The Indian digital media market has reached unprecedented heights, reaching an estimated market size of $11 billion in FY23.

“The focus on ‘For India’ content and strategic alignment with local consumer interests have proven pivotal for domestic digital media companies. With this trajectory, we anticipate further revenue expansion and market dominance for these platforms,” said Mukesh Kumar, Associate Partner at Redseer.

Dublin, Aug 23 (Ians) The impressive return to action by fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna has been the standout performance of India’s ongoing T20I series against Ireland. Both Bumrah and Krishna have bowled spells that have enthralled fans and given India the upper edge to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-game series.
With the duo set to take part in the upcoming Asia Cup, Sitanshu Kotak, India’s head coach on the tour of Ireland, feels both bowlers need more game time to be at their best ahead of the Men’s Odi World Cup.
“They were at the National Cricket Academy (Nca) for their RTPs (return to play) and strength. They are very smart; they never looked like they did not get a game, or were out of practice. They looked ready in practice.”
“It is just that these guys need more game time before the World Cup.

Bridgetown (Barbados), July 29 (Ians) West Indies skipper Shai Hope won the toss and elected to bowl first against India in the second Odi at Kensington Oval, here on Saturday.
Hardik Pandya, who was leading the side as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested, said Axar Patel and Sanju Samson come into playing eleven as India look to add to their victory in the opening Odi.
“We were looking to bat first. Wicket was up and down in the first half of the last game, so we want to see how they go here,” said Pandya.
“The way we bowled (in the first Odi) was impressive. The way we caught was great, it changed the momentum. Our energy and finishing the game without losing as many wickets have been great,” Pandya said.
West Indies also made two changes, bringing in Alzarri Joseph and Keacy Carty coming in place of Rovman Powell and Oshane Thomas.

Bridgetown, July 29 (Ians) Young opener Shubman Gill has not had the best of outings on India’s ongoing tour of the West Indies. But former India opener Abhinav Mukund believes the right-handed batter’s lean returns on the trip to Caribbean till now, are not a cause for concern.
After Gill got the Orange Cap award for being the leading run-scorer in Ipl 2023 with 890 runs, he has been in lean patch in international cricket. He scored 13 and 18 against Australia at The Oval in the World Test Championship final, followed by recording scores of six, 10 and 29 not out in Tests against the West Indies as a number three batter.
In the Odi series opener at Kensington Oval, Gill was back to opening, but made only seven off 16 balls in a meagre chase of 115.
“I think it’s too early to talk about Shubman Gill’s failure because he has had a phenomenal last couple of years.

Bridgetown, July 28 (Ians) During their five-wicket win over West Indies in the Odi series opener at Kensington Oval, India rejigged their batting line-up in a bid to experiment ahead of the World Cup in a modest chase of 115. That experiment saw Virat Kohli not batting at all, with Shardul Thakur batting at six while captain Rohit Sharma chose to come at seven.
For India, apart from presenting them a chance to seal the Odi series, it is also another opportunity for them to experiment from the second Odi at the same venue yet again and see where various players stand in the lead-up to the mega event.
Ishan Kishan did well as an opener in top-scoring with 52, but could bat in middle-order or maybe India can give a look-in to Sanju Samson. Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja showed left-arm spin mastery to bamboozle West Indies, but whether the visitors give...

Kuldeep, brought into the attack from 17th over, took 4-6 while Jadeja set the base for the West Indies collapse with 3-37. The duo spun a vicious web of spin wizardry to bowl out West Indies for their second lowest Odi total — 114 in 23 overs — against India.
In reply, Kishan opened the batting, took on the bowlers and hit seven fours and a six in his 46-ball 52 as the visitors’ rejigged their batting order. Captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli sat back as everyone else were given a go with the bat.

But before Mark Wood got into the act, Kyle Mayers blazed to a half-century with boundaries as he lifted Lsg after they lost skipper K.L Rahul (8) with 19 runs on board. Mayers’ brilliant batting and breezy cameos by Nicholas Pooran (36) and Ayush Badoni (18) helped Lsg post 193/6 in 20 overs, scoring 63 runs in the last five overs.

Bengaluru, Dec 27 (Ians) With the significant surge in the use of smartphones and Internet, digital ad spending in India is likely to reach 21 billion by 2028, a report showed on Tuesday.

The official inspection will now happen at 1:30pm. Though New Delhi has seen bright sunshine since morning after the last three-four days saw heavy rainfall, the super soppers are still at work around the outfield near the Gautam Gambhir stand though the rest of the ground seems to have dried up well.
For India, a victory on New Delhi’s return to hosting an Odi match after three years will continue their winning juggernaut in the format which began after co-incidentally losing a three-match series in South Africa earlier this year.
The hosts squared the series at 1-1 after winning the second Odi at Ranchi on Sunday by seven wickets.
South Africa, on the other hand, badly need a win on Tuesday to put themselves back on track for direct qualification for next year’s Odi World Cup. A narrow win in Lucknow gave them the vital 10 points, but a loss in Ranchi,...

But this time, instead of scorching heat, it will be the rain threat which will be looming over the series decider, apart from the possibility of a truncated match. India’s national capital has recording 121.7 mm of rain in first ten days of the current month, resulting in water-logged roads and traffic thrown into chaos.
Though the weather forecast shows less of scattered rain and more of sunshine on Tuesday, with the ground covered due to heavy rain in last 72 hours, one can expect a pitch which will have some moisture around and assist the fast bowlers.
With India’s emphatic seven-wicket victory over South Africa in Ranchi setting the stage for a winner-takes-it-all clash in New Delhi, many cricket fans have been nervously scrolling through weather apps and making earnest prayers to the Almighty for Tuesday’s match to go smoothly without any interruption.
