Went om stage in 1887 at Odense Theater, a theater he would always return to over the years.
Toured abroad for many years - especially Norway (part of Denmark at the time) - where he was
introduced to Henrik Ibsen. After performing for Ibsen he was accepted as a leading juvenile in
his plays.
Lagoni had a sinister and stern look about him - a trait he used successfully in ca. 80 silent films.
Nordisk Film hired him in 1909 and he was one of the first Sherlock Holmes in films (1910-11),
but mostly appeared in dour character parts.
In his very thin book of memoirs, he did not mention one word about his extensive film career.
