- Dirk Strachan-Thornton is an Australian-born actor with Scottish, Irish, Belgian, French, Danish and Icelandic heritage. He was born in The Barossa Valley, South Australia and showed an interest in acting from a very young age, going to local drama schools and performing in school plays. After moving from The Barossa to Adelaide, he started studying at the National Institute of Youth Performing Arts Australia while also undertaking his Secondary School studies. Graduating from Wirreanda Secondary School with high achievements in English, Music and Drama he deferred his tertiary studies when he was discovered by Adelaide Producer and Director Matt Byrne and cast in his production of "The Producers" in the role of Carmen Ghia. Launching his stage career, Dirk went on to star in many stage productions including: Les Miserables, Avenue Q, Hairspray, Leader of the Pack, Oliver!, Spamalot and The Phantom Of The Opera, to name a few. He was cast in the ABC Series "ANZAC Girls" as a Vocal Loop Artist before moving to Sydney to study at the International Screen Academy where he left before graduating due to artistic differences with the new directors of the school, accusing them of nepotism and bullying. Dirk worked as a wardrobe assistant on Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour's production of "AIDA" with Opera Australia and then played the lead role in Sutherland Theatre's "The Woman In Black" before moving to Melbourne, Australia. Dirk started working as a costume designer and cabaret performer before taking over as Production Manager for the Speakeasy Theatre. In October 2022, Dirk appeared as himself in the Reality Series "The Traitors" with Endemol Shine Australia and Network 10.
