The Valley is a show that boldly asks its viewers two questions. First: Why are you watching this? And second: Why are you enjoying this?
The appeal of the Bravo reality show, which follows a group of friends living in “the valley” — a neighborhood in California where people usually flee from Los Angeles to settle down and have kids — isn’t immediately obvious. Most of the cast are new faces, except for a messy trio who were let go from Vanderpump Rules in 2020. Most of their lives aren’t exactly aspirational,...

Despite the fact that not one, but two of the show’s four central couples have split up recently, Bravo has renewed “The Valley” for a second season. And yes, the full cast is expected to be back — even those who seem to be heading toward divorce.
“The Valley” — years in the making — premiered on Bravo on March 19, in the Tuesday timeslot after “Vanderpump Rules,” its progenitor. In the announcement, part of a broader set of renewals made by parent company NBCUniversal, the company called the show “its most-watched freshman series in nearly a decade.”
“The Valley” is led by former “Vanderpump Rules” stars Jax Taylor and his now-estranged wife Brittany Cartwright, along with Kristen Doute, all of whom were jettisoned from the mothership in 2020, after the show’s disastrous eighth season, when Doute’s and Taylor’s past misdeeds (of the racist kind) made them too toxic to employ.

A reunion for Season 1 of the Vanderpump Rules spinoff, The Valley, is currently up in the air. Initially, before the series even began airing, Jax Taylor joked that they would need security. Now, it seems there may not be a reunion to secure. Keep reading for more details.
The Valley Season 1 Reunion Up In The Air
Before The Valley even premiered, there was drama with the cast. Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright announced they had separated. Though it seemed clear they were struggling in their four-and-a-half-year marriage, the timing seemed off. Some felt that it was a publicity stunt to get people to watch the show but they assured their followers it most certainly was not. Then, days before the show was set to air, co-stars Jesse and Michelle Lally split, as well. Jax had said, in mid-February, on his and Brittany’s When Reality Hits podcast, that the spinoff...

The Valley is shaping up to be the best reality series of the year, and given that plenty has happened both on and off screen since the Vanderpump Rules spinoff’s premiere, it needs a reunion.
Initially, a reunion seemed like a sure thing because of Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s separation. Why wouldn’t viewers want to see them on the same set being grilled about their relationship status?
It’s what we expect from the Bravo series at this stage, especially one connected to Vpr, which has had some of the most iconic reunions in Bravo history.
You can only imagine our surprise when Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick revealed on their Balancing Act podcast that they have yet to be contacted about a reunion.

The entire cast had assembled to celebrate Jax Taylor‘s new deal to promote hair loss products.
Kristen was less than thrilled when she felt Michelle’s then-husband, Jesse Lally, was rude, with the former SURver storming away from the table.

Once upon a time, Kristen Doute was the messiest cast member on Vanderpump Rules.
After being fired in 2020 and claiming on the first episode of The Valley that she’s at a different stage of her life, she can’t seem to give up getting caught up in heated debates with her co-stars.
Truthfully, it seemed like Jax Taylor would be the person stirring up the most drama in this spinoff, but Doute is wasting no time pulling the strings in this new friend group behind the scenes.
That came back to haunt her in a big way on Tuesday’s episode when she claimed Janet Caperna told Jasmine Goode that Michelle Lally was a “racist and a Republican.”
The episode ended on a cliffhanger with Michelle’s then-husband, Jesse Lally, claiming that Doute got fired from Vanderpump Rules for being racist.

Vanderpump Rules hasn’t been good in years, so launching The Valley out of the latest episode of the Bravo series was always going to come with some caveats.
The transition between the two shows was seamless, and Vpr having one of its best episodes of the season should have helped keep viewers invested.
Sadly, The Valley’s series premiere was a convoluted mess, complete with forced storylines that would give The Hills a run for its money.
We were hastily introduced to the plethora of cast members without much context. There are far too many people on the cast to form much of a connection within one episode.
It’s bad times when the only people bringing it to the premiere are Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, and Kristen Doute. In hindsight, maybe getting those three back was actually a good idea.

It’s bad times when the only people bringing it to the premiere are Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, and Kristen Doute. In hindsight, maybe getting those three back was actually a good idea.
They’re seasoned reality TV veterans and came...

After spending years in development and being the worst kept secret in the Bravo universe, the long-awaited Vanderpump Rules’ spinoff The Valley finally premiered on Tuesday night in a crossover episode. On the most recent episode of Vpr, viewers watch as Jax Taylor makes his grand return to the series that birthed his reality TV career, after leaving it all behind in 2020. Notorious reality bad boy Jax Taylor is back where he belongs. Four years after leaving Vanderpump Rules, Taylor is helming the new Bravo reality show The Valley, which premieres March 19.
“I thought I was going to have to dust off the cobwebs a little bit and get back into it,” Taylor says from his home in Los Angeles’ Valley Village neighborhood. “I wasn’t sure how I was going to navigate it now that I’m a husband, and I’m a father. But no, I just fell right back into it. Within five minutes, I was right back into it.”
The show, starring Taylor — once admittedly known for his hard-partying, cheating, lying, arrest-prone, manipulative ways — and his recently estranged sweet-as-Kentucky-pie wife, Brittany Cartwright, features many new players, including the location: the San Fernando Valley, where hip Hollywood folks have begrudgingly moved when it was time to grow up.

Taking a page out of the Vanderpump Rules producer handbook, cameras on The Valley began rolling again after Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright shared publicly that the married couple was taking time apart.
Production had wrapped on the Vpr spinoff series last year, but The Hollywood Reporter reported that the cameras fired back up to capture the fallout when, in late February, Cartwright announced on her and Taylor’s podcast that the parents to 2-year-old son Cruz were separating after four years of marriage.
“Yes, marriages in general are really hard, and I’ve had a particularly rough year in mine this past year. Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health,” she said, reading from a prepared statement. “I won’t get into too many details right now, because...

And I just think it’s important to be real and honest with you guys because… we’ve shared so much of our life with you guys,” she said. “I don’t want to seem like I’m lying or anything like that, so I think it’s important for me to say this.”

When Kristen Doute, Jax Taylor and his wife, Brittany Cartwright, exited Vanderpump Rules in 2020, viewers weren’t quick to expect a return to Bravo. But nearly four years later, the trio have their own spinoff series with The Valley.
In a preview of the new reality series, released hours ahead of the fifth episode from Vanderpump Rules‘ 11th season, it’s evident that a lot has changed since trading West Hollywood for the San Fernando Valley.
“The concrete jungle, the hard-core city life, that’s for when you’re in your 20s,” says Doute. “But I’m 40 now. The Valley is where I need to be.”
The sneak peek features Doute and her boyfriend, Luke Broderick, discussing their plans to have children. “I can’t just get knocked up, like, any day of the week,” she explains. “We’re still trying to figure out my ovulation. But it’s not that we don’t practice.

Kristen Doute is sharing sad news.
The 40-year-old Vanderpump Rules star and her 32-year-old boyfriend Luke Broderick recently became pregnant, they shared in a recent episode of their podcast Sex, Love, and What Else Matters with Kristen Doute, and then suffered a miscarriage at six weeks after Kristen‘s pregnancy.
The pregnancy developed into what is called a blighted ovum, meaning that an embryo has not developed or fully developed.
