Sonam Pathan is an independent filmmaker known for her critically acclaimed, award-winning short film 'Aza' starring Sugandh Pandey and Shubh Sabharwal. The film is based on the human rights issue of 'Triple-Talaq' which narrates story of a woman and her 8-year-old son, living a disjointed life as they wait for the return of the boy's absentee father. The narrative offers an empowering, useful comment for women who may have suffered a similar fate as that of the protagonist in the film.
This film has been recognized with participation, mentions and best film awards in many international and national film festivals like Pune Film Festival, Kolhapur International Film Festival, Ankur Film Festival, etc. in 2020 and is available at Shorted OTT.

She was Assistant Professor at School of Cinema, Asian Academy of Film and Television, Marwah Studios, Noida. Later she joined Moving Picture Company (MPC) where she worked on Marvel Studios Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania (2023) and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023) as a VFX Production Assistant.
