Kevin Hart wiped away tears on stage as he looked up from the bronze bust on a pedestal to the trio of comedy legends who had come to witness his professional highlight.
In the VIP balcony of the Kennedy Center opera house, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle sat side by side, watching Hart accept the Mark Twain Prize for lifetime achievement in comedy Sunday night.
“I didn’t start doing what I was doing to get awards,” Hart said. “I just fell in love with the idea of comedy.”
Hart rose from the open mics and comedy clubs of his native Philadelphia to become one of his country’s most recognizable performers — honing a signature style that combines his diminutive height, expressive face and motormouth delivery into an arena-packing stand-up act. He became the latest recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in a raucous ceremony...

Kevin Hart will be awarded the 25th Mark Twain Prize for American Humor by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts next March, joining a roster of previous recipients that includes Carol Burnett, Bill Murray, David Letterman, Dave Chappelle and last year’s honoree Adam Sandler.
“I’ve been doing comedy since the inception of this award 25 years ago,” Hart said in a statement. “To be honored in this commemorative year feels surreal. Comedy is my outlet for social commentary and observations on life – I am grateful to the Kennedy Center for recognizing my voice and impact on culture.”
The prize will be presented to Hart at a gala performance on March 24, 2024, in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Broadcast and casting details will be announced at a later date.

Without a doubt, Kingsman: The Secret Service was a film that easily landed in my top five favorite films of last year. It was fun, action-packed, irreverent, and had one of the best villains I'd seen in a movie in a long time. The cast was amazing, and above all else, it was a perfect vehicle for relative newcomer Taron Egerton, who absolutely nailed the role.
Admittedly, Kingsman isn't a film that really needed a sequel, but when director Matthew Vaughn signed on to continue the franchise, few felt the impulse to complain. Vaughn was responsible for the already-stellar first film, so who's to say he wouldn't continue that trend?
Now I know you're here for a poster, but before I go any further, I feel compelled to give some sort of spoiler warning, as I doubt you'll understand the poster without having seen the first film.
So Spoiler Alert for the first Kingsman film!

Extraterrestrial
Written and Directed by the Vicious Brothers
USA, 2014
One reasonable response to the credits of the horror film Extraterrestrial might be, “‘A film by The Vicious Brothers’? Are these guys for real?” Naturally, the answer is no: writer/director Colin Minihan and writer Stu Ortiz (the Canadian team behind 2011’s Grave Encounter) are not related. They just wanted a unique and memorable name under which to make movies. There’s nothing wrong with choosing a badass nom de plume (as Samuel Clemens might have said), but there’s a lot wrong with Extraterrestrial. It’s a movie stuck in limbo, neither as scary nor as funny as it ought to be.
The plot is as spare and straightforward as possible: April (Daytime Emmy award winner Brittany Allen) is going up to her father’s cabin in the woods, and taking her boyfriend and a group of compadres with her.
