The 1993 Western "Tombstone" had a notoriously troubled production that even led star Kurt Russell to help with directing duties, essentially co-directing with credited helmer George P. Cosmatos (the director of "Rambo: First Blood Part II" and father of "Mandy" director Panos Cosmatos). Despite the difficulties filming the story inspired by the exploits of real-life Tombstone sheriff Wyatt Earp (Russell), some of the cast managed to develop friendships, and that includes Russell and the man behind Doc Holiday, Val Kilmer.
In an interview with GQ where he looked back at some of his most iconic roles, Russell shared a fun anecdote about gifts he and Kilmer traded at the end of filming "Tombstone" that happened to be exceptionally in-character for them both. Making "Tombstone" may have been a real pain, but at least they managed to find a silver lining (and created one of the best Westerns of all time).

Nicole Kidman recently earned immense praise for her new Prime Video series Expats. The series, based on the novel The Expatriates by Janice Y. K. Lee focuses on the tragic tale of a mother, Margaret, whose son goes missing in a Hong Kong nighttime market excursion. Kidman revealed that the subject matter of the series made it tough for her to pull off the job and certain scenes even forced her to pause to grasp everything.

Speaking about one painful scene in Expats, we see Nicole Kidman’s Margaret laughing at a very morbid situation. Tom Cruise’s former wife replied that she based that scene on her tendency to laugh at inappropriate times. She explained that she needs this moment to keep her alive in devastating moments of grief.

Mark Wahlberg is an incredible actor with an impressive filmography under his belt. Having starred in many shows and movies, the actor made a name for himself in different genres – be it action, comedy, or drama. But if there is one thing missing from his folio, its superheroes. While Wahlberg had been approached quite a few times to star in different superhero roles, either he wasn’t interested in them, or things never completely materialized.

The role of Batman has been played by many different actors in diverse ways over the years. In 1989, Michael Keaton headlined the cinematic adaptation of the iconic DC superhero in Tim Burton’s Batman. The actor-director duo collaborated on two successful films before Keaton announced that he would step down from playing the character in the 3rd installment.

David Lynch's "Dune" was mostly seen as a misstep for the celebrated director back in 1984. As we gear up for the bleak blockbuster that is Denis Villeneuve's "Dune: Part Two," Lynch's "Dune" now occupies an unusual space in the public consciousness — somewhere between cult classic and historic blunder. There are undoubtedly plenty of things wrong with "Dune" 1984, and the film suffered a brutal critical and commercial reception. But forty years after Lynch's $40 million spectacle bombed at the box office, some have come to see the films' positives, arguing that "Dune" 1984 is better than its reputation suggests.
Which, as it happens, is a perfectly reasonable point of view. Aside from the impressive set and costume design, "Dune" actually featured some pretty good visual effects for the time. What's more, the casting was excellent. Lynch may have ruthlessly denied Glenn Close for a part in "Dune," but luckily for him,...

The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral lasted under one minute and took place over 140 years ago. Tombstone, which dramatizes said gunfight, was made just over 30 years ago and already has more mystery to it. We may know who killed who that October day in Arizona, but there’s still some discrepancies over who truly directed 1993’s Tombstone. One thing’s for sure: Michael Biehn knows it wasn’t Kurt Russell…despite what Kurt Russell may say.
Speaking on Michael Rosenbaum on Inside of You, Biehn – who played outlaw Johnny Ringo – tried to once again shut down the rumors that Russell was the true director of Tombstone. “I get so f’in’ tired of people asking me if Kurt Russell directed the movie…Kurt Russell did not direct the movie. Kurt Russell was responsible for getting the movie off the ground. I never would have played Johnny Ringo if it wasn’t for Kurt Russell.

Since 2022’s Elvis, Austin Butler’s star has really taken off. The former Disney and Nickelodeon child actor is capitalizing on his breakout film with roles in the recently released Dune: Part Two, where he plays the ruthless Feyd-Rautha. However, Butler hasn’t turned his back on smaller films, as he is set to co-star alongside Tom Hardy in Jeff Nichols’ period drama, The Bikeriders. And there have been rumblings that he may take on the role of Chris Shiherlis in Michael Mann’s Heat 2 — a role which was previously portrayed by Val Kilmer.
Michael Mann confirmed during his press tour for Ferrari that his next film project would be adapting his novel, Heat 2, which serves as both a sequel and a prequel to his popular 1995 film that famously pitted together legendary actors Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. Lindsay Lohan was fetch long before fetch was a thing. So, it should come as no surprise that Paramount paid the actor handsomely to cameo in the new “Mean Girls.”
Sources say Lohan, who became one of young Hollywood’s biggest stars after starring in the 2004 film of the same name, pulled down about $500,000 for a half a day of work in the latest incarnation, a musical that stars a new clique of Plastics led by Angourie Rice and Reneé Rapp. Paramount declined comment. A rep for Lohan declined a request for comment.

He’s your huckleberry and also apparently your guide. To mark the 30th anniversary of Tombstone, Val Kilmer, who played gunfighter/dentist/Wyatt Earp Bff in the 1993 western, posted behind-the-scenes footage he shot during the making of the film.
Stamped with “August 26th, 1993”, the footage shows trailers marked “Doc” and “Wyatt”, for lawman Earp as played by Kurt Russell. The footage then shows Russell outside of his trailer, with cameraman Kilmer assuring him, “You’ve arrived! You’re a pro!” Russell then shows photos of himself and the real Earp side by side, challenging the viewer to figure out who is who, even referencing an old Memorex ad just to further date the clip.

In February 1994, Roger Ebert felt like he was the last one to get to the party when it came to celebrating a new movie. This would usually be a strange thing for a film critic to admit, particularly when he has a Pulitzer Prize. But despite—or perhaps because—he and fellow critic Gene Siskel hosted the nationally syndicated At the Movies TV series, Disney and its film production label Hollywood Pictures went out of their way to keep the men with the thumbs from seeing Tombstone. Even though the new Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer-starring Western enjoyed a vaunted Christmas Day release, the studio was not so much putting out the movie as they were abandoning what seemed like a Yuletide turkey.

It’s no secret that George Clooney has a disdain-hate relationship with his version of Batman, having starred as the Caped Crusader in 1997’s Batman & Robin. But there might be someone else who brushes off his take more than anybody else: his own son!
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, George Clooney recalled a moment when his son laid it out as only a kid can. “My son’s in love with Batman, right? He’s in love with Batman. That’s all he talks about is Batman. And I’m like, ‘You know I was Batman?’ And he’s like, ‘Yeah, not anymore.’ He has no idea how right he is!…How do you tell your six-year-old son that Batman had nipples? How do you do that?!” For what it’s worth, those nipples landed that get-up a starting bid of $40,000 on the auction block.

Well, this is more than disappointing.
Just days after it was revealed that Kara Kilmer would be leaving Chicago Fire, the series has confirmed its intention to say goodbye to another series regular.
Alberto Rosende, who has played fan-favorite Blake Gallo since Chicago Fire Season 8, will be written out on the Chicago Fire Season 12 premiere.
The actor was initially employed in a recurring capacity but struck such a chord with viewers that he was upgraded to a full-fledged series regular shortly after.
Losing another familiar face is never a good sign, but the One Chicago universe has many movers and shakers right now.
The only solace we can take from this news is that Rosende will appear in one final episode to bring Blake's storyline to a close.
The other good news is that we're convinced Blake will not be killed off because this show likes to deliver shocking twists.

Throughout the mythos concerning the character of Bruce Wayne aka Batman, there is a strong theme of predestination. While made explicit in only a few tales of the Dark Knight throughout the character's 84-year existence, there exists the idea that the orphan Bruce Wayne was able to mold himself into the figure of Batman partially because his whole life prepared him to do just that, mentally if not also physically and emotionally.
1995's "Batman Forever," the third in Warner Bros. and producer Tim Burton's series of live-action adaptations of the character, is one of the stories of the Caped Crusader that highlights this theme in a big way. In the film, Bruce (played by Val Kilmer) is troubled by recurring waking nightmares that psychiatrist Dr. Chase Meridian (Nicole Kidman) deduces are actually repressed memories forcing their way into his conscious mind. The 2004 film “Spartan” has largely been forgotten, but the thriller will always have a place in history as the movie that made Val Kilmer hate David Mamet.
A viral Twitter thread has sparked renewed interest in the film’s DVD commentary track, in which Kilmer repeatedly insults his director Mamet for what Kilmer saw as pompous and occasionally abusive on-set behavior. The film, which centers around a search for the President’s kidnapped daughter, was the first collaboration between Mamet and Kilmer. Based on the actor’s comments, it’s not surprising that it ended up being their last.
“He’s cruel,” Kilmer said of Mamet. “He hates actors, having failed at the profession himself. There were a lot of tears on the set. It was tough, because you’d be playing a tough guy and he’d break you down. But in front of everyone too, he wouldn’t do it in the trailer.

Ray Stevenson died on location in Italy this week while working on the film Cassino in Ischi. In it, he plays Nic Cassino, who appears to be the title character. But throughout his career the actor was renowned for strong supporting roles. Stevenson exemplified this “one for all” spirit as Porthos in The Three Musketeers (2011) and honed it through The Book of Eli (2010), King Arthur (2004), the Thor movies, and the upcoming Star Wars Disney+ series, Ashoka. He was at his most supportive, even as a lead character, when he played legionnaire Titus Pullo in HBO’s Rome. Pullo was a warrior with a heart of gold, but at one point he could also be the second-hand-man to an early version of a mob kingpin.
But Stevenson was second to no one in the role of Danny Greene, the titular character of writer-director Jonathan Hensleigh’s 2011 gangster-genre love letter, Kill the Irishman.

In 1993, "Tombstone" assembled a cast for the ages to tell the story of Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, and the legendary gunfight at the O.K. Corral. The throwback Western, led by Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer -- in what is perhaps Kilmer's best performance -- showcases a lot of tough guys in cowboy hats as it dramatizes real events that took place before and after the gunfight in Tombstone, Arizona, circa 1881. Special effects make the gunfight seem real, but thirty years later, in the age of "Ted Lasso," perhaps the most impressive effect on display in "Tombstone" is the mustaches, not the machismo.
As Earp, his brothers Virgil (Sam Elliot) and Morgan (Bill Paxton), and Holliday come walking over the hill on their way to the Corral, they all sport period-appropriate mustaches. So, too, do their enemies, the red-sashed Cowboys, led by "Curly Bill" Brocius (Powers Boothe) and Holliday's rival,...

Before you get too excited, dear reader: No, actor Robert Pattinson did not try on the Batman costume worn by Adam West in the popular 1966 TV series. He did, however, actually put on the very same Batman costumes once worm by Val Kilmer and George Clooney (in "Batman Forever" and "Batman & Robin" respectively) for his screen test. It seems that even in 2022, Warner Bros. was keeping suits built in 1995 and 1997 as a reference.
Matt Reeves' 2022 film "The Batman" was a very different animal from the Batman feature films that had come before. Eschewing comic book fun, and embracing a dour, depressing aesthetic cribbed directly from David Fincher's "Seven," "The Batman" was a terse and complicated crime movie about a serial killer, organized crime, and terrorism. Gone were the colorful, outsize villains, or a Bruce Wayne who seemed capable of having any fun while living his life as a millionaire playboy.

Following the success of Man of Steel, Zack Snyder was off to the races with his vision of Superman. Warner Brothers looked at him and saw gold. And with Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy having wrapped up, the Batman character was officially free and clear. So they set their eyes on adapting one of the most popular stories in all of comics. A clash so big that other films would tease it just to get a cheap pop. So we’re getting into all the Doomsday building, Lex Luthor slobbering, and Dark Knight murdering in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Bringing two titans together on the big screen is anything but an easy process. Warner Brothers decided to bring back their Superman team of Zack Snyder and David S Goyer and sought to make a new film. And while many people expected Man of Steel 2,...

Last July, Michael Mann revealed to Empire that the Heat sequel — published in novel form the following August – was always intended to be a movie. Now, according to Deadline, Mann is making moves to have that happen, with Warner Bros. looking to back the film as it did the original and Adam Driver as Mann's chosen actor for one of the prime lead roles.
The 1995 original movie, a powerhouse of heist action, cat-and-mouse cops 'n' robbers confrontations and some of the best working actors still stands as one of the director's best. So naturally, a follow-up comes with all the anticipation and plenty of pressure.
Heat 2 the novel (which Mann co-wrote with Meg Gardiner) takes place both after and before the film in a Godfather Part II sequel-prequel structure, largely focusing on Detective Vincent Hanna (Pacino) and heist crew survivor Chris Shiherlis (Kilmer). But there is also a strand about...

This is not a drill: "Heat 2" may finally be happening. That's right, nearly 30 years after director Michael Mann delivered one of the greatest crime films ever made with 1995's "Heat," Warner Bros. is getting behind a potential new film. What's more, none other than Adam Driver is in talks to star. And that could just be the tip of the iceberg, but we'll get to that.
The news comes to us via Deadline, who confirms rumors that have been swirling for weeks regarding the status of the project. Warner Bros. is backing the development of the film, which would be based on 2022's novel "Heat 2," which was written by Mann and Meg Gardiner (read our review of it here). Driver, meanwhile, would star as a young Neil McCauley, who was played by Robert De Niro in the original. It's worth noting that Driver is currently working with Mann on "Ferrari,...

The heat is on. A film adaptation of Michael Mann’s book “Heat 2” and the sequel to his seminal crime film “Heat” is quickly moving forward, with negotiations currently underway for Warner Bros. to acquire rights to develop the project and with Adam Driver in talks to star in the lead role, IndieWire has learned.
Mann, who produced, directed, and wrote the original film from 1995 starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Val Kilmer, is the driving force behind the project and is negotiating the rights for the film adaptation. He would be both writing the screenplay and directing the “Heat” sequel should a deal close at a studio. The film would closely follow Mann’s novel “Heat 2” that was a #1 New York Times Bestseller last year, and Mann has long hinted that a sequel to the film has been one of his passion projects.

In a 2020 interview with the New York Times Magazine, actor Val Kilmer acknowledged his unfortunate reputation for being "difficult." Although possessed of movie star good looks, handily backed up by a great deal of talent and devotion to his craft, Kilmer often found himself butting heads with executives and studio honchos over his perceived ego. He admitted that had "alienated the head of every major studio," but only out of an attempt to empower actors and directors over studios, and, in his words, "attempt to breathe Suzukian life into a myriad of Hollywood moments." He further confessed as much in Ting Poo's and Leo Scott's 2021 biographical documentary "Val," when he admitted to behaving poorly. He then amended that more accurate adverbs might be "bizarrely" and "brazenly."
But for years, Kilmer couldn't shake his rep. Many stories of Kilmer's bad behavior notoriously came from the utter clusterf*** that was John Frankenheimer...

There aren’t many people in the world who do not know who Cher is. The woman is an icon. She has had a successful career for over six decades. She sings, she acts, and she does it all. A young Cher started out as a singing duo with her then-husband Sonny Bono.
The couple had top 10 singles and starred in their own variety show. As successful as they were, their marriage didn’t work and they divorced in 1975. Since then, she only married once more but she has had many boyfriends. Cher dated some well-known faces, some not so famous, and some much younger men.
Cher | Kevin Winter/Getty Images Who is Cher’s new boyfriend?
She may not look it, but Cher is now 76 years old. Her new boyfriend Alexander Edwards is 37. The two met at Paris Fashion Week in September 2022.
There has of course been criticism of their almost 40-year age difference.

I spent a lot of Top Gun: Maverick studying Tom Cruise’s face. It’s a deceptively interesting one – either eerily smooth or comfortingly weathered, depending on the scene; a fitting testament to a man whose intergalactic fame has outlasted seven US presidents and hundreds, if not thousands, of fly-by-night movie stars. Amid the whooshing racket of torpedoes and jet engines, it’s Cruise who emerges as the film’s most compelling special effect. Few other celebrities feel as curiously enigmatic as they are culturally ubiquitous. You can’t quite believe he’s real. He still might not be.
Cruise is up for an Oscar this weekend as a producer on Maverick, meaning he’ll take one home if the film wins Best Picture. He didn’t get the Best Actor nod that at one point seemed predestined, but oddly, Best Picture feels like an appropriate – even preferable – alternative. For Maverick is Cruise.

The history of Batman on film is well established at this point. Aside from his 1966 outing, we've had the Tim Burton era, the age of Joel Schumacher, the Christopher Nolan trilogy, and most recently, Matt Reeves' "The Batman." But things could have looked very different. Once Tim Burton's 1992 sequel and "weird experiment," "Batman Returns" proved successful, the director prepared to helm the next entry in the franchise. As he recounted in a making-of featurette, he actually met with Warner Bros. and pitched them his idea for a third film, before recognizing the lack of enthusiasm among the studio execs and saying, "You don't want me to make another one, do you?"
Burton was right. Warners didn't want him to make another one — especially since he'd upset the very demographic they and the toy companies were trying to target. Instead, the studio brought in Joel Schumacher to direct 1995's "Batman Forever,...

The rise and fall of Batman feature films from 1989 through 1997 was fascinating to witness. One cannot understate the enormity of Tim Burton's "Batman" in the popular consciousness, nor the outsize box office it earned when it was first released. Internationally, "Batman" earned $411 million, which is about $990 million in 2023 dollars.
A sequel seemed inevitable, and in 1992, Burton returned with "Batman Returns." The sequel was, however, incredibly odd and dark, featuring a surreal visual aesthetic and way more violence. Some critics objected to the film's darkness, and there was a minor uproar. The third film swapped Bat actors as well as directors. Joel Schumacher's "Batman Forever," released in 1995, adopted an Atlantic City-like neon aesthetic and upped the color and energy from Burton's dour films. It, too, was a massive hit, and Schumacher's 1997 follow-up, "Batman & Robin" sought to up the ante, ratcheting up the colors and garishness to an even greater degree.

If you're a Batman fan who spends any time online, you'll no doubt have come across debates over the "definitive Batman." When Matt Reeves' "The Batman" debuted in 2022, the internet was abuzz with fans claiming we'd finally got a Batman who was true to the character's more grounded origins. But almost 20 years prior, when "Batman Begins" debuted, fan sites celebrated Christopher Nolan's 2005 depiction of the Caped Crusader as the ultimate grounded vision. Even we at /Film have attempted some, nicely nuanced if I may say, interjections in this arena, arguing why "Batman: The Animated Series" is the definitive incarnation of the Dark Knight.
At this point, I think we should all agree that there is no definitive Batman. These legendary pop culture figures have lasting appeal precisely because they lend themselves to multiple interpretations. Whether it's James Bond or Superman, we continue to come back to these characters because...

Tom Cruise is looking back on an emotional reunion that occurred on set of “Top Gun: Maverick” between his character Maverick and Val Kilmer’s Iceman.

Tom Cruise revealed just how emotional his reunion with Val Kilmer was on the set of Top Gun: Maverick.
Kilmer, who appeared alongside Cruise in the 1986 original Top Gun, was diagnosed with cancer in 2015. After successfully undergoing chemotherapy and two tracheotomies, Kilmer is cancer-free but speaks with the use of a voice box.
When he reunited with Cruise in Maverick, his character, Tom “Iceman” Kazansky, is seen speaking through a computer, due to an unspecified illness.

It stands with good reason that if any scene made you cry in “Top Gun: Maverick,” it was the emotional reunion between Tom Cruise’s Maverick and Val Kilmer’s Iceman. Dennis Quaid spent the entirety of the 1980s on the cusp of movie stardom. He popped as a cocksure Indiana yokel in Peter Yates' 1979 underdog drama "Breaking Away," commencing a flirtation that bopped from Mercury Seven astronaut Gordon Cooper in "The Right Stuff" to corrupt New Orleans cop Remy McSwain in "The Big Easy" to The Killer himself, Jerry Lee Lewis, in "Great Balls of Fire." Hollywood thought it knew what to do with Dennis Quaid, but the troublemaking Texan armed with a million-dollar grin had other ideas.
Quaid was cut from the same restless cloth as Jeff Bridges. He's a movie star with an actor's temperament. He could show up on set, hit his marks, flash that come-and-get-it smile and cash an eight-figure check, but in the prime of his career he sought out audience-unfriendly areas of discomfort via decidedly unheroic characters. When Tom Cruise gets choked up during his reunion scene with Val Kilmer in "Top Gun: Maverick," those are some real tears you're seeing in his eyes. Kilmer's return as Iceman, onetime rival of Maverick in the Top Gun program, is relegated to a single scene, but it's one that was packed with emotion for both moviegoers and Cruise as he was filming it.
In real life, Kilmer's speaking ability has been affected by throat cancer treatments; it's only toward the end of his scene that he we hear him utter a few lines of dialogue. Director Joseph Kosinski told USA Today that Kilmer's "voice was digitally altered and blended a little bit just for clarity" in "Top Gun: Maverick." Before Iceman stands up from his desk, speaks, and shares a hug with Maverick, Cruise's protagonist is left sitting across from him and the typed message, "It's time to let go.

“Top Gun: Maverick” wowed audiences with its death-defying flight sequences and Tom Cruise’s famous commitment to doing his own stunts. But the spectacle was underscored by a powerful human story that earned its writers a Best Adapted Screenplay nomination.
One of the most emotional moments of the film was Val Kilmer’s cameo as Iceman. The appearance was Kilmer’s highest-profile acting appearance in years, as complications from throat cancer made him lose his voice and have largely prevented him from acting. The moving scene represented a fusion of the past and the present, and Tom Cruise is still thinking about how special it was.
Appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Friday night, Cruise recalled the emotional experience of working with his old friend nearly four decades after the original “Top Gun” hit theaters.

It was the shootout that elevated the likes of Wyatt Earp and dentist-turned-gunslinger Doc Holiday to mythic status. Several features have honored the fabled event, but John Sturges' "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral" stands tall as one of the most illustrious retellings of the infamous 1881 Tombstone, Arizona shootout.
The classic western stars Burt Lancaster as Wyatt Earp and a bristled Kirk Douglas as Holiday, in one of their several big-screen collaborations. Stricken with tuberculosis, Holiday's scenes are earmarked by an intermittent tickle in the throat that, over the runtime, progresses to a full-blown hack. "This kind of cough doesn't go away," he tells the lawman, but he won't resign himself to a slow, peaceful death. Never cowering, whether by the bullet or by bacteria, Douglas keeps his character's physical ailments wrapped under a thick cloak of steely-eyed grit. Earp saves his life from a lynch mob, earning loyalty – and in his own estimation,...

In the 2021 documentary "Val," movie star Val Kilmer makes a delicate confession. "I have behaved poorly." He then adds, "I have behaved bravely, bizarrely to some." It's a moving film in large part because this once vibrantly talented performer has lost his voice to throat cancer, and you're inclined to accept the apology and let the past be the past. The archival footage shot by the actor is so lovingly strung together that it would feel jarringly inappropriate to reckon with what a jerk he could be during the height of his stardom.
According to a very well-sourced 1996 Entertainment Weekly article by Rebecca Ascher-Walsh, Kilmer got into a shoving match with his "Batman Forever" director Joel Schumacher. "He was being irrational and ballistic with the first Ad, the cameraman, the costume people," he said. "He was badly behaved, he was rude and inappropriate. I was forced to tell him that...

It's been almost a year since director Matt Reeves gave us "The Batman," and I think it's safe to say we're all eager to explore more of its grimy gothic environs. Well "take it easy, sweetheart" -- sorry, I had to -- because Reeves is working on "The Penguin" spin-off for HBO Max, which thus far doesn't appear to have tasted Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslov's merciless sword and is, according to star Colin Farrell, set to start shooting in February. While multiple projects centered on Batman villains such as Clayface and Scarecrow are said to be in the early stages of development, according to The Hollywood Reporter, "The Penguin" is currently the furthest along. It's set to arrive before we get the Robert Pattinson-led sequel to "The Batman."

Three decades ago, Christian Slater met Val Kilmer on the set of True Romance, the Quentin Tarantino-penned, Tony Scott-directed crime thriller. Slater played Clarence Worley, an Elvis Presley fanatic, while Kilmer portrayed the Mentor, an Elvis-like figment of Clarence’s imagination. Slater and Kilmer, who first made their names in the 1980s, would go on to work together another three times in the early 2000s, making their latest connection on Jonathan Kasdan’s Willow (2022) sequel series all the more fitting.
With Covid-19 restrictions preventing Kilmer from reprising his beloved rogue swordsman, Madmartigan, from Ron Howard’s 1988 film, Kasdan knew he needed another wildcard-type character that could bring a similar energy. So he created Allagash, a former knight and running mate of Madmartigan, and the first person he thought of for the role was Slater.
