When we last saw Justin Kanew, he was racing around the world as a contestant on The Amazing Race.
At the time, he was a writer and film producer. His Race partner, Zev Glassenberg, made headlines as the show’s first contestant with Asperger’s Syndrome. They became fan favorites and were called back to compete in 2011’s Amazing Race: Unfinished Business.
But now Kanew is running a new race: he wants to be the United States Congressman from Tennessee’s 7th District.

There have been many familiar faces that have participated on the reality show including Big Brother alumni Brendon and Rachel and former NFL players Chester Pitts and Ephraim Salaam. Have you ever thought how awesome it would be if your favorite TV couples, friends, or family members participated on the race? Here is our list of what TV Show duos would be perfect for the next cycle of The Amazing Race. The Reality Show Team – Hayden and Nicole from Big Brother 16 Over the course of The Amazing Race’s run, a team featured on a reality show will usually make an appearance. Mark it down: On Sunday, March 16 at somewhere around 8:50 p.m. Et, after annoying seasons of “Big Brother” and four episodes into their second season of “The Amazing Race,” I found myself liking Brendon & Rachel. Look, I’m not proud of myself and it really didn’t last for very long -- perhaps only a minute, in fact -- but this blog is about nothing if it’s not about absolutely honesty. So if I ever try saying, “I’ve always hated Rachel & Brendon,” you can now call me a liar, because there it was, the moment that I warmed to Brendon & Rachel. And that totally justifies their presence on this “All-Stars” season of “The Amazing Race.” No? Oh well. Did it at least justify Sunday’s episode of “The Amazing Race”? No, again? Oh well. [Full recap of Sunday’s Leg after the break...] Actually, Sunday’s Leg wasn’t bad, once you accepted the inevitability of the result.

After scoring an earlier flight to Tokyo on The Amazing Race 23, Leo and Jamal overcame a Speed Bump, but were undone by an alliance... and buttons on a robot. "Those damn buttons! I did not see them at all," Leo tells TVGuide.com. "It sucked because we were feeling so good. We got the earlier flight. We did the Japanese game show Detour, killed the Speed Bump and we could taste [the final three spot]." Instead, the cousins/Afghanimals came up short, as Amy helped their Race nemeses Travis and Nicole again. Get their thoughts on that alliance, the infamous angklung Roadblock, and why they didn't mind being ganged up on.

Travis and Nicole started The Amazing Race 23 as the ones to beat, but things took a sharp turn after Nicole struggled with the angklung Roadblock in Indonesia, requiring Amy's help and ostensibly incurring her husband's harsh criticism. But the ER doctors, who placed third after Nicole took 21 tries (!) to do a flour drop, insists that their tense relationship in the back half of the season was all editing. "There's definitely a lot more to us that was not aired, and that's fine," Nicole tells TVGuide.com. "But we gave them other material and they ran with it." Find out what you didn't see on the show, why Travis says he was hard on his wife, if they thought they cheated and more.

The Amazing Race, Season 23, Episode 11: “Amazing ‘Crazy’ Race”
Aired Sundays at 8pm (Et) on CBS
Two-hour finale! Can you feel the excitement? It’s hard, considering we’ve been looking at these same four teams as front-runners basically from the beginning, and that they never really broke out of their initial molds, but nice that the fun-loving Afghanimals still get to play, and that we get to finally see everyone really go for it in terms of breaking alliances for the million. Jason and Amy depart first from Indonesia and fly to Tokyo.
Their strategy is to stay with the group, so they make sure to tell Mr. and Mrs. Dr. which flight they’re on, and they let Tim and Marie in on the info as well. All three have a semi-pathetic pow-wow on how to keep the Afghanimals out, still citing the Afghanimals’ “lies” as the reason,...

The final four couples traveled around Tokyo and Alaska in the season 23 finale of The Amazing Race, with Jason Case and Amy Diaz.
The Final Four Teams Head To Tokyo
But first, married couple, Nicole and Travis, and Jason and Amy are furious at cousins Leo and Jamal. They team up with exes Tim and Marie to leave Leo and Jamal out in the cold. It’s a temporary alliance, to say the least. When all six contestants touch down in Tokyo, Nicole and Travis are ready to leave Tim and Marie in the dust, only to realize they don’t have an address needed to go to the next clue. In the end, none of the teams gets ahead, and they all follow each other to the next leg of the race.

"The Amazing Race" Season 23 came to a close Sunday (Dec. 8). Read on to find out which team took home the million dollars.
Leg 11
The two-hour finale did something new for the show this year -- it started out with four teams left racing. The teams traveled from Indonesia to Japan, where cousins Leo and Jamal came in last at the pit stop and were eliminated in fourth place.
Leg 12
The last leg of the race took the final three teams from Japan to Alaska, where Nicole struggled with the roadblock where she had to hit a target from a prop plane. It put the married ER doctors Nicole and Travis in last place going into the final stretch of the race.
Unfortunately, Nicole also struggled with the ice-climbing challenge but the patented "Amazing Race" finale end puzzle was the great equalizer. Jason/Amy and Tim/Marie definitely had a lead,...

It is finally time to find out which globe-trotting team will be the winner of The Amazing Race. Last time, Jason and Amy were the first team to reach the Pit Stop, followed by Timothy and Marie (Reebs). Nicole and Travis grabbed third place.
Leo and Jamal (the Afghanimals), after a disastrous Detour, were the final team to reach the mat and were elated to learn that it was a non-elimination leg. The cousins will have to complete an additional task, a Speed Bump, which certainly may impact their chances of winning.
So who will reach the final Pit Stop first and win The Amazing Race? Let's find out!

Last time on The Amazing Race, the five remaining teams raced to Bandung, Indonesia, where the challenges literally went to the animals. Teams had to work with rams, elephants and birds. Nicole and Travis were stressed when Nicole had difficulty assembling a bamboo instrument, and Amy helped her friend. Travis told his wife that he was embarrassed by her performance.
At the Pit Stop, Leo and Jamal were the first team to arrive, followed by Timothy and Marie (Reebs) and Jason and Amy. Ally and Ashley were the final team to reach the mat and were eliminated from the race.

That was an exciting, drama-filled episode of "The Amazing Race," but it was also an episode so full of variably noxious self-righteousness and smugness that I ended up strongly disliking a team that had been a favorite previously and cringing through entirely too much of the hour. I'm putting the balance of the episode too far towards "annoyance" for me to call the episode a success and I'm afraid that there's nothing Travis & Nicole will be able to do to work their way back into my rooting graces. Oh well. I guess I'll recap the episode after...

Last time on The Amazing Race, the six remaining teams performed some unusual challenges in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, including a camel beauty contest and white water rafting down a man-made course. Teams also encountered a U-Turn, and Nicole and Travis chose to U-Turn Leo and Jamal. Poor Nicky and Kim, who also had to perform a Speed Bump because they were the last team to arrive on the previous leg, were U-Turned by Timothy and Marie (Reebs).

The Amazing Race, Season 23, Episode 8: “One Hot Camel”
Aired Sundays at 8pm (Et) on CBS
Abu Dhabi’s Formula 1 race track is the sleek beginning of this hit-and-miss 8th leg. Afghanimals leave first, and must use the satchel of coins they picked up earlier to unlock a car and get going. Not much of a code, though, since most teams came prepared with their numbers already—except the Ice Girls, who have a typical ditz moment holding up the coins to the lock like a sensor. Also typical, Tim asks his ex to promise not to yell at him if he drives, to which she yells at him to promise not to drive slow. Oy, just screw already.
Mr. and Mrs. Dr. have an Express Pass, and say that they will definitely be using it with the Double U-Turn coming up. They also might use the U-Turn itself on...

Last week, the remaining teams on The Amazing Race arrived in Vienna, Austria. The teams had to sing with the Vienna Boys Choir, which was probably as excruciating to attempt as it was to watch.
There was also a major disagreement between Jason and Amy and Timothy and Marie (Reebs) as to whether Jason and Amy's taxi was taken by the other couple. Although Jason and Amy's bags were taken out of the cab by their driver, they still maintained that they would not have taken the cab if the same thing had happened to Timothy and Reebs. So much for friendship on The Amazing Race!

Aired Sundays at 8pm (Et) on CBS
We begin with the reveal of an amazing Amazing Race Fake-Out! With the urging of Tim, the Express Pass the Exes have been clutching on to since the very first episode is finally—Finally—passed on to the Married Physicians in exchange for Pit Stop information. Little do they know, though, their place in the race is secure anyway: no one is being eliminated in this leg, and they are to keep racing to Poland all together. The Baseball Wives, who are last, are relieved; The Zz Tops, who are first, are insanely, pointlessly delighted; and they’re all off to where Communism collapsed in Eastern Europe, and...

Last week on The Amazing Race, nine teams arrived in Norway from Lisbon, Portugal. Brandon and Adam were the first to arrive at the Pit Stop, which was a Viking Longhouse, complete with rowdy, feasting Vikings. The Amazing Race, Season 23, Episode 3: “King Arthur Style”

From winning last leg, Chester and Ephraim depart first from Chile, and find out they have to go to Portugal. This is a challenge for them, though, because usually they have “people” to book everything and line it up for them, and now they must find a flight themselves–an awful reminder for us that these people are already millionaires.
We get some characterizing time. The Afghanimals are excited because Jamal can use his Portuguese; also because they’re always excited. Nicole does the obnoxious exposition parrot routine she so enjoys: “We are Husband And Wife… Physicians.” It’s nails on a chalkboard.

The Amazing Race, Season 23, Episode 1: “We’re Not in Oklahoma No More” Aired Sundays at 8pm (Et) on CBS
Phil Keoghan appears and tells us it is high noon, and that we are in an old western movie ranch. This is merely an excuse for fun music as nothing is really accomplished here, even after a tease that the money has been “stolen.” At least we get treated to two whole seconds of a stunt show style performance, because how else would you start the 23rd season of a reality show? Anyway, after a stumbling beginning, it’s thankfully all business as we meet the contestants. They are:
1. Former NFL Teammates Chester and Ephraim, who, incredibly, went from being bagger and customer to ending up on the same NFL team.
2. Theatre Performers Rowan and Shane, drag queens whose relationship is left predictably unclear.
3. Exes Tim and Marie, who have a hate/hate relationship.

"The Amazing Race" returns Sunday, Sept. 29 with Phil Keoghan still at the helm and now CBS has announced the 11 teams that will race around the world for a $1 million prize.

This season, which marks the 23nd race around the world for the series, will bring back the Double Express Pass twist that was introduced last season, in which the first Team to check in at the first pit stop will earn two "Express Passes" -- one to keep for themselves and one that must be given to another Team by the end of the fifth leg of the Race.
As Teams travel through four continents and nine countries, spanning more than 35,000 miles, they will paraglide high above the skies of Iquique, Chile, subject themselves to a bone-chilling plunge in Norway and buckle up for Formula One Racing in Abu Dhabi.

Playing in the NFL is one thing, but competing on The Amazing Race is a whole different beast.
"This might be the most unpredictable season yet," Phil Keoghan, host of the hit CBS reality competition, tells People.
"[Teams of] pro athletes, feisty fit couples, people with practical hard-working skills, book smarts and strong friendships make it almost impossible to predict who will have an advantage," he says.
Eleven teams will embark on a race around the world for the 23rd installment of show, which premieres Sept. 29 (8 p.m. Et). Two of them are former NFL teammates.
Former Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman Chester Pitts II,...

Showing off their brotherly love, Nick and Joe Jonas headed over to the ArcLight Hollywood to catch a flick last night (June 11).
The “Camp Rock” stars opted for the new magical thriller “Now You See Me,” and seemed impressed with the movie as they headed back to their car after the screening.
This weekend, Nick will co-host the Miss USA pageant along with E! News’ Giuliana Rancic, and he’s excited to see how the recent crowning of Miss Iowa Nicole Kelly, who was born with one arm, will affect the beauty queen realm.
He told press, "I think that's a beautiful thing. I think there's a lot of beauty in diversity and overcoming different obstacles we have in our lives and representing that on a big stage. So many young girls' dream is to be Miss USA, so showing that that's possible is a beautiful thing."...

Giuliana Rancic will once again be hosting the Miss USA Pageant this Sunday, June 16 on NBC, alongside new co-host Nick Jonas.
With the recent crowning of Miss Iowa Nicole Kelly, a woman born with only one arm, Zap2it asked the hosts if they think that signals a continued growth in diversity for pageants like Miss USA.
"Absolutely. I think that's fantastic. It's nice to see that pageants reflect what we're seeing every day in our own communities," Rancic tells Zap2it. "She's no different than anyone else. She's got a dream, I'm sure she's a bright, wonderful girl and she should have every opportunity that all these other girls have. I love seeing that."
"I think it's important for pageants to be able to represent what young women really look like outside the stage, and what women are really going through," Rancic continues. "I think that's great."
