- She studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London (RADA) and later worked as an intern at NBC in America, before heading home to Norway.
- Was a long-time active member of the International Association of Women in Radio and Television (IAWRT).
- In the late 1960s she infuriated several viewers with a TV series about sexual education and prevention. 30 years later she recalled receiving an angry letter which didn't even have her name on it, it was simply addressed to "National Whore Number One" and it still found the way to her desk!
- Became the first woman news-anchor in Norway in 1959 and co-anchored the leading news-show "Dagsrevyen" through the 1960s. She very quickly became a leading person for womens rights issues in Norway, and was awarded His Majesty the King's Order of Merit in Gold (Kongens fortjenstemedalje i gull).
