Think about it: Can you name a recent series that gives off Dawson’s Creek, The O.C. or even Pretty Little Liars energy? Shows that offer incredible melodrama, characters you simultaneously love/can’t stand and baffling storytelling choices in a high school setting? Not considering the supernatural ones — if only because their scope tends to reach too far beyond high school — we can count this type of all-engrossing youth drama on one hand. The teen soap output from The CW, Freeform (née ABC Family) and MTV has become all but nonexistent.

Heartbreak High‘s first season ended with Harper and Amerie reconciling after sorting out their year-long differences. The reasons behind the misunderstandings were forgiven, and as they moved towards another year at Hartley High, plenty of old memories resurfaced that were painful and triggering at the same time. The second season of the show is all about the new route their friendship takes and if new romantic relationships are in cards for Amerie and Harper. Season two of this popular Australian Netflix original, Heartbreak High, was released on 11th April 2024, on the streaming platform.
Just like the first season, Heartbreak High has eight episodes this time around too, with forty- to fifty-minute-long episodes that are about the school kids and the details of their intimate lives. Sex Education, a Netflix UK production, sets high standards when it comes to teenage comedy dramas that talk about the growing need for teenagers to know about safe intercourse, sexual orientations, and gender identities. The show managed to aid many students who were going through several bodily and mental changes because of puberty. Following in the footsteps of Sex Education, Heartbreak High was an Australian Netflix original that covered the story of a few teenagers navigating through many difficulties during their time in high school. The show was a reboot of a 1994 Australian show of the same name. Heartbreak High discusses the relationships of teenagers with their lovers, friends, and parents and how all of them mold their lives.

While they’ve inspired such enjoyable exaggerations as FX’s “Devs” and Apple’s “Mythic Quest,” the inner workings of the real-life tech space have largely been deemed off-limits by producers. A heightened threat of litigation is doubtless one reason; equally, round-the-clock coding rarely makes for the most compelling spectator sport, however pounding the electronica you set it to. Plus, David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin’s 2010 feature “The Social Network,” on the turbulent genesis of Facebook, set the bar stratospherically high.

The original Heartbreak High was a cult favourite teen soap, dripping with emblematically Nineties trappings: long, unwashed hair, a patchwork of plaid shirts, a dingy teen hangout run by an affectionate crank. Its depiction of Sydney life was gritty. The brooding cousin of longer-running Aussie soaps like Neighbours (Rip) and Home and Away (somehow still kicking), it arrived in the UK post-teatime with a cigarette dangling defiantly from its lip. Just saying the words “Heartbreak High” in the presence of a person who grew up on it can provoke long odes to the Hartley High student they most idolised.
It’s nostalgia so pure that I’m astonished it took Netflix this long to reboot the series. The new version keeps the straggly hair and plaid shirts, but adds sex, smartphones and social media. It’s a global hit, with more than 33 million hours of viewing time as of Wednesday.

Most acts would hack off an arm to be welcomed like Bts. On Friday, the K-Pop juggernauts debuted “Boy With Luv,” a harmless nu-disco single featuring Halsey. By Monday, it had already shot to the Top Five on Spotify’s U.S. chart and been embraced by pop radio.
That enthusiastic reception demonstrates the extent to which Bts have solidified their position in the American pop establishment. They used to be underdogs — in 2016, their Wings album peaked at Number 26 on the U.S. albums chart; the next year, they climbed to Number Seven.

We smell trouble in paradise, y'all! On Aug. 30, Khloé Kardashian took to Instagram to seemingly hint that she and her baby daddy, Tristan Thompson, are headed for splitsville. The newly-minted mama shared a number of iTunes screenshots on her Ig story and let's just say... she wasn't exactly listening to happy-go-lucky love songs. First up: Patti Labelle's "On My Own." The name of the song in and of itself suggests Koko may be gearing up to ride solo. After all, her relationship with the pro-baller hasn't exactly been a fairytale. No shade to their parenting skills, but the couple's baby girl, True Thompson, was born on the heels of her daddy's cheating scandal. So, we wouldn't blame Khloé for wanting to be on her own. (Photo Credit: Instagram) If the title of the tune isn't enough to convince you, then the damning lyrics will definitely do the trick. "So...

On a recent episode of our Rolling Stone Music Now podcast, R&B singer Amerie explained how she and “Crazy in Love” producer Rich Harrison made “1 Thing,” which landed at number 90 on Rolling Stone‘s list of the Best Songs of the 21st Century (So Far). The 2005 song paved the way for the decade of pop that followed, combining a wildly syncopated drum loop from the Meters with hyper-rhythmic vocals that owed way more to hip-hop than traditional R&B. Grand Theft Auto V digital Playstation 3 pre-orders were made available for pre-load overnight throughout the UK. This has led fans to uncover mysterious info through searching of the game’s files. The most significant pieces of info to come out of this leak was the finding of information of a number of music stations and songs. The list below shows the traditional mix of Hip Hop, Rock and Country while including artists such as Snoop Dogg, Britney Spears and Muse.
Please take this information with a pinch of salt as the legitimacy of this information has yet to be clarified by Rockstar. Hopefully within the next few days more will be revealed. If true, what do you make of the soundtrack and which artists were you hoping would make an appearance?

Heartbroken rocker Sheryl Crow bounced back from her broken engagement to cycling legend Lance Armstrong on Friday to model for a charity fashion show. The hitmaker joined fellow singers LeAnn Rimes, Lindsay Lohan, Lee Ann Womack, Christina Milian, Deborah Harry, Eartha Kitt, Elaine Stritch, Thalia, Amerie, Natasha Bedingfield and The Black Eyed Peas star Fergie at the Red Dress Collection show at New York Fashion Week, organized by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. Earlier in the day, Crow and Armstrong released a joint statement admitting their five month engagement was over. Crow and her fellow music stars strutted down the catwalk in sexy red outfits, created by top designers including Zac Posen, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger.
