Stoddard King(1889-1933)

Songwriter ("There's a Long, Long Trail A-Winding") and author,
educated at Yale University. He was press manager for the Yale Dramatic
Association, editor of the Yale Record, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and
a columnist for the Spokesman-Review in Washington. During World War I
he served in the 3rd Washington Infantry of the National Guard. Joining
ASCAP in 1941, his chief musical collaborator was Zo Elliott, and his
other popular-song compositions include "There's a Wee Cottage on the
Hillside", "Enchanted River", "Oh Oh Abdullah", "Roll Along, Cowboy",
and "Tiddledidee-o".
