- (2003) Oliver won a Best Actor Award at the Manchester Evening News Awards for his searing portrayal of a frightened young conscript during the Angolan War in Paul Herzberg's 'The Dead Wait', directed by Jacob Murray at the Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre.
- (2006) He acted in Pauline Macaulay's play, "The Creeper," at the Playhouse Theatre in London, England with Ian Richardson, Alan Cox, Harry Towb, and Robert Styles in the cast. Bill Bryden was director.
