, wrote Stranger Things: The First Shadow, which will launch in London’s West End’s Phoenix Theatre later this year.

It’s a new part of the life cycle of any major screen phenomenon – sooner or later, you head to the stage. There is, of course, Harry Potter And The Cursed Child, a ballet for Peaky Blinders, a Game Of Thrones production (likely a few years off yet), then you’re in luck – a prequel play to the Duffer Brothers’ sci-fi-horror saga is coming to the London stage later this year.
The show is titled Stranger Things: The First Shadow, and it’s due to arrive at the Phoenix Theatre in the West End in late 2023 – penned by Kate Trefry (from a story she penned with the Duffer directing.
Set in Hawkins, Indiana in 1959, the play will feature younger versions of some fan-favourite characters from the show. Here’s the official synopsis: “Hawkins, 1959: a regular town with regular worries. Young Jim Hopper’s car won’t start, Bob Newby...

It looks like the play’s the (stranger) thing!
London’s Phoenix Theatre is planning to turn things Upside Down when it debuts “Stranger Things: The First Shadow,” a prequel theatrical experience tied to the runaway Netflix hit. The fifth and final season of the series begins production this May, and the new play will be up “later this year.”
The author is Kate Trefry, a staff writer, story editor, and co-executive producer on the series, credited as writer on three teleplays, one from the second, third, and fourth seasons. The prequel play is based on a story from Trefry and “Stranger Things” creators Matt and Ross Duffer, as well as Jack Thorne. Thorne is the writer behind Netflix’s hit “Enola Holmes,” but, more relevant to this endeavor, he is the author of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” the two-part theatrical experience/license to print money with productions in London,...

It's time for "Stranger Things" to make the leap from the screen ... to the stage? Yes, that's right — a "Stranger Things" stage play is on the way, and soon. The play, titled "Stranger Things: The First Shadow," will have its world premiere in late 2023 at the Phoenix Theatre in London's West End. Stephen Daldry directs, with co-direction by Justin Martin. Kate Trefry, a writer on the series, penned the play. "The First Shadow" is produced by Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions. The Duffer Brothers serve as creative producers, with 21 Laps as associate producers.
Tickets will go on sale this spring, with more details to come.
The play is a prequel, set in Hawkins in 1959, and will feature a younger version of David Harbour's character Hopper. And, since it's "Stranger Things," you can expect a whole bunch of creepy, weird stuff to happen, too. Is "Stranger Things" big enough to warrant a stage production?...
