Mti Home Video will release Ivan Zuccon's (Colour from the Dark) Wrath of Crows. The release date is scheduled this summer. And, the film was developed from Gerardo Di Filippo's script. The story involves a hellish prison and several prisoners. These prisoners are each held for a reason, though. Tiffany Shepis (The Prometheus Project), Debbie Rochon (Santa Claws), Tara Cardinal, Domiziano Arcangeli and Suzi Lorraine star in this horror feature. Early reviews have been a mixed bag. Mike Thomas of Matchflick liked the film's acting: "Wrath of the Crows, albeit a very confusing title, is an intense morality play with very strong performances from the entire cast." Many of those in the cast are no strangers to horror. Meanwhile, Thomas T. Sueyres of Original Vid was unsurprised by the twists within the film: "Zuccon may pull the rug out from under the viewer once too often and one...

“The End of the Whole Mess” by Stephen King Available in the collection Nightmares and Dreamscapes, this disturbing piece of literature does not deal with the supernatural or crazed maniacs. No demonic monsters, serial killers or the like cause the horror that makes this story so chilling. Rather it is human error (and perhaps even arrogance) and that's what makes this story hit home. Like much of Stephen King's work, it has been adapted for the screen. I first read this as a teenager, and its frightening conclusion has stayed with me ever since. “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge” by Ambrose Bierce It's a good guess that just about everybody has read this story at least once in school, or has heard about it, or has seen one of the numerous films adapted from or inspired by it. Written in the late 1800s, Bierce captures that sense of...

From the trailers, I expected Wrath of the Crows to be in the vein of the classic Italian exploitation films, and in a way it is, with a generous amount of extreme gore and a scream queen in fetish gear throughout the film. But what I wasn't expecting to see was a very personal, metaphysical exploration of life after death told through heavy symbolism.
The plot of Wrath of the Crows is simple. As a group of people await their fate in an otherworldly prison, they talk among themselves, recall the evil they did during their lives, argue and fight, wonder about the nature of the prison, and endure gruesome tortures. Yes, the plot takes some twists and turns toward the end, but really that's about it.

Ivan Zuccon‘s latest horror flick Wrath Of the Crows is set to open in ten days, and today we’re here to share the latest poster and trailer for the whole thing. From The Official Release:
"House of Flesh Mannequins" is in part, an homage to the 1960 cult classic, "Peeping Tom" which is widely reported to be Martin Scorsese’s favorite film. Indeed, “House of Flesh Mannequins” even features a poster from the original film. But this is not a remake. The film also features a nod to the great European genre directors of the ‘70’s and ‘80’s. Tiffany Shepis, Debbie Rochon, and Tara Cardinal? In the same blood-soaked motion picture? Where in the hell do I sign up? Below you’ll find a nasty little trailer for director Ivan Zuccon’s upcoming endeavor “Wrath of the Crows”, a torture horror flick that, to be perfectly honest, doesn’t look half bad. The whole handkerchief bit is pretty clever, and, like I said, you can’t go wrong with Shepis, Rochon, and Cardinal. I mean, I guess you could, but I seriously doubt it. Anyway, read this synopsis: In a dirty and narrow jail, Larry (Domiziano Arcangeli), Deborah (Debbie Rochon), Hugo (Brian Fortune), Hernest (John Game) and Liza (Tara Cardinal), the prisoners, are obliged to suffer injustices from the guards and from their chief, the officer. Above all of them all: the Judge. Nobody ever saw him, but he is the one that sets the rules and he...

We just got the trailer for a new horror movie called Wrath of the Crows from Italian director Ivan Zuccon. And, boy, this flick appears to have everything fans of Eurohorror could possibly ask for: mutilation, nudity, gore, degradation, torture, grue-filled kills, moody lighting and, of course, opaque dark symbolism that probably means something, but who cares when you have all the mutilation, nudity, gore, degradation, torture and grue-filled kills.
Oh, I should also mention the best reason to see it: Wrath of the Crows stars Tiffany Shepis and Debbie Rochon!
Joining Rochon and Shepis in this Eurohorrific bloodbath are Tara Cardinal, the gifted up-and-coming scream queen; Domiziano Arcangeli, the noted Italian-American actor; Brian Fortune, an Irish actor recently seen on Game of Thrones; and Suzi Lorraine, another talented horror actress who's been working her ass off lately.

Over the years, in my unofficial quest to see every film in the Tiffany Shepis oeuvre, I've followed the reigning Queen of Scream many places and she has shown me many things. But never has she shown me anything quite like Nympha, her 2007 flick with European filmmaker Ivan Zuccon. But, to be fair, nobody has ever really shown me anything quite like Nympha.
I'd heard of Zuccon, but I'd never seen any of his flicks. All I knew about him was that he's an Italian director. That's it. And after seeing Nympha, I have to say that, yes, Zuccon is definitely an Italian director — his film is moody and stylish, with generous helpings of nudity, nuns, indelible gory imagery and, of course, a plot that's rather hard to follow. Though it's all made (somewhat) clear by the end,...

Wrath of the Crows is an Italian shot horror feature that highlights the acting talents of several horror starlettes including: Tiffany Shepis (Cyrus), Debbie Rochon (Slime City Massacre) and Tara Cardinal (I Hate L.A.). The style of the film is indefinitive and surreal as period costumes and jump cuts distort any coherent flow. This is one of the few trailers to come across the 28Dla newswire that has confused the watcher more about the film's story rather than offering insight. Apparently, there is a lot of nudity and gore. But, is there a reason to watch? Viewers can decide for themselves and the first trailer for Wrath of the Crows is below, with a release date scheduled for late in 2012.

Psychic Experiment is centered around an idyllic, small, self-sufficient community which seems like the perfect neighborhood on the surface. After all, everything you could possibly need is within walking distance. But eventually the pastoral exterior conceals a dark past and an even darker secret, and as a group of individuals - each with their own ties and agendas with the town and each other - converge on the enclave, strange things begin to happen. Very strange things. Strange enough to test - and then break - the very fabric of reality itself.

Continuing with our 2010 year end celebration actor Jesse Kozel had given us his awesome best and worst list of 2010. Thanks Jesse!
Thanks for the opportunity to spill the beans on what I think is riding the line between good and bad in my world.
I only wanted to include films that played to wide audiences either at festivals with large crowds, theatrical releases or if they were available on DVD.
Best of 2010:
Black Swan - Aronofsky does it again with this mind bending thriller set in the world of Ballet. You know those people are crazy, but now you get to see inside the head of a prima ballerina for the first time. Stellar performances and an overall captivating setting make for the best film I've seen this year.

Italian director Ivan Zuccon takes a thoughtful approach to H.P. Lovecraft’s seminal short story “The Colour Out of Space” in Colour From The Dark (now out on DVD from Vanguard), transplanting the story from America to rural Italy, 1943. Right at the center of “The Great War,” just as it seemed Europe would fall to the fascists and the Nazis, we are introduced to Pietro and Lucia, who live on an isolated farm with Lucia's younger sister, Alice.

Stories of the loss and renewal of faith have been told again and again since the dawn of time. They were among the first narratives to be adapted to film, and continue to be a presence on the cinema scene today. In the horror arena, one of the latest is Nympha, the recent chiller from Italian genre specialist Ivan Zuccon.
It is a traditional dark and stormy night when Sarah (Tiffany Shepis) knocks on the doors of the convent of the “New Order” in Italy. Having traveled from America, she is eager to start her new life there, and immediately begins a rather unorthodox orientation. Locked in her room, she meditates and prays before being taken to her first audience with the Lord. Unbeknownst to her, this will actually be a meeting with the alcoholic local doctor (Giuseppe Gobbato), and from what we gather from the exchange between him and...

I'd heard of this production of Lovecraft's Colour from the Dark before but only watched the trailer for the first time this morning. I was expecting the usual low budget adaptation you always seem to get with films based on Lovecraft's work and essentially that's what I got; except director Ivan Zuccon has given us so much more. The trailer is not only well put together, but features a bevy of impressive and innovative FX shots and filming techniques. The one at the end of the trailer where a hallway expands is particularly chilling.
Pietro and Lucia live on an isolated farm with Alice, Lucia's younger sister. Poor farmers, they live tilling the soil. Pietro is a good worker and a strong man who, unlike his three brothers, is not at war because of a deformed knee. Lucia is a beautiful and reserved woman dedicated to her family. A new poster has crept on-line for Colour From The Dark, the latest (and, we believe, the best) fright feature from Italian director Ivan Zuccon. You can check out the art for the film (which stars Fango Radio’s own Debbie Rochon) below the cut.
The poster appeared on the website for Wonderphil Productions, which is handling sales on Colour From The Dark. An adaptation of the H.P. Lovecraft story “The Colour Out of Space” (which also inspired the features Die, Monster, Die! and The Curse), Zuccon’s film is set on a farm circa 1943 where married couple Lucia (Rochon) and Pietro (Michael Segal) and Lucia’s sister Alice (Marysia Kay) live. After a strange colored light appears at the bottom of their well, an insidious force begins to infect the farm and the people dwelling on and around it. We’ll keep you posted on the movie’s distribution...
