Mai Spurlock is a Vietnamese-Appalachian writer and producer in the New York City area. Mai is a native of West Virginia and has a BS in Business from Washington & Lee University and a Masters in Ancient History from the University of St. Andrews.
Along with her sister, Kim Spurlock, Mai has made multiple award-winning short films including the Student Academy Award winning Down in Number 5, a Southern Gothic tale of a coal miner pushed to his limits for the love of his son. The Spurlock Sisters also have a web series, Livin' The Dream, which is a comedic take on the lengths a Brooklyn filmmaker will go to get her first feature film made, (not at all inspired by the adventures of Kim Spurlock). When not locked in a closet and forced to write by her sister, Mai enjoys tennis, hiking and painting.
