Josh Benash is a composer, musician, arranger, and engineer from New
York. After graduating from SUNY Purchase College in 2004 with a degree
in studio composition, Josh Benash started the orchestral art rock band
Kiss Kiss. Within a few years of forming and touring continuously in
the North East, the band was signed to Eyeball Records/Warner ADA.
The band released an EP and two LPs, each recorded by D. James Goodwin
(Devo, Kaki King, The Bravery) at the Clubhouse Studio in Rhinebeck,
NY.
After touring for eight consecutive years around the United States and
Canada with acts like Murder By Death, The Dear Hunter, Thursday, The
Pogues, 3, Ra Ra Riot, and Paper Chase, Kiss Kiss took to hiatus in
2010.
Since then Josh has stayed active scoring music for film, composing for
modern dance, arranging orchestral additions for other bands, and
forming his new band Vuvuzela, a guitar-less quartet featuring harp,
upright bass, piano, and drums.
Josh has also spent time studying analog synthesizer repair and has
attended NYU's film scoring workshop.
