Tim Preston(III)

Tim Preston was drafted by the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western
Hockey League in the 8th round, 134th overall in the 1996 Western
Hockey League Bantam Draft. He was part of the Langley (BC) connection
the Thunderbirds picked up that year; Ryan Trsek and Florida Panthers
prospect, David Morrisett (2nd round, 26th overall) all came from the
Langley Bantams. Tim made his debut in a Thunderbirds uniform in the
1997-98 season, collecting 11 goals, 5 assists, 16 points and 49
penalty minutes. He was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 3rd round,
73rd overall in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. Preston spent 4 seasons with
the Thunderbirds and played his overage season (20 year old) with the
Saskatoon (SK) Blades. In his 5 seasons in the WHL, he averaged 30
points per season. He played professional briefly for the Wheeling
Nailers of the East Coast Hockey League.
