Note for all trainers: don’t try to gain clients by body shaming them.
Unfortunately, that’s what one man tried to do to Cassie Young, a newly engaged radio host in Atlanta. Young was celebrating her bride-to-be status on social media when a trainer reached out to her on Twitter, offering his services “to get you in shape for your wedding.”
When Young turned him down, replying that she’s “in shape,” he was undeterred, and continued to send her body shaming messages.
“I know you want to look your best on your wedding day,” he wrote. “If you...

Titles for TV series are tough. You want something that gets attention, but also captures the subject and tone of your show, and you don't want to alienate potential viewers in the process. We've all shared a sigh over the poor choices that the folks behind Terriers, Trophy Wife, Cougar Town, et al right now, and if Crazy Ex-Girlfriend doesn't make it past its second season, we can once again rail against anyone's belief that the audience appreciates nuance and/or irony in titles. The Starz basketball comedy (from LeBron James' production company) Survivor's Remorse has a name that's not as off-putting as some of the ones above, but it's not particularly good, either. Sure, one of the key themes of the show is the way its hero, young basketball star Cam Calloway (Jesse T. Usher) feels bad about escaping a tough neighborhood to become rich and famous, but...

With Straight Outta Compton fresh on everybody’s minds and further stuffing Hollywood’s happily filled wallets, it will be interesting to see what becomes of Survivor’s Remorse’s growing fanbase when it returns for a recently announced third season on Starz. An unapologetic mashup of HBO’s Ballers and Entourage (someone at Starz really wants Starz to be HBO), the show from Executive Producer LeBron James, doesn’t offer anything fresh, but the viewing audience seems to like the repackaging.
Cam Calloway (Jessie T. Usher) is a young baller from the tough part of Boston who signs a lucrative contract to play for Atlanta. The show picks up as he relocates his *ahem* entourage to a swanky new penthouse, sharing his meteoric rise with his crass mother, Cassie (Tichina Arnold), his wheeling-and-dealing manager/cousin Reggie (RonReaco Lee), his groupie uncle Julius (Mike Epps), and his manipulative sister Mary...

It probably doesn't seem like much to most people, but I started this week off with three movies from Monday-Wednesday, beginning with Entourage then Spy and finally Insidious: Chapter 3. As much as this may seem like a dream job, three movies three nights in a row on top of your normal work day, not to mention I need to get to each of those 45 minutes in advance and my drive to Spy, which normally takes me about 12 minutes or so took me an hour (this time of year I normally walk, but I couldn't this time for a variety of reasons), makes for what suddenly becomes a 12-13 hour work day. After all, would any of you pay to see those three movies back-to-back-to-backc However, offering an example of the difference between going to see a movie for work purposes and going to see a movie for pleasure, I...

The Music Room (Criterion) Satyajit Ray’s 1958 masterpiece looks at the life of a fallen aristocrat as a metaphor for an India that is not only becoming Westernized, but modernized technologically and culturally beyond recognition.
