- He was a resident of Clarington, Ontario, Canada's Bowmanville Zoo from 1988 to his death.
- His owner and trainer was Michael Hackenberger.
- He and Bongo were originally performers for the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus. Both of them would ride on the back of Belgian horses.
- His uncredited appearance was in Disney's George of the Jungle (1997). It was particularly the scene of George giving comfort to a Capuchin monkey that has not been accepted by other Capuchin monkeys. It successfully defeats him by performing George's Tarzan-esque jungle call. That scene was filmed on Kualoa Ranch in Hawaii.
- He and Bongo were best known for their appearance in Paramount's The Ghost and the Darkness (1996). Caesar would be dragging workmen from their tents at night. Filmmakers partly used Sudan as his stunt double for that scene.
- Nonidentical twin brother of Bongo. He was born at Cherry Brook Zoo. It permanently closed to the public in 2020.
