Suzanne Lacey, 35G Films, is an emerging filmmaker. Suzanne's short film, The Scrapped, has been selected by the HollyShorts Film Festival to screen at the Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, and stream on Bit Pix TV, in their 23/24 Monthly Screening Series (date TBA). The Scrapped had its debut at the Toronto Short Film Festival in March 2023. The Female Eye Film Festival selected Suzanne's first feature screenplay, The Prize, for their script development program and for their Telefilm Talent to Watch entry. She recently completed the screenplay with the support of Ontario Creates, and production is planned for 2025.
Other short films include, By the Lake (the prize) which screened at the Kingston Canadian Film Festival in 2020, the short As Usual for the 2021 Toronto, 48hr film festival for 'One Four One Collective' and the shorts Hell on 2 Wheels and Bachelor Party, both broadcast on TVO. In addition to filmmaking, Suzanne's media career includes working as production manager in various genres including the multiple award winning Doc, Before Their Time. As a broadcast exec at tvo she commissioned the drama series Hard Rock Medical (Distinct Features) and The Water Brothers (SK Films). (The Water Brothers series won of the prestigious BBC Earth Panda award.)
Suzanne's work with northern creators during casting sessions, table reads and production of several seasons of Hard Rock Medical forged a strong bond with the northern community where she continues to mentor students at Canadore College and where she plans to produce her first feature, The Prize!
